Zero Configuration Networking on CentOS 5.8

Hi, I have read http://www.zeroconf.org/ Can someone please help me understand the pros and cons of Zero Configuration Networking (Zeroconf). I see the below settings. called a spammer today

thought you would find this interesting... I get a LOT of political spam on one of my mails due to hosting a political site once. I have been slowly blacklisting the bulk companies and 'the net' of private people pushing political spam. There is one guy who has been sending me stuff for years and I just have it go to the junk folder and deleted..forgot about it. New server, new rules. His came today. I wrote his university a nasty letter. I wrote him a nasty letter. (I had contacted him a few times in the years past to make him stop but he never did.) Well, tonight I got home...looked at his spam. Hey, it had his number on it. So I called him and told him to stop...told him why it bothered me. Told him somethings that happened to me in the past, what I like about websites. all sorts of junk, kept talking and making him listen to me.. He was getting impatient but I said 'now you know what it is like to have your uninteresting cr#p come in my mailbox.' He has agreed to stop spamming me....I told Him I blacklisted him anyway. I felt really good about that call...I think he will rethink his phone number on spam from now on. lol

minute cron

Hi all, CentOs has choosen anacron as default cron daemon. I did not look further about the reasons, I think there are some good reasons. I want to create a minute based set of scripts. No much precision required, once a minute more or less 20 sec is OK. Using anacron, how do you recommend to do it? Is anacron the right tool? Otherwise what's the right tool? -- RMA.

transition to ip6

I imagine some day in the near future there will be a switch to ipv6. I cannot imagine ever remembering the ip address then...crazy. My question, since i have never done ip6 stuff, is what does that mean on my webservers? Would I just need to replace my ip4 with ip6 in my eths, bonds, bridges, and configuration files...and copy out my iptables to ip6tables, and change the dns servers? all that does not sound to harsh. anything especially daunting to make that switch (save from someone having to do that on 100 computers really fast!!) -bob

NFS Hanging Under Heavy Load

Hello all, I'm currently experiencing an issue with an NFS server I've built (a Dell R710 with a Dell PERC H800/LSI 2108 and four external disk trays). It's a backup target for Solaris 10, CentOS 5.5 and CentOS 6.2 servers that mount it's data volume via NFS. It has two 10gig NICs set up in a layer2+3 bond for one network, and two more 10gig NICs set up in the same way in another network. The host has a 99T XFS filesystem for the backups. RPCNFSDCOUNT is set to 256. During backups from clients the system exhibits odd hangs that interfere with some of our sensitive system's backup windows. On the NFS server side we see the following in dmesg.
