Hi All, I've been tuning a server recently and just today this has started to appear in my top/htop output. [root@db1 ~]# ps -aux | grep kernel root 1011 0.0 0.0 212048 4532 ? Can anyone shine any light on this? A little search on Google mentions faulty memory, I will install memtest today and see what the output is like. Thanks Michael

Update from 6.6 to 6.7 > automount logs error message

Hello, after an update from 6.6 to 6.7 the following error message is logged to /var/log/messages when I login (per ssh): Aug 11 16:31:21 a1234 automount[1598]: set_tsd_user_vars: failed to get passwd info from getpwuid_r Checked all log-files of my systems running 6.6 with same configuration -- never got such a message (We use NFS/autofs for home-directories, NIS and tcsh (login shell)). Everything seems to work -- but before I update all machines to 6.7 I want to know whats going on. Any comments? Best regards, Ralf

LUKS encypted partition using --key-file can only be decrypted with --key-file

This worked fine, and I can decrypt the LUKS partition via script and manually using --key-file with luksOpen. The odd problem is that I can't decrypt the partition using the prompt. If I manually create a file with the passphrase in it and then point to it with --key-file, it decrypts fine. I used 'cat -A /tmp/foo' to verify that there was no '\n' at the end of the phrase. Is this expected behaviour? That is; If you create an encrypted partition using --key-file, you always decrypt with the same? If so, I can't understand the logic... If not, then I am not sure what I am doing wrong. One of the build options for a laptop I'm looking at buying is DVD vs Blu-Ray. I've never used Blue-ray before, so is there some compelling reason, as a Linux guy, to want to get Blu-ray?

Hi, all! How to setup own i686 mock for CentOS7? Or, is there any public i686 repo for CentOS7? I found i686 repo available in internal CentOS building environment, from a root.log from a mock build result[1]. Libvirt resume guest startup issues centos 7

Shutdown hangs on "Unmounting NFS filesystems"

Once the system gets into this state, the only remedy is a forced power-off. What seems to be happening is that an NFS filesystem that auto-mounted over a WiFi connection cannot be unmounted because the WiFi connection is enabled only for my login and gets torn down when my UID is logged off. Any suggestions on how I can configure things to avoid this? I really don't want to expose my WPA2 key by making the connection available to all users. -- Bob Nichols "NOSPAM" is really part of my email address. Do NOT delete it.

[OT] GNU bc base conversion

Hello CentOS List Members, Thoughts as to why my BC functions aren't properly converting between bases? Decimal to binary or hex works fine, but not binary or hex to decimal and so forth. No doubt the syntax is in some way wrong, but when I test from the CLI and the right values are returned, I have to wonder. Other than a few other define statements, the only other option I have set is scale=5 in my bcrc. In reference to the order of (o|i)base parameters, I have specified obase before ibase [0]. MISSING Centos-Base.repo File.

I need help fast folks. I am trying to repair a damaged CentOS 7 server that houses my hosting, etc. I found that I am missing alot of the base repo files. Can anyone help me? Either posting file contents for the repos or sending the files?
