Missing Dependency python-yubico

Hey all, I'm trying to install the fedora-packager group so that I can build Fedora source packages into RPMs that I can install. I'm getting this error: Error: Package: fedora-packager-0.6.0.1-1.el6.noarch (epel) Requires: python-yubico <SNIP> [root@peach ~]# yum install python-yubico <SNIP> No package python-yubico available. Do you suppose that maybe this is a typo where python-yubico was typed instead of python-yubikey? When I google for python-yubico Google suggests python-yubikey instead. But maybe not! RPM Search turns up python-yubico packages for Fedora 2[234] for x86_64, and CentOS 7.3 for x86_64 and finds no hits for python-yubikey. Maybe the fedora-packager group only works on CentOS 7? I'm so confused ;-) Does anyone have a suggestion for how I can solve this issue? Is there another way to build source packages into RPM packages that I can install? Microcode.service error when booting 7.3.1611

In 7.3.1611, running kernel "3.10.0-514.2.2.el7.centos.plus.x86_64 #1 SMP Wed Dec 7 19:10:15 UTC 2016 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux" with microcode_ctl-2.1-16.1.el7_3.x86_64, I'm seeing the following error when booting: systemd[1]: [/usr/lib/systemd/system/microcode.service:10] Trailing garbage, ignoring. systemd[1]: microcode.service lacks both ExecStart= and ExecStop= setting. Refusing. systemd[1]: Cannot add dependency job for unit microcode.service, ignoring: Unit is not loaded properly:Unit is not loaded properly: Invalid argument. Googling that last line returns a single (useless to me) RedHat URL, which requires one to log in for details. https://access.redhat.com/solutions/2851331 Anyone else seeing this, or know what the secret fix is? Could it be the use of the double quotes in this line: ExecStart=/usr/bin/bash -c "grep -l GenuineIntel /proc/cpuinfo | xargs grep -l "model.*79" > /dev/null || echo 1 > /sys/devices/system/cpu/microcode/reload" Al -- "Pieces of Nine! Pieces of Nine!" Another parroty error.

Purely from interest, is there any current FOSS implementation of HSM? I note that XFS has dropped support for DMAPI, have other filesystems? Regards, Martin

Ghostscript update?

firefox/flash/CNN issue in Centos-7

Hi all! I have 3 up to date C7 systems. One of them has flash installed, the other two do not. One of the two without flash displays CNN videos fine. I'm not sure whether it is using html5/canvas, or some other mechanism. the other system without flash fails to display them because flash is missing. So far I have not been able to figure out what is different in the two systems' firefox configuration. All 3 systems use the firefox version that ships with Centos-7 (i.e., the one that yum update provides). How to downgrade gtk2 libs in CentOS 6.8?

Hi all. I'm using a CentOS 6.8 VM to do volunteer builds for an open source project. I want to build Pale Moon with a gtk2 library older than 2.24, to allow people with older linuxes to run it. Short summary, if built against version gtk2-2.24 and/or higher, the binary will use a function that does not exist in gtk2-2.23 and lower. Net result is that the program dies with an "undefined symbol:" error for people with machines lower than gtk2-2.24. Yes, before you ask, they do get security fixes backported. The hits from my Google search suggested... yum downgrade gtk2 The response from yum was... Only Upgrade available on package: gtk-2.24.23-8.e16.i686 Nothing to do Are there ways around this? -- Walter Dnes <waltdnes(a)waltdnes.org>

Mate and USB headphones

Logitech H540 headphones were working fine. Suddenly stopped. Sound Preferences says they are disabled but gives no hints on how to enable them, or how they became disabled. Tried rebooting, unplugging them, etc. Anyone know what is going on? This motherboard doesn't have onboard sound, this USB is my only option. And GNOME simply isn't usable for me, I used GNOME for years but GNOME 3 literally gets in my way all the freaking time trying to force me to do things the new way that just aren't conductive to my thinking style - so MATE is what I use. I have no clue how these headphones became "disabled" or how to change them back to enabled.

gmail.com rejection of e-mail on a Centos 6 sendmail server related to reverse ipv6 lookups

Everyone, I have been working on a gmail.com rejection of mail problem related to one of our CentOS 6 mail servers, that was not present on our Centos 7 mail server. At first I just routed the transfer of mail to the Centos 7 sever and the problem was solved, but continued working on the Centos 6 sendmail problem when I had time available. I finally had some time to debug the problem and found some interesting things that I thought of which others may benefit. The following represents the steps I took as well as my own conclusions that may or may not be correct, but I did find a fix to the problem. It was interesting that this problem does not exist for the sendmail of Centos 7, but it did exist for the sendmail of Centos 6. My setup for both sendmail.mc files for 6 and 7 were almost the same. It turns out that the sendmail of Centos 6 and 7 apparently using ipv6 as the default transmission of mail, if ipv6 is not available on Centos 7 it drops back to ipv4, but it does not drop back to ipv4 in Centos 6. Also apparently google does a reverse record lookup on ipv6 connection, and if there is a mismatch then google fails the transfer. I was able to get this far by putting in a debug value of 29 in sendmail.mc and then comparing logs created on our Centos 6 and Centos 7 server. I tried to turn off ipv6 on sendmail.mc on the Centos 6 server by the use of the switch : DAEMON_OPTIONS(`Name=MTA-v4, Family=inet') Unfortunately, this prevented the transfer of all mail so I removed it from sendmail.mc. Further looking at other posts on the internet seems to indicate that sendmail now requires ipv6 to be active to transfer any mail at all. I found the following post that described a fix to the problem. http://serverfault.com/questions/512615/how-to-stop-sendmail-sending-ma il-from-ipv6-instead-of-ipv4/824833#824833 When I added the following with '1.2.3.4' being the ipv4 address of the Centos 6 server that had the problem, the mail to gmail.com worked perfectly.
