Realtek device 5249 kernel module for C6 - a request to epel

Hi, I try to make my SD-reader work on a HP ZBook. lspci 5d:00.0 Unassigned class [ff00]: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. Device 5249 (rev 01) uname -a Linux Antisana.psc-elsene.be 2.6.32-431.17.1.el6.x86_64 #1 SMP Wed May 7 23:32:49 UTC 2014 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux Googling gave me http://linuxterminal.org/issue-with-rts5229-pci-express-card-reader/; last reply by François suggests to download the Realtek 5229 driver, edit the Makefile and rtsx.c and compile. And it works as stated. It would be handy if this module could be incorporated with epel. But I can't find the right way to make such a request. (shame on me) Thanks for any pointer Patrick

Custom respin ISO prompting for discs

I'm creating a custom install / respin ISO with updated packages and a kickstart - starting from CentOS 6.5 minimal install DVD. I'm generally following the directions from http://smorgasbork.com/component/content/article/35-linux/128-building-a-cu… . I can create the iso, boot, have it find the installation media (it prints "Found local installation media"), partition the disks, resolve the dependencies, and then when it gets to "Starting installation" it prompts with "Please insert CentOS disc 1 to continue". Debugging I've done so far (all but 4 result in the prompt for disc 1): 1. I've verified that the package set I have resolves all dependencies by testing the installation into a new rpmdb. 2. I've copied over the minimal install DVD contents directly, placed comps.xml in the Packages directory, and recreated repodata (using 'createrepo -g Packages/comps.xml -o . Packages/"). 3. Built on both CentOS 6.5 (with all updates) and Fedora 20. 4. Also tried to minimal DVD _without_ running createrepo (just placed the kickstart in the root of the image). This worked fine. That 4 works suggest that createrepo is at fault, but I can't for the life of me figure out what is going on. I've done this without a base url (-u) and with (using 'head -1 .discinfo). Can anyone offer some suggestions for how to debug further? Thanks - Karl

nodejs, epel, SCL

Hello, With SCL and epel repositories enabled, some dependencies for the package name 'nodejs' get satisfied with libs from SCL which are placed in paths that are not part of my user's environment. Is there a method to make sure that nodeJS from epel dependencies are only satisfied from epel? numa support question on centos 6.5

Hi, All The vm can't start when using numa based on centos 6.5(kernel: kernel-2.6.32-431.17.1.el6.x86_64, qemu-kvm: qemu-kvm-0.12.1.2-2.415.el6_5.8.x86_64). My numa setting in vm xml is the following: -------------------- <numatune> <memory mode='strict' nodeset='1'/> </numatune> -------------------- When 'nodeset' sets '0', the vm can start; However, when setting it to 1, it can't start and report the following error: ---------------------------- error: Failed to start domain testbsd error: internal error Process exited while reading console log output: char device redirected to /dev/pts/1 kvm_create_vcpu: Cannot allocate memory Failed to create vCPU. traffic distribution not happening in centos 6.5

Hi, I am experimenting with libnetfilter_queue. libnetfilter_queue is a userspace library providing an API to packets that have been queued by the kernel packet filter. I am using sample code(nfqnl_test.c) available on netfilter.org. I have generated two binaries (queue0 and queue1) using that nfqnl_test.c sample code. These binaries are working as per expected behaviour in case of Centos 6.2 but with Centos 6.5 only one queue is receiving network traffic. I am not able to understand why only one queue is receiving network traffic in case of Centos 6.5 whereas same network traffic is being distributed in both the queues with Centos 6.2. uname –a :- Linux hwcentos8 2.6.32-431.el6.x86_64 #1 SMP Fri Nov 22 03:15:09 UTC 2013 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux Machine Info: 16 core machine with 64GB RAM. CentOS 6 KVM networking: What am I missing???

OK, I have a strange problem. It is probably something simple/stupid, but I cannot figure it out. I have a nice new PowerEdge T20 that I installed CentOS 6 (6.5) on with Virtualization (KVM). Machines on the LAN (eg my laptop) can connect to Ububtu VM. *BUT* the host server cannot connect to the Ububtu VM and the Ububtu cannot connect to the host server.
