is rpmforge now considered 'friendly' with EPEL? I normally only use EPEL as an addition repo, but one package I want to install on this one system is ffmpeg, and I'm finding it on rpmforge only... but its install wants to mix epel and rpmforge packages... KVM Remote

Have a few Supermicro based CentOS boxes at remote date center. Is there anyway to do a remote KVM over TCP to them for the case when they do not seem to come back after a reboot?

saving at jobs

I can easily save cron jobs in a file by doing this: crontab -l > file.txt And I can restore it with crontab file.txt Is there any way to do the same thing with at jobs? The closest thing that I've managed to find is this: #!/bin/bash atq for each in $(atq | cut -f 1); do echo "JOB $each"; at -c $each; done That works but the output is very wordy and there is no way to restore it other than manually going through the output file and re-entering each job. -- MELVILLE THEATRE ~ Real D 3D Digital Cinema ~ www.melvilletheatre.com

mirrorlist returns wrong servers

Hi, We're using CentOS on various servers in Japan. Recently, I found that mirrorlist.centos.org returns servers in China. It makes "yum update" slow. This problem occurs on "update" repo. Additionally, the mirrorlist returns correct list when we throw a request via IPv6. I think the mirrorlist has wrong list of "update" repo for Japan. Are there any things that I've missed? repoquery -f does not work well.

Hi. I've found inconstancy between output of repoquery and rpm. I was looking forward towards apache php 5.4 module which must provided by some package SCL (can someone tell me?). rpm -qf /etc/httpd/modules/mod_proxy.so httpd-2.2.15-29.el6.centos.x86_64 repoquery -qf /etc/httpd/modules/mod_proxy.so so repoquery results in no output yum list installed httpd Loaded plugins: fastestmirror Loading mirror speeds from cached hostfile * c6-media: Installed Packages httpd.x86_64 2.2.15-29.el6.centos @c6-media repoquery -qa httpd httpd-0:2.2.15-29.el6.centos.x86_64 No wonder libphp5.so results in no output.

bizarre problem with performance

Hi, I am running centos6-5 on dell620 blades. mirrored local root drives several (including home) mounted filesystems. The other blades are working fine. Top indicates the server is running 1% cpu, and very little memory (idleing) There is no error in the messages file There is no amber lights on the server. When I log into my server it is fine, on my remote mounted home directory. When I cd to root (local disk) and I type ls it just hangs. I ran top, the system is basically idle I ran ifconfig and everything looks good. when I ran df -h it hangs when I run ls on my home directory it is fine when I run ls on my root directory it hangs when I run df -k it hangs I can go into any remote mounted directory and everything works fine. any suggestions.
