Centos6 Migration glitch - ZFS-FUSE

Folks My experiments with installing ZFS-FUSE in a Centos 6 system reveal behavior different from that observed in Centos 5.6. The version of ZFS-FUSE is that provided on the EPEL repository, and was installed on a 32-bit machine. I use it because of its deduplication facility. In Centos 5.6, the facility worked as advertised. In Centos 6, however, the system "hung" in initialization upon the first reboot after installing ZFS-FUSE and creating a pool. By "hung", I mean that the cute sliding blue bar that progresses during bootstrap got to nearly complete and then stood there for at least 20 minutes. The identical computer, configured without ZFS-FUSE, completed the system initialization within normal time. Following some clues found by googling the bug, I suspected that AUDITD and ZFS-FUSE had a conflict. After several experiments, I found what appears to work. REMEDY: When you install ZFS-FUSE, it will start the zfs-fuse service, and will also automatically issue a "chkconfig zfs-fuse on" command. The remedy is to prevent zfs-fuse from running during initializtion by issuing chkconfig zfs-fuse off and starting the service after the initialization is complete. I personally chose to start it via a crontab entry as root: @reboot <something> where "something" could be the direct service call, or (as was in my case) the starting of a script to do a bunch of startup things including starting zfs-fuse service. IS THIS THE DESIRED BEHAVIOR I sort of doubt it, and I'm sure it will eventually be sorted out by the zfs-fuse developers. David Kurn

Loadbalance Repo / ldirectord packages?

Hi *, we want to migrate our loadbalancers running CentOS 5.6 to new hardware and CentOS 6, however the (heartbeat-)ldirectord package seems to be hidden in the new LoadBalance repo in RHEL6. Any chance to get the RHEL SRPMs from this repo? Regards, Peter

iptables problem under tuned bridge

Hi this is my bridge structure ========================================= brctl show bridge name bridge id STP enabled interfaces *br0* 8000.0023aea32e26 no *eth0* *tapxp* ========================================= I tunneled a tapxp for my xp virtual machine. host is centos 6 using eth0 eth0 & tapxp are under bridge *br0 *and they work well. I wish to open 22 for host 80 for xp to outside. others to the outside are blocked. but I also wanna constrict nothing between *host* and *xp* now for host it's OK to open 22 and others are blocked. and I just want to open the connection between host and xp now. openssl and eliptic curve

Hello, I'm trying to rebuild redhat openssl rpm with eliptic curve support enabled. What I did is just edit the spec file and modify the configure parameters from no-ec to enable-ec. Not surprisingly the package does not build with this enabled: http://pastie.org/2334009 This appears to be deliberate due to shitware patents. Anyone knows how to "fix" this? Thanks

Cursor disappear when entering WINE application

dear guys, I'm installing CentOS 5.5 on my laptop. I also install WINE to run Microsoft Office and running well. The problem is, my cursor is always dissapear when I open MS Office application. When I point my cursor on window of the MS Office (example : MS Word), my cursor has gone! Have you ever had same experience like me? what's the solution? thanks,

compiling buoh comic reader for C-6

Hi all! I'm trying to build the buoh comic reader for centos 6 and my head is getting tired of repeated forceful contact with the wall. I built it on 5.6 without undue problems, but somehow 6.0 is beating me. (and no, the 5.6 binary doesn't work, at least not without a lot of futzing around, on 6.0. tried that first.) before I give gory details, has anyone already done this, from whom maybe I could get packages? or advice? it wants libsoup. fine, we got libsoup. but it seems to want version 2.2, while what we have comes in libsoup-2.28.*.rpm which seems to actually deliver /usr/lib/libsoup-2.4.xxxx.so. Go figure. The configure script refuses to deal with libsoup-2.4. so I look at what pkgconfig thinks the installed libsoup is, hack the configure script to look for that version and voila! ok, so now to do "make", which chokes on the first (only) file that includes any libsoup headers. it claims it can't find SoupURI, but it's "right there"!!. I've followed the chain of header file directories, heck, I've even compiled that one file with "-E" and verified that it expands to the right code. I can't see why it's complaining! can any of you see whatever the stupid thing is I'm doing wrong? glglobe is available in one of the normal repos. It is a globe in colour. d = remove or restore day / night line f = grid g = grid intersections i = date, time and position display m = world cities s = infra red ? t = larger lettering of cities 0 (zero) = restore display to current time - = zoom out + = zoom in Using the mouse pointer and the 4 cursor keys the globe can be manipulated, even turned upside down - that must appeal to Australians :-) home = move backwards in time end = move forwards in time page-up = move globe to right page-down = move globe to left It is fascinating to see how, in the northern hemisphere, the sun never sets on the north pole in summer. Madrid (Spain) begins darkness before London yet London has daylight before Spain. Any more thought provoking goodies in Centos ??? how to assign program to run on dedicate CPU ?

We have CENTOS 5.X on DELL servers. I know on Windows environment I can use "imagecfg.exe" to assign program run on dedicate CPU. Can anyone tell me how to do this on LINUX? Thanks.
