Hi Centos Team, I was here the hard days in which CentOS 6 appeared would never appear, and then was CentOS 5.6 (maybe 5.7...do not remember well) that struggled to see the light and I was very afraid CentOS would not survive... but as I was worried in the past actually I'm very impressed of the speed of latest releases: what has changed? How get a spec preprocesed with all macros expanded.

Hi, I need to get a spec file with all macro exanded, so i can extract info of some tags, that my be consitional based on macros, i know that some rpm utils need to make this to figure out dependencies and so on. I don't know if is posible to get a preprocesed spec file with actual Centos & rpm tools, if this is on librpm, i can make a simple tool to make this. Regards.

INSTALLING UPDATES-PROXY PROBLEM

Dear all I have centos 6.0 in my system and i want to update packages, so i tried the yum commands for checking and installing updates, but my proxy is objecting and i got the following error Loaded plugins: fastestmirror, refresh-packagekit Loading mirror speeds from cached hostfile Could not retrieve mirrorlist http://mirrorlist.centos.org/?release=6&arch=i386&repo=os error was 14: PYCURL ERROR 22 - "The requested URL returned error: 407" Error: Cannot find a valid baseurl for repo: base i tried with the software update GUI in centos 6.0 but still the same proxy problem....can any one please suggest how to overcome this problem and install updates for packages. Using NFSv3 and NFSv4 at the same time with CentOS6

Hi all, I have two centos6.2 servers acting as a nfs servers (nfsv3 for now). Due to some security requeriments, I need to share some folders using nfsv4 (with kerberos auth), but I have a doubt. Is it possible to serve shared folters using nfsv3 and nfsv4 (with kerberos auth) at the same time in the same server with centos6?? Nfsv3 is used to serve storage for three ESXi servers (and these ones only supports nfsv3). How can I do it?? Thanks.

Postfix master-slave configuration howto

Hi guys. I have mail loop problem. I have master server (CentOS 5.x) for domain in question (lets call it *domainX.com* ). I used virtualmin to set it up for that and several other domains. It is Bind SOA for the domain and Postfix server. I will call this server *soa.domainX.com* Now, I have added internal CentOS 6.x server to the company owner of the domain. I have given it hostname *server.domainX.com* and created *user1* on it. It has Postfix server on it, without public IP, and has *soa.domainX.com* as relay server. What I need to learn is how to set up so mail for *root(a)server.domainX.com* and *user1(a)domainX.com* stay on the *server.domainX.com* and master Postfix on *soa.domainX.com* stops refusing mail for other domains with: "554 5.4.0 Error: too many hops (in reply to end of DATA command)" I am already searching the net, but would appreciate link to howto or hint what to look for, since I mostly find irrelevant hits. Script for enabling screen savers in GNOME and KDE on Centos 5.x

Hi Friends, I am trying to configure screensavers settings on Gnome and KDE running Centos 5.x 32-bit environment. I need to prepare a script which will be push by Puppet and this script should be able to change settings like idle_delay, set customized password-protected screen saver, enabling lock etc.. I have tried below commands for Gnome and somehow the settings are not taking place. The users screensavers setting remains the same. Gnome Settings: gconftool-2 --direct --config-source xml:readwrite:/etc/gconf/gconf.xml.mandatory --type int --set /apps/gnome-screensaver/idle_delay 4 gconftool-2 --direct --config-source xml:readwrite:/etc/gconf/gconf.xml.mandatory --type boolean --set /apps/gnome-screensaver/lock_enabled true gconftool-2 --direct --config-source xml:readwrite:/etc/gconf/gconf.xml.mandatory --type boolean --set /apps/gnome-screensaver/idle_activation_enabled true gconftool-2 --direct --config-source xml:readwrite:/etc/gconf/gconf.xml.defaults --set --type list --list-type=string /apps/gnome-screensaver/themes [blank-only] On KDE I am not able to get what settings should be there for enabling idle_delay, activating the customized password protected screen saver etc.. KDE Settings $ qdbus org.freedesktop.ScreenSaver /ScreenSaver Do let me know whether any more information is required or not. Regards Ankush

Dell Online Diagnostics for Centos 6.2

Hi Guys, Has anyone successfully installed and ran the Dell Online Diagnostics for Centos 6.2? RHEL 6 is a listed as a supported OS, but it appears the install.sh shell script says it is unsupported. I have a CentOS 6.2 Desktop-Version (my Laptop). I have install remmina via rpm and want now install a plugin (rpd). I have download the pluging from: http://pkgs.org/centos-6-rhel-6/russian-fedora-free-i386/remmina-plugins-rd… But now my system is missing 3 libraries. The freerdp.i686, freerdp-devel.i686, freerdp-libs.i686 and freerdp-plugins.i686 from epel are allready installed. rpm -ihv remmina-plugins-rdp-0.9.2-5.el6.R.i686.rpm Warnung: remmina-plugins-rdp-0.9.2-5.el6.R.i686.rpm: Header V4 DSA/SHA1 Signature, Schlüssel-ID dbb6c70d: NOKEY Fehler: Fehlgeschlagende Abhängigkeiten: libfreerdp.so.0 wird benötigt von remmina-plugins-rdp-0.9.2-5.el6.R.i686 libfreerdpchanman.so.0 wird benötigt von remmina-plugins-rdp-0.9.2-5.el6.R.i686 libfreerdpkbd.so.0 wird benötigt von remmina-plugins-rdp-0.9.2-5.el6.R.i686 Where I could get this libraries for CentOS 6.2.
