Intel DH67BL + CentOS 5.5 IRQ #177 nobody cared

Hello, We have built a couple of CentOS 5.5 systems on the Intel DH67BL (Sandy Bridge) motherboard and overall they work pretty well. I'm having one problem which keeps cropping up and that is an error message that says: IRQ 177 nobody cared (try booting with the irqpoll option) report bad irq, references CPU idle then it references usb_hcd_irq and e1000_intr then it disables the add-on PCI E1000 card and disconnects itself from the network. I'm assuming what is happening here is the USB controller and the add-on E1000 controller we put in are having an old school IRQ conflict, the question is why and how can I avoid it? I have tried disabling all of the extra stuff in the BIOS that I could, and this still happens fairly frequently. Any advice would be great. thanks, -Drew

kernel panic on 5.6

I am getting: kernel panic unable to mount root fs on unknown block (0,0) This is just a normal box that I have use many a time to test install. Basic one disk SATA 160G. Been using it for at least a year. Is this that glibc issue hitting me? or something else? Thanks, Jerry

Hi, Reading http://www.centos.org/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=30939&forum=37 I noticed a warning about an upcoming bugged update xorg-x11-server-utils-7.1-5.el5_6.1 I would advise everyone to add exclude=xorg-x11-server-utils-7.1-5.el5_6.1 to their updates repo config. Hi all, in which file is the %prep script defined? www.rpm.org says its a build-in script. Does that mean its defined in some binary? I wonder how %prep handles the setup of locale. TIA .....Volker

To pass from Centos 5.5 to 5.6 it was easy as an upgrade. Will it be the same from 5.6 to 6.0 or a full install will be better. --- Michel Donais

unrar rpm package

Hi there -- I am running a server with the 5.6 64-bit distribution, and I am looking for an unrar rpm package. I have several repositories set up on the server which are the following: base updates extras centosplus contrib c5-testing All are enabled. When I do a yum search for unrar, nothing comes up. Is there another repository that I should add to the list, or is there a particular website that I can go to get the package? Thanks.
