biggest disk partition on 5.8?

Hey folks, I have a Sun J4400 SAS1 disk array with 24 x 1T drives in it connected to a Sunfire x2250 running 5.8 ( 64 bit ) I used 'arcconf' to create a big RAID60 out of (see below). print job gui for remote access

Users on Machine A with rights to log into and run jobs on Machine B using ssh want to be able to view and cancel print jobs on Machine B. This is easily accomplished via the commandline with lpq and lprm, but is there a GUI that I can give them? Force permissions by directory

Is there a way to force file permissions by directory (and subdirectories under it)? Dedup FS on 5.8

Hey folks, I have a 14TB disk array that I want to use for rsnapshot backups, and am considering putting a dedup FS onto it. I know I've got about a TB of duplication, at least. And it is not easy to remove manually. Installing CIFS on CentOS4

Hello, I have a CentOS4 install and I am trying to mount a Windows Server 2008 folder. When I use this command: mount -t cifs //10.1.1.17/Org/MR\ Ops/ test, it only mounts the Org folder. When I try the same thing on a newer computer (Fedora 15), it mounts all the way to MR Ops. So I am pretty sure that my cifs file needs to be updated, but I am having a really hard time doing this. I updated to the newest cif available for CentOS 4.9, but that still is not new enough. Can anyone tell me how to install the newer cifs on my CentOS 4? Thank you, Jeff Sadino

google.repo

This is annoying. I've got a user who needs chrome installed. I google, and find there's a google.repo. I rpm --import the signing key... and cannot find *where* on google.com I can install their own repo from. Every hit that looks even vaguely close tells me "edit /etc/yum.repos.d/google.repo. I don't want to manually create one, I want *theirs*. Clues for the poor? mark

[OT] Cannot boot into GUI after Video Driver is Installed

Good Day, I am not 100% certain if here is the right place to bring this up, however if this is the wrong place for this please redirect me to right place. A few weeks ago I was trying to install KVM on my laptop, I bought a new laptop and immediately after I install the nVidia drivers I receive the following error "libfcoe_device_notification: NETDEV_UNREGISTER lo" I spent several hours googling the error and there are several issues, however none of them are related to my situation. 200 Stream not found errors in flash player and firefox

Hi List, I have been getting the above errors for the last few months and extensive google foo has been less than conclusive - but indicates that the requesting flash player is somehow putting the wrong url content into the request. After I recently did a yum update on my wife's laptop she too started getting these errors. She has an old sony laptop running 5.8 and other than this error on various streaming tv links it is working just fine. Needless to say, she is less than thrilled with my IT skills at this point as she can no longer watch her favourite TV programs. So I decided to try and track down the problem on my own machine (CentOS 6.2) where yumex allows you to see and load older versions of a package. I started with a downgrade (and then a 2nd one .... and then the 5th one) of libflashplayer.so - fortunately rpmforge has older versions. Going right back to a 10.x version did not fix the problem. Thus I guess it is a firefox / xulrunner problem, however I am not happy to go back too many versions here as the exploit potential is much higher. Then I tried konqueror with flash enabled and guess what - no problems with any of the links that fail under firefox / libflashplayer. So my question to the list members - does anyone else have this problem with flash under firefox?? What do I do to fix it? TIA Rob
