Fwd: Centos and logs

Hello, may be anyone familiar with some tool for viewing logs. I mean web-interface based, simple solution. I have developers, and I can't give them access to my Centos servers, but they want to see logs of Apache. I want to give them address like 172.17.17.21/logs and they will be able to watch logs of Apache in browser. I was looking a lot for something like this, but didn't find. Centos 7 Nvidia openGL breaks vncserver

Bare metal Centos 6.5, vncserver running, client able to connect with perfect resolution. Nvidia GT240, driver 331.49. Upgrade to Centos 7 with nouveau basic driver, all still works fine. Resolution poor on wire connected monitor, but perfect on vnc client session (1920x1080). Upgrade Nvidia driver via elrepo. 340.58; removed nouveau via 'Software' manager. Excellent wired monitor resolution. But >> Client vnc connect receives the dreaded 'oh no, something has .....' Backed out Nvidia 340.58, back to nouveau, client vnc works again. Also tried 304 driver (only other one in elrepo for el7) - same problem. Research seems to indicate that openGL does not play well with vnc. I cannot see any solutions posted as yet. So, what are my options? Maybe change out the video card for AMD? I cannot know if the Catalyst driver will work, but there is a much more active and extensive open driver community, which could work better than nouveau? And I noted the Linus 'salute' to Nvidia....... Good timing. Stan

cr repo firefox el6.6 crashes on 6.5

Noticed firefox is one of the only critical sec. updates from 6.6. So I manually downloaded the rpm from cr repo and rpm -Uvh firefox-31.2.0-3.el6.centos.x86_64.rpm but it crashes with /usr/lib64/firefox/firefox: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib64/firefox/libxul.so: undefined symbol: gdk_window_get_visual

FreeIPA 4.1.1 does not install on Cntos7

Hi, We're looking to run freeipa 4.1.1 on CentOS 7. 1. after include: * mkosek-freeipa-epel-7.repo 2. Write this: * yum install freeipa-server 3. I get this error: * Error: Package: pki-base-10.2.0-3.el7.centos.noarch (mkosek-freeipa) * Requires: jackson-jaxrs-json-provider I would appreciate any ideas. -- Cosme Faria Corrêa

automated stopserver & shutdown?

Dear All In an environment , I have 20 centos servers running together . For shutting them down , I need to issue the followings on each of the servers : #./stopServer #init 0 This is cumbersome to try to issue these on huge amount of servers to keep them safely going shutdown. Can you please let me know how can I automate it and say let just one server send stop processes and shutdown commands to the other ones and then goes shutdown himself? Thank you

Anyone have a Brother multifunction working on Centos 7?

I have a Brother MFC 7360N, and it is refusing to print. Given a job, the printer state shows, "Sending data to printer"; the file is in the spool dir; the job queue is empty, and nothing more happens. I had used the Brother driver installer, and ran into a 32-bit problem. The rpm runs braddprinter, which fails looking for /lib/ld-linux.so.2. I don't know what braddprinter does, but I then tried setting up the printer through the system printer config. Everything seems to go ok. A driver is in /usr/share/cups. I tried to install glibc.i686, but it wants glibc-common. I have the 64-bit glibc-common package but do not see a i686 one available. Thanks in adv.

Installing old version of firefox

I need to install firefox version 24.3.0 on centos version 6.5. Anyone know how I can do that? I tried downloading that version directly and it fails with: XPCOMGlueLoad error for file /usr/local/lib64/firefox/libxul.so: libXrender.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory Couldn't load XPCOM.

x2go - F20 to Centos 7

All my attempts to access a Centos 7 machine from Fedora 20 using x2go have failed with these error messages in /var/log/secure: Nov 17 16:42:08 datium sshd[4175]: Accepted publickey for dad from 127.0.0.1 port 43005 ssh2: RSA c5:d0:02:e7:90:ce:8b:bb:65:b2:78:66:29:8c:c8:15 Nov 17 16:42:08 datium sshd[4175]: pam_unix(sshd:session): session opened for user dad by (uid=0) Nov 17 16:42:08 datium sshd[4185]: subsystem request for sftp by user dad Nov 17 16:42:09 datium sshd[4185]: Received disconnect from 127.0.0.1: 11: disconnected by user Nov 17 16:42:09 datium sshd[4175]: pam_unix(sshd:session): session closed for user dad The Centos 7 machine is virtualized in kvm, running on another F20 machine, but that shouldn't matter. ssh is configured to allow access via public/private keys and works fine. sshd seems to have a problem with "subsystem request for sftp", whatever that means, but I have verified that I can run 'sftp datwizkvm' and get access to my home directory there. When x2go has negotiated the public key transaction, an XFCE window pops up for about 1 sec and then vanishes. This leads me to speculate that the problem is more to do with starting X than making the connection. In the opposite direction, x2goclient on the Centos 7 machine will happily open and run an XFCE display of the Fedora 20 machine. Does anyone have insight about why the connection is asymmetric? Has anyone experienced this kind of failure? Any hints how to fix it? -- David A. De Graaf DATIX, Inc.
