Wireless USB adaptor recommendation

Hello, can someone recommend me wireless USB adaptor, which is supported in Centos 5.7? I found information about various chipsets, but nothing like "device X is OK". In most online stores the chipset is not announced. Thanks in advance.

Where did yum install monodevelop?

Hello all, I'm running CentOS 6.4. Today I tried installing monodevelop and this is the result of the installation: http://bin.cakephp.org/view/258829139 Now. When I went to my terminal and ran monodevelop... nothing. When I tried to locate the actual executable by running find . -name "*monodevelop*" (kinda overkill, but figured that I'd get this option out of the way), I couldn't find anything. So, now, I'm scratching my head and wondering what to do next :) . Where did I mess up? Am I not starting monodevelop correctly? If so, how should I start it?

Backup of large filesystems >500GB

I've a small system that I use to support a number of churches. I provide web and email for them. My current server is running CentOS 6.3 with paired 1TB drives in a RAID1 configuration. It works well. One filesystem is very large, >500GB, and contains numerous large files: SQL, docs, church libraries in ebook and digital form, plus stored videos of church services. My problem is that I've found no means of backing up that file system. Dump and tar both error out as exceeding the maximum size. Neither will backup just the video directory (the largest) even with compression. Backup will be to an external (USB) removable HD. Run multiple instance of apache

Hello everybody, I am trying to run 2 instances of apache on centos since 2 weeks with no lucks :S, exactly on the same IP address but different port. I've set up two configuration as follow: /etc/httpd and /etc/httpd2, and I duplicated the httpd service, so now I have 2 httpd service each one run an httpd conf. Now when I am trying to restart the first httpd service, it give the following httpd: Could not reliably determine the server's fully qualified domain name, using 127.0.0.1 for ServerName but the status is OK. And when I try to restart the httpd2 service, it give the same error with a failed status. Some internet research told that I have to put a serverName in httpd.conf (server name was commented) so I change it with the hostname of my VM. Now when I try to restart httpd2 the error message disappear, but his status is always failed. N.B. My first httpd.conf don't have a serverName. My /etc/hosts contain only: 127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain localhost ::1 localhost6.localdomain6 localhost6 Any help will be appreciated. Dell R320 server

Is there a way on Dell R320 (two power supplies and hardware RAID-1) on centos to get a message that a power supply is failing or that one of the hardware RAID disks is failing? Sure there is the front panel - but no-one is there ... Is that reported to linux/centos some way? This is my first R320. Thanks, Jerry

Centos 6.4: Possible bug in system-config-network-cmd

I'm having a puzzling problem with system-config-network-cmd in CentOS 6.4. I have a workstation with a number of different grub boot configurations (a spare for a set of workstations, basically), each of which has a parameter MYHOST=<hostname>, and I am using system-config-network-cmd to set the boot configuration during the network process (using a small custom system service that runs just before network startup, reads the configuration name from /proc/cmdline and calls "system-config-network-cmd -p <configname>"). I have properly disabled NetworkManager, and have /etc/sysconfig/networking/devices and .../profiles set up correctly AFAIK (it was all copied from a CentOS 5 machine, and the hand links were maintained properly as needed; such a PITA that they got rid of the very nice GUI for this). This all works great, EXCEPT that if the machine is booted a fixed-IP profile, the the DHCP ifcfg file also winds up in /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts. So, if I have in profiles/dhcp/ifcfg-eth0_dhcp (with a hardlink in devices/, of course): TYPE=Ethernet DEVICE=eth0 HWADDR=<MAC redacted> BOOTPROTO=dhcp ONBOOT=yes USERCTL=no IPV6INIT=no PEERDNS=yes and in profiles/fixed/ifcfg-eth0_fixed GATEWAY=x.y.z.1 TYPE=Ethernet DEVICE=eth0 HWADDR=<MAC redacted> BOOTPROTO=none NETMASK=255.255.255.0 IPADDR=x.y.z.n ONBOOT=yes USERCTL=no IPV6INIT=no PEERDNS=yes If I boot into fixed, I find that ifcfg-eth0_dhcp is also in network-scripts, and it tries to activate this interface, even though this interface is NOT in profiles/fixed in any way! This worked great in CentOS 5, so I think I know what I'm doing here? For now, I am "fixing" the issue by running a find on network-scripts to remove inappropriate files after running systme-config-network-cmd, but that is complete cheese, of course. Is there something missing from ifcfg-eth0_dhcp that is confusing the system-config-network-cmd script? Is there any documentation on this that's helpful? Libcurl.so.3: wherefore art thou?

I am utterly stumped. I need libcurl.so.3 for CentOS 6.4. I have Googled everything and I have been going all over the Internet looking for a solution. I give up; I need help. The error message I get when I try to run a program is: error while loading shared libraries: libcurl.so.3: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory I have: Package libcurl-7.19.7-36.el6_4.i686 already installed and latest version Package python-pycurl-7.19.0-8.el6.i686 already installed and latest version Package curl-7.19.7-36.el6_4.i686 already installed and latest version Package libcurl-devel-7.19.7-36.el6_4.i686 already installed and latest version I also have git installed (yes, I know about the EPEL conflict giving me a 5.9 version) and I do have the CentOS 6 version installed)...no dice. Can anyone help me?
