Seems libvirt are broken in centos7? I can start it but Virsh list for example: Connection refused Kvm are installed And the kvm driver installed

network automatically connecting on boot after new service installation

2 weeks ago, i had my internet service changed from copper DSL to fiber DSL. now, every time i reboot, internet connection is automatically connecting on boot. before last update to 6.6, i could configure connection, now i can not bring up configuration window to disable auto connect. because of uneasy feelings about leaving computer up when i leave home, i disconnect 'bell line' so that when i am gone and have a mains failure and ups shuts down, i will not have internet connected when mains restore. also makes for uneasy feeling when retiring for night. :-) what do i have to do to change this? any and all replies / suggestions greatly appreciated. tia. -- peace out. in a world with out fences, who needs gates. Hi! I'm running CentOS 7. Looking at the default policies of various zones, I've come to realize that only the drop zone has an affect, that's because this's the only one which drops unmatched packets.

Centos 7.0 and mismatched swap file

Everyone, I am putting together a new mail server for our firm using a SuperMicro with Centos 7.0. When performed the install of the os, I put 16 gigs of memory in the wrong slots on the mother board which caused the SuperMicro to recognize 8 gigs instead of 16 gigs. When I installed Centos 7.0, this error made the swap file 8070 megs instead of what I would have expected to be a over 16000 megs. I am using the default xfs file system on the other partitions. Is there a way to expand the swap file? If not, then is this problem sufficiently bad enough for me to start over with a new install. I do not want to start over unless I need to. I have setup my machine to relay through smtp.gmail.com installed cyrus-sasl-md5 cyrus-sasl-plain Added to access: AuthInfo:smtp.gmail.com "U:smmsp" "I:my accont" "P:my pass" "M:PLAIN" AuthInfo:smtp.gmail.com:587 "U:smmsp" "I:my account" "P:my pass" "M:PLAIN" Added to sendmail.mc the SMART_HOST smtp.gmail.com uncommented the pki lines define(`confCACERT_PATH', `/etc/pki/tls/certs')dnl define(`confCACERT', `/etc/pki/tls/certs/ca-bundle.crt')dnl define(`confSERVER_CERT', `/etc/pki/tls/certs/sendmail.pem')dnl define(`confSERVER_KEY', `/etc/pki/tls/certs/sendmail.pem')dnl set the confAUTH_MECHANISMS restarted sendmail It seems like sendmail is trying to use port 25 as the log shows "connection timeout". I did this to two other machines and it worked. the third one is being stubborn. Any suggestions to look at ??? Jerry

OT: Extracting Subject Lines from IMAP Mailbox

Looking for a command-line way to extract only the Subject lines from my mailbox on my ISP's IMAP server, without actually downloading/modifying the contents of the mailbox. CentOS6 box fails

Dear All, I used to use CentOS 6 on my desktop without any issues until this morning. Booting stops after the libvirt-guests and certmonger init script. I don't start any guests at boot-time. In rc3.d is only the S99local script after certmongers. Normally, I just suspend this box, so I'm not sure when I rebooted it last time successfully. Does anyone happen to know why booting stops? I haven't found any hints in /v/l/messages. I think I have to reinstall this machine. -- Gruß, Christian

CentOS 7 on dual-monitor workstation?

Hi, My workstation is currently running Slackware Linux 14.1 64-bit, and I'm considering replacing that by CentOS 7, which I've already installed on my laptop. The PC has an NVidia GeForce GT 520 video card with two 19'' monitors attached to it. I'm using the proprietary 'nvidia' driver. I vaguely remember having read somewhere that RHEL/CentOS 7 with GNOME 3 had trouble with dual monitors. Now since this is my main workhorse PC, I thought I'd rather ask before migrating, just to be on the safe side. Anybody on this list running CentOS 7 on a similar hardware configuration? If I remember correctly from the time spent with CentOS 5.x, the proprietary 'nvidia' drivers are best configured using the third-party ELRepo package repository. Correct me if I'm wrong. Teaming on qemu.

Hi! For testing purposes, I'm trying to setup teaming on my VM which runs CentOS 7. I've 2 gigabit NICs emulated which are connected to a tun device on the host. I can ping to the tun device on the host when directly using the interface (of course when teaming is disabled), when using the team interface, I can't. The team link is made as such -- teamd -f /etc/teamd.conf Contents of teamd.conf -- { "device" : "team0", "runner" : { "name" : "roundrobin" }, "ports" : { "enp0s3" : {}, "enp0s4" : {} } }

Custom wallpaper on CentOS 7?

Hi, I just installed CentOS 7 + GNOME on my Asus S300 laptop. So far everything runs very nice and smoothly, and I'm quite happy with it. Curiously enough, I can't seem to be able to set a custom wallpaper. I tried various locations like /usr/share/backgrounds, /usr/share/backgrounds/gnome and /usr/share/backgrounds/images, but the images don't appear in the wallpaper selection window. Any suggestions?
