failed exaile install

I'm trying to install the exaile package on my newly upgraded CentOS 6.4 machine. It fails (see below) with missing dependencies on python-cddb and gnome-python2-gtkmozembed. I found this thread but there does not seem to be any resolution. \ Has anyone got this installed? Am I missing a repo? There is a unix command called repeat. repeat 10 some_command Basically repeats some command ten times. Is it available on Centos 6 and what package provides it?

Configuring source-specific routing

I'm attempting to configure source-specific routing so that my servers can exist on multiple subnets from multiple upstream providers. A rough diagram of the network layout: ISP1 router (blackbox, routes subnet A, address on subnet A) \ -----------eth0(firewall)eth1---((servers)) / ISP2 router (blackbox, routes subnet B, address on subnet B) The aim is to allow the servers to use both subnet A and subnet B. To allow this, any machine on both subnets must have source-specific routing configured, else packets originating from one ISP's AS will be directed at the other's router, and neither ISP cares for that. At the moment, I'm focusing on getting the second ISP properly added to the firewall box. The firewall box is using CentOS 6.4, and normally passes traffic back and forth via proxy_arp. None of my interfaces are NM_CONTROLLED, and NetworkManager is not installed, much less started. I've created a route-eth0:1 file that looks roughly like this: 10.0.0.1 dev eth0:1 \ src 10.0.0.2 \ from 10.0.0.0/29 default via 10.0.0.1 dev eth0:1 \ src 10.0.0.2 \ from 10.0.0.0/29 (Treat indented lines as continuations of the previous line) (No, the ISPs aren't giving me RFC1918 addresses; these are redacted.) If I run "ifup eth0:1", "ip route show" includes the lines: 10.0.0.1 dev eth0 scope link src 10.0.0.2 10.0.0.0/29 dev eth0 proto kernel scope link src 10.0.0.2 default via 10.0.0.1 dev eth0 Note that the "from 10.0.0.0/29" clause is missing. With the addition of a second default route on my firewall/gateway without any restriction on which traffic should go that way, my whole network, of course, tanks. I'm surprised it's been such a pain; I would have expected it to be a relatively common configuration. What's the proper way of doing source-specific routing on CentOS?

Kickstart and volume group with a dash in the name

Hi, I'm trying to setup the provisioning of new OpenStack hypervisors with cinder volumes on them. The problem is that kickstart doesn't allow dashed in volume group names? I tried this: volgroup cinder-volumes --pesize=4096 pv.02 and this: volgroup cinder--volumes --pesize=4096 pv.02 but in both cases I end up with a volume group named "cindervolumes" on the system. Any idea what I have to do to accomplish this? Defining VGs with dashes works perfectly fine on the command line. Regards, Denis

........But I'm trying to give my son a "cool-yet-kind-of-geeky" 13th Birthday Present......he hinted he liked the CentOS logo, but where would I find things that are branded with it?....searching the web doesn't really help me much, only because I'm not sure what I need to be looking for...any help would be greatly appreciated! Anyone know off the top of their heads if this (AT-2972SX) fiber network card will work out of the box with CentOS 6.x? Sounds like it's a Broadcom-based card, so perhaps it will, or maybe something exists for it in elrepo? Hoping to avoid needing to build custom drivers from source. Ray

trying to recover an audio CD...

I'm trying to recover data from an audio cd. it is a recording of a live session, made on a professional cd recorder, on the fly. apparently, instead of stopping it and fixating the disc, someone turned off the power. oops. I know that wodim will fixate a disk as long as it was otherwise properly terminated (I've done it more than once), but this one it won't fixate. depending on the drive I try it in, I get different messages, but in either case, it remains unfixated. so i've tried reading it with cdparanoia, but it can't do anything with it, or not that I've figured out how to do. It is time consuming, but if you really want it.... flashing a BIOS on an HP server

Hi, folks, Since I've gotten a total of one response in days on the HP forum, maybe the collective mind here has an answer.... As I've mentioned in other posts, we have an HP dl580 g5 that started throwing ECC errors. But wait, it's worse: memory is mirrored.... And the thing is fully populated with 32 DIMMs. I took my best guess, pulled the matching set of DIMMs, and took two off of one of the four riser boards to replace them. I find that the m/b *must* be fully populated before adding riser boards... *and* the riser boards are mirrored. So I had to pull two riser boards, the one I'd taken two DIMMs off of, and it's mirror. Brought it back up, no errors. Then, Monday, I tried replacing one of the two, apparently good riser boards with one that I'd taken out, and had put the two DIMMs that I was guessing included the bad one. I *still* can't provoke the error. Maybe it only happens when I have everything fully populated? (I've run stress to the point where all 2G of swap is used....) Meanwhile, I'd joined an HP forum, and someone suggested that I really, really needed a BIOS update, and that would fix it. Sounds plausible. However, when I found the d/l of that, I ran into three things: first, the damn thing was an .exe, and they do *not* seem to have a .bin. Second, the "description" (laughable, at best) didn't seem to say anything about ECC errors, but whatever. Then there's the biggie: it *seems* to say that I have to install a previous BIOS update first... but I'm not sure. I would have thought it was a full package. Now, as the system is long out of warranty, and there's no way the other Institute will spring to pay HP, they won't even talk to me about *anything*, so I'm on my own. The upshot: does anyone here have a clue as to whether I can flash update the BIOS with the latest update, or whether I actually have to do the older one first? Thanks in advance. mark
