Hi there, I have a CentOS 6.5 installation and I'll like to upgrade to 7.0, which are the steps to follow in order to get this done and mantain 6.5 services and configuration? Regards and thx in advance

The only difference between disabled and permissive is all the noise you get. But actually permissive can be a way to get info you need to create policies so you CAN run in enforcing. Moving sshd listen port

I edit sshd_config and set the desired port, open it with firewall-cmd and then issue a systemctl start sshd. No error gets reported on the console but the following is logged in /var/messages sshd.service: main process exited, code=exited, status=255/n/a Not a very helpful error message. Sounds like I should report a bug? beeps and a slow boot

On boot, my computer has been beeping at me and showing the BIOS screen for almost two minutes. During that time, it does not respond to tab or delete. Can't verify gpg signature for the file with hashes for the CentOS 7

Hello there. I've just downloaded the CentOS v7.0 via torrent and am trying to verify the gpg signature for the file with hashes. When I do "gpg --verify sha256sum.txt.asc" I get the key ID of F4A80EB5. Then I'm trying to get the public key with "gpg --keyserver pgp.mit.edu --recv-keys F4A80EB5" command. The gpg returns error of "no valid OpenPGP data found". Does anyone have an idea of why the public key isn't there? Is there another keyserver I should try? I must have hit a nerve. I didn't say it was windows-like. I said it was more windows-like than I was comfortable with. Even with multiple daemons, It's still not very transparent, somewhat incomrehensible, documented poorly while still managing to have voluminous documentation, dumps stuff everywhere, and is just generally annoying. Even its sysv compatibility is incomplete. It runs sysv scripts, but in such a way as to break any but the simplest. I've run into situations where I've actually had to make a systemd unit because it broke the script, and I couldn't fix it. The script was fine, ran perfectly if you just ran it, and systemd did... *something*... to it. I still haven't figured out what. And debugging is an absolute pain. And that's all I'm saying in response to you. Keep this up and my killfile will have one more entry. --Russell
