I want to connect to a l2tp server from centos.

I have a server currently connecting to a pptp remote server. This server(lns\lac) has the option for pptp connections and l2tp connections. The l2tp connections are not using ipsec encryption at all. I have seen couple guides\tutorials on the internet: - https://raymii.org/s/tutorials/IPSEC_L2TP_vpn_on_CentOS_-_Red_Hat_Enterpris… - https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/L2TP/IPsec_VPN_client_setup But all the guides that I have found are using ipsec with "secret". On ubuntu there is a gui applet that helps setting these kind of connections up but I am working with a CentOS server and not Ubuntu desktop. If someone used l2tp the same way I want to use on CentOS 7 please give me some advice. If you have a guide which might help me I will be more then happy to see this one. Thanks, Eliezer

Broadcom BCM4313 support broken with kernel 2.6.32-573.7.1.el6.centos.plus.x86_64?

Hello, I noticed that with latest kernel (2.6.32-573.7.1.el6.centos.plus.x86_64), my laptop's Wifi doesn't work, whereas with previous kernel (2.6.32-504.30.3.el6.centos.plus.x86_64), it works fine. Is this a known issue or did I miss something new? BTW, `lspci` says: Broadcom Corporation BCM4313 802.11bgn Wireless Network Adapter (rev 01) Regards, -- wwp

Any further developments on CentOS7 for i386?

Well I haven't tested out the CentOS 7 for i386 yet as sent in the message of 06/02-- https://lists.centos.org/pipermail/centos-devel/2015-June/013426.html Nor have I seen any additional information. So how is this going? Can anyone shine any light on this? A little search on Google mentions faulty memory, I will install memtest today and see what the output is like. Thanks Michael

safest way to grow a LV under VMware ESXi5.5

Hello all, In your view, what is the most reliable and safe way to increase an LV housing the root filesystem of a Centos 6 VM. I am thinking either growing the virtual HD virtual device, or creating a new device and adding it as a PV to the VM, or perhaps migrating the whole FS to a new virtual disk. Any input on how best to proceed would be appreciated. Cheers, Boris.

use pssh to restart a service

Hi all, I need to restart a service on a few elasticsearch nodes. I'm trying to do it with pssh. I'm getting this error when I try to do that: pssh -h es_list "/bin/sudo -S /bin/systemctl restart elasticsearch" [1] 17:01:50 [FAILURE] bluethundr(a)es2.example.com Exited with error code 1 [2] 17:01:51 [FAILURE] bluethundr(a)es3.example.com Exited with error code 1 [3] 17:01:51 [FAILURE] bluethundr(a)es1.example.com Exited with error code 1 I have to sudo up from my user account as root logins are disallowed. However a simple 'echo hello' command that doesn't require sudo works fine: #pssh -h es_list "/bin/echo hello" [1] 17:00:40 [SUCCESS] bluethundr(a)es1.example.com [2] 17:00:41 [SUCCESS] bluethundr(a)es3.example.com [3] 17:00:41 [SUCCESS] bluethundr(a)es2.example.com What am I doing wrong? OT Strange IP address on home network

C7: screensaver locks screen

Strange thing just began happening this past weekend with my Centos-7 netbook (using the MATE desktop, which may mean it's an EPEL problem...). the lock screen checkbox in the screensaver's UI is NOT checked. I've even used the dconf editor to uncheck ALL the boxes in the screensaver section that relate to locking the screen. nada. no such luck. even after rebooting, it still locks the screen. Disaster recovery recommendations

Greetings, I have three drives; they are all SATA Seagate Barracudas; two are 500GB; the third is a 2TB. I don't have a clear reason why they have failed (possibly due to a deep, off-brand, flakey mobo; but it's still inconclusive, but I would like to find a disaster recovery service that can hopefully recover the data.
