Error installing Postfix - Mysql Support

Hello: Does anyone have any idea how resolve this error on my server to install postfix with mysql support? Dedicated Server with CentOS 5.7 64 Bit. I get this dependency information when trying to use the command yum-y install postfix Error: Missing Dependency: libmysqlclient.so.15()(64bit) is needed by package 2:postfix-2.3.3-2.3.centos.mysql_pgsql.x86_64 (centosplus) Error: Missing Dependency: libmysqlclient.so.15(libmysqlclient_15)(64bit) is needed by package 2:postfix-2.3.3-2.3.centos.mysql_pgsql.x86_64 (centosplus) You could try using --skip-broken to work around the problem You could try running: package-cleanup --problems package-cleanup --dupes rpm -Va --nofiles --nodigest At the command below: root@server [/tmp]# ldconfig -p | grep libmysqlclient.so.15 libmysqlclient.so.15 (libc6,x86-64) => /usr/lib/libmysqlclient.so.15 libmysqlclient.so.15 (libc6,x86-64) => /usr/lib64/libmysqlclient.so.15 I appreciate any information. passwd problem with new vps

greetings, I am setting up Centos 6 i686 remotely, on a new VPS. A problem I have is that I cannot set password for new users. I have created one with useradd -m new_user but when I type passwd new_user this is the result: [root@vps ~]# passwd new_user Changing password for user new_user New password: Retype new password: passwd: Authentication token manipulation error [root@vps ~]# tail /var/log/secure Sep 27 17:30:30 vps passwd: pam_cracklib(passwd:chauthtok): pam_get_authtok_verify returned error: Failed preliminary check by password service but I have no clue what the check I've failed is, or if it's a console problem (locales, weird control characters) or maybe a selinux thing? For the record, if I enter a weak password on purpose, e.g. "amok", everything works, meaning that I get an explanation like "password refused because it's too short", or something like that. But when I try longer passwords, with or without non alphanumeric characters, I get this error. what else should I check, or fix? TIA, Marco

How to build a webserver, centos 6, videos

Hello all, I am going to post videos on a youtube channel showing the steps I am taking in putting together a new server. I am by no means an expert and it is intended for people who just want to get a gist of what it entails. channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/WebserverVideos The first part is done, getting the server and putting it together. Along with my thoughts on the build. Future parts coming in the next few weeks will include comprehensive steps dealing with ipmi, raid 1 arrays, centos 6 as a host, centos 6 as guests...dns servers, webserver guest (mail, apache, etc). Selinux.. and the whole shebang. I will be doing a video of the installation at the datacenter which should be cool for those who have never been in one to do it. Comments open, but moderated. This is just a personal webserver project and will cover the steps I take (and why) in building it. I will be adding a 3550 cisco (as soon as I figure it all out) as a switch for my two servers with a full step by step of updating and configuring it. Feel free to tell me if you see anything completely wrong...or something I might forget. I'll do my best to make it time effective to watch it and learn.

data recovery

Hi, Need help on data recovery. Suddenly my disk device's geometry has been changed to something that doesnot make any sense. Its a 1.8TB in size and had only one single partition. Now I can see 3 partitions sde1, sde2 and sde2 of sizes 130M, 140GB and 10GB. Is there any way to recover data from these newly created disk devices? Thanks Paras.

5.7 x86_64 DVD iso

I am trying to find a DVD iso that is not a torrent, and looking through the mirrors I am unable to find one. Does anyone happen to have a mirror or repository that they know of that carries the DVD iso for direct download? I am behind a pretty strict firewall and am unable to do torrents. is there a way to make the kernel see a new ethernet device without rebooting?

I have a VMWare ESX server with virtual machines running CentOS. I want to add an ethernet interface to one of the CentOS virtual machines. VMWare allowed me to add a virtual NIC to the CentOS virtual machine while it was running. However, the CentOS o.s. cannot see the new NIC. Is there a command I can run to make the kernel aware of the new ethernet device? I don't want to reboot the CentOS o.s. if I don't have to Thanks, JD

CentOS 6: corosync and pacemaker won't stop (patch)

Hi, I cannot 'halt' my CentOS 6 servers while running corosync+pacemaker. I believe the runlevels used to stop corosync and pacemaker are not in the correct order and create the infinite "Waiting for corosync services to unload..." loop thing. This is my first time with this cluster technology but apparently pacemaker has to be stopped /before/ corosync.
