In this case, the floor is not the best environment for the equipment, the adjacent rack has only 1U of short-depth rack space available, and the desktop is already crowded with keyboards and monitors. Since the reqirements are (relatively) modest (except those two), I was hoping to squeeze something in. Looks like I'm out of luck, and buying another full tower to hold a motherboard, a disk drive, and one expansion card. bonding interface instable

Hi all, i recently found that some frontend servers (Centos6) show: kernel: bonding: bond0: link status definitely up for interface eth2. kernel: bonding: bond0: link status definitely down for interface eth2, disabling it kernel: bonding: bond0: link status definitely up for interface eth2. On some days frequently and on others none. hi, I am trying to find out what compile flags and environment variables were used when compiling the python package. Is there an easy way of figuring this out? perhaps a website which shows the RPM specs? -- --- Get your facts first, then you can distort them as you please.--

Openssl vulnerability - SSL/ TLS Renegotion Handshakes

Hi, I'm currently at CentOS 5.8. I'm using openssl version openssl-0.9.8e-22.el5. The following vulnerability was reported by a Nessus security scan: "SSL/ TLS Renegotion Handshakes MiTm Plaintext Data Injection" As per following link, Redhat has introduced openssl-0.9.8m which fixes this specific issue: https://access.redhat.com/site/articles/20490#Updates_adding_RFC_5746_suppo… I created rpm for openssl-0.9.8m using tarball and when I tried to install it, I got "libssl.so.6()(64bit) is needed by <rpm name>" errors which would be solved by installing openssl098e rpm. This rpm is a part of CentOS 6 and so I can't install it. Do we have openssl-0.9.8m or higher rpm available for CentOS 5? Or any other way I could resolve errors "libssl.so.6()(64bit) is needed by <rpm name>"? Or any suggestions on the mentioned "SSL/ TLS Renegotion Handshakes" vulnerability? Thanks, Anumeha

Why libnetfilter_queue is missing from CentOS, but available in, Fedora?

I am asking this on behalf of the HIPL developers; http://infrahip.hiit.fi/ https://launchpad.net/hipl They have been working on getting their code consistant to the new libnetfilter architecture. Finally have Fedora 18 and 19 available, but have hit a stumbling block with Centos 6. They tell me they are not finding libnetfilter_queue. Autofs - can you mount only certain home dirs?

Does autofs take completed control of directories mentioned in auto.master? The examples with /home show that you can specify individual users instead of * and &, but even then it seems to take over the whole /home level so you can't see or add local subdirs. I have a small group of users/hosts where I would like to at least temporarily mix/match who is automounted or not. -- Les Mikesell lesmikesell(a)gmail.com

What FileSystems for large stores and very very large stores?

I was learning about the different FS exists. I was working on systems that ReiserFS was the star but since there is no longer support from the creator there are other consolidations to be done. I want to ask about couple FS options. EXT4 which is amazing for one node but for more it's another story. I have heard about GFS2 and GlusterFS and read the docs and official materials from RH on them. In the RH docs it states the EXT4 limit files per directory is 65k and I had a directory which was pretty loaded with files and I am unsure exactly what was the size but I am almost sure it was larger the 65k files per directory. I was considering using GlusterFS for a very large storage system with NFS front. I am still unsure EXT4 should or shouldn't be able to handle more then 16TB since the linux kernel ext4 docs at: https://www.kernel.org/doc/Documentation/filesystems/ext4.txt in section 2.1 it states: * ability to use filesystems > 16TB (e2fsprogs support not available yet). so can I use it or not?? if there are no tools to handle this size then I cannot trust it. I want to create a storage with more then 16TB based on GlusterFS since it allows me to use 2-3 rings FS which will allow me to put the storage in a form of: 1 client -> HA NFS servers -> GlusterFS cluster. it seems to more that GlusterFS is a better choice then Swift since RH do provide support for it. qemu-kvm package?

I just did a clean net install of CentOS 6.4 and when I run virt-manager it says that qemu-kvm is missing, but when I try to install it with yum it says that there isn't a package with that name. Is something wrong with my configuration? Or what is causing this package to appear as not available? Thanks, Dave
