Excluding file systems from autorelabel

I'm trying to find a way to exclude file systems during the autorelabel process. I have a file system (/exports) that has tens of millions of files on it and I *know* I don't want it relabeled. I've tried semanage fcontext -a -t "<<none>>" "/exports(/.*)?" and it seems to insist on relabeling that file system. I also tried to see if there was a /.autorelabel_exclude option as I saw some patches but can't seem to find indication of them anywhere (perhaps I missed it). I really need to make sure that I can exclude these massive directories if at all possible. Any help? -- James A. I have been reading steadily since I started on this a month ago. Just, it seems not dealing with the actual setup requirements. So far, I will start with limiting web access to local systems only. Remote systems will have to VPN in. This is only a start, I know there is more to do. If it was not for a couple users, I would not provide a webmail interface even with them having to VPN in.

Filesystem Hierarchy Standard respecting CentOS

I am investigating using rpm to package one of our in house applications. This software started life as a sub-system within a Ruby-on-Rails application but has now been extracted into its own standalone package, none of which has any httpd access. The local package under consideration will run as a set of cron jobs under a designated userid. There will be no user interaction. A remote database server will be updated but no data files will remain on the installation host once they are processed. I have read the subject document a couple of times and I am wondering what people here with experience in these matters actually do. The FHS suggests to me that projects of the sort I am dealing with belong entirely within the /opt/package_name/ tree with variable data stowed in /var/opt/package_name or possibly /var/spool/package_name. However, I have not yet found any application packages for CentOS-6 that actually do this. I find some that go into /usr/package_name, some into /usr/lib/package_name, many that install into /usr/libexec and none that install into /usr/local, which I gather is reserved for packaged built on the system rather than installed via rpm. So, what is the actual practice with respect to packaging via rpm? Where do things go? -- *** E-Mail is NOT a SECURE channel *** James B. Or perhaps this is where RoundCube is expecting it? This file is at its default content. It is timestamped Jul 3. And /etc/localtime is a binary file. A little digging and it SEEMS that files are copied to /etc/localtime from /usr/share/zonetime ? But I can't figure out what RoundCube is doing. Probably will have to go and join that list...

I am having problems with RoundCube: 'Your session is invalid or expired' So I went looking for logs and in /var/log/roundcube/errors I find LOTS of warnings about problems with my timezone. Kind of a challenge to copy the log entries over here (will do if needed). Anyway, for right now I am looking as to where my 'Detroit American/New_York' (what I am seeing in Gnomes calendar preferences) string is stored. Roundcube seems to want 'America/New_York'? Shouldn't I be seeing 'America/Detroit' when I look at the calendar selection in Gnome?

Centos Account Email Issue

Hello, I am having an issue with email on all IP-based site/accounts that I set up on CENTOS 6.3 x86_64 standard WHM 11.34.1 (build 5). On the server's main IP address domain account/site, both sending and receiving email works just fine, however, on all IP-based accounts/sites I create the email users can send email but not receive it, and dnsstuff.com shows: All connections to Mailservers port 25 have failed. The standard port for SMTP transactions is 25, so your servers should be operating on that port. It is recommended that it be fixed in order for your mail service to operate properly. The Mail Servers that failed are: 198.24.145.122 | failed message send with: messaging failure: Time out occurred or Remote server closed connection prematurely I have tried multiple solutions but haven't been able to get email working properly. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Experience with postfixadmin with mysql?

My first time with this. I got postfix, mysql, and postfixadmin setup, generally following http://www.campworld.net/thewiki/pmwiki.php/LinuxServersCentOS/Cent6VirtMai… I used postfixadmin to create my domain then added my first user and got an error: Send Welcome mail: yes Unable to send email! The mailbox has been added to the mailbox table, but none (or only some) of the predefined sub-folders could be created (faxit(a)test.htt-consult.com) There is nothing under /home/vmail (in postfix/main.cf: virtual_mailbox_base = /home/vmail) Advise on where to start troubleshooting? Perhaps a password or permissions not right?

screensaver: waiting for darkness

I'm using the default desktop for CentOS 6. My screensaver is set for blank, 5 min, no locking. In the seconds during which the screen fades to black, I cannot make it come back. Neither the keyboard nor moving and clicking the mouse has any affect. Until the screen goes black, I cannot do anything with the computer. Yum search for unavailable file!

Hi, I'm trying to install ant on my centos 6.3, this is behind a http (only http and not ftp) proxy server. after execute yum install ant, I got some error which indicate mirror speed is extremely low, less than 1bps! and go to test another mirror and error cycle starts again. this is error: "http://wftp.tu-chemnitz.de/pub/linux/centos/6.3/updates/x86_64/repodata/e2e…: [Errno 12] Timeout on http://ftp.tu-chemnitz.de/pub/linux/centos/6.3/updates/x86_64/repodata/e2e0…: (28, 'Operation too slow. Less than 1 bytes/sec transfered the last 30 seconds') Trying other mirror." i tried to get http://wftp.tu-chemnitz.de/pub/linux/centos/6.3/updates/x86_64/repodata/e2e… manually but it seeems there is not any file there. for test I tried o install some other application (joe, geany, ) and every things worked well. what is the solution? info: ipv6 is disabled, fastest mirror is enable, proxy enabled and configured in yum.conf... any thing else? uh, centos is uptodate -- Best Regards, Ashkan R < ashkan82r(a)gmail.com >

iscsi root + Dracut

Hello, trying to use CentOS 6.3 from iscsi root install works without an issue, but boot will fail with iscsistart error (can't connect to iscsid) already tried to make new initramfs with dractut(with iscsi module added) but still no luck Anyone can point me to the right direction? Thanks!
