CentOS automatic installation fails with “Installation Destination” error

Hi, I'm trying to install the centos netboot install on ppc64le platform but automation installation(kickstart) fails with the following error: Starting installer, one moment... find_file: stat /proc/device-tree/chosen/bootpath, No such file or directory anaconda 21.48.22.56-1 for CentOS AltArch 7 started. * installation log files are stored in /tmp during the installation * shell is available on TTY2 * when reporting a bug add logs from /tmp as separate text/plain attachments Starting automated install.......... Help with Network configuration files

Hello, I’m trying to configure a CentOS 7 server to act as a host for a bunch of virtual servers (KVM). I have an 802.3ad bonded Ethernet connected to the server with a bunch of tagged VLANs. I want to be able to build a bridge interface on the server for each VLAN and then attach that to the bond interface and the virtual clients. I also want to attach a host interface to one of the VLANs for access to the host from my Infrastructure network. I have everything working but the host interface, What device do I put into ifcfg-VLAN-OOB to create a new software only interface. Here is what I have so far. Broken package

CentoOS 7 python-cryptography package is at version 0.8.2 It has a build-requires for python-cryptography-vectors of the same version (but different source tarball apparently) There is no python-cryptography-vectors in CentOS 7 base or updates. There is one in EPEL but it is version 0.8 -=- If you relax the BuildRequires to just require python-cryptography-vectors then the build fails because the build script itself checks to see if it is the same version.

RPM help

Hello, My installation of clamav is hosed up. It won't start due to a malformed database. I ran freshclam and updated the database but still have the problem. I was going to uninstall clamav but there are other app dependencies. Virtualmin is one. How can I do an uninstall/re-install without hosing more stuff up? I have found some examples, --nodeps, --replacepkgs and -replacefiles Also, what is the rpm command that will tell me all packages named clam*. Haven't used it in a while and have forgotten. I tried rpm -q "clam*" but that didn't work. TIA

CentOS 7 kickstart question

Dear Experts, Could somebody point to kicstart HOWTO specific for CentOS 7? On CentOS 7 I somehow am always given human intervention questions about drive which defeats unattended ks install. <rant ??> I'm doing kickstart installations for quite some time, normally I was just installing system when new release comes, and am basing kickstart file on anaconda-ks.cfg - with some adoptions from my kickstart configuration for previous system release. Never had a need to re-learn a set of trivial things I use (as far back as I remember: CentOS 6, 5, ... Fedora 5, RH 9, 8, 7...). Now it turns out to be time to re-learn the thing. At least one snag I hit consistently with CentOS 7 kickstart is: it drops me into human decision as far as wiping hard drive and creating custom (or default probably as well) partitioning scheme is concerned. Most likely it is me who needs to learn new trick (like "tricking smart macintosh into actually doing what you want done") as it looks like safety defeats my unattended kickstart installation (like on Windows: "Do you really - really want to do this?") </rant> - if that was rant that is... Enable all permissions for root in Samba ...

As I said in previous messages I have a local virtual machine running CentOS 7 so I do not need any security. Having that in mind I have installed Samba and this is how I setup for access the remote server: [global] workgroup = WORKGROUP server string = Samba Server %v netbios name = CentOS Server security = user map to guest = bad user dns proxy = no [root] path = / browsable =yes writable = yes guest ok = yes read only = no force user = root force group = root I am able to connect as root without password but I can't chdir into a few directories like for example /var/www. The permissions for such directory are: # ls -la /var/www/ total 4 drwxr-xr-x. 4 root root 31 Aug 4 19:00 . drwxr-xr-x. 20 root root 4096 Aug 4 20:02 .. drwxr-xr-x. 2 root root 6 Jul 18 11:30 cgi-bin drwxrwsr-x. 2 apache root 22 Jun 30 05:05 html Why I can't access to /var/html? Can't connect trough SSH to a new fresh CentOS 7 minimal server

I have installed a new CentOS 7 minimal virtual machine in Vmware Workstation. I have disabled the firewall by running: *systemctl disable firewalld* => this one for disable it permanently (I don't need it since it's a VM for development) *systemctl stop firewalld* => this one for stop the service I have set SELinux to be permissive. SSH is up and running as the output from: *service sshd status* But I can't connect trough SSH, I am missing something? firwalld 0.4+ ipset root.

Before firewalld I used to use ipsets to blacklist several countries. Firewalld added support for ipsets with version 0.4, a year ago. Centos 7.2 is still at 0.3.9.
