X11 issue on CentOS 8

I have files in /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d rw-r--r--. 1 silentm silentm 311 Jul 9 13:25 00-keyboard.conf -rw-r--r--. 1 silentm silentm 328 Jul 9 14:28 01-display.conf This is my 01-display.conf # This file goes into /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d Section "Screen" Identifier "Screen0" Device "Card0" Monitor "Monitor0" SubSection "Display" Viewport 0 0 Depth 24 Modes "3840x2160" "1920x1080" "1600x1200" "1440x900" "1368x768" "1360x768" "1366x768" "1024x768" "800x600" "640x480" EndSubSection EndSection That looks fine. But the X log file shows its NOT being used. disk on vm with kvm

I realize this shouldn't happen, the file is a tgz and isn't being modified while being transmitted. This has happened maybe three times this year and unfortunately I've just had to deal with it rather than invest the time to do the research. CentOS 8 and webrtc plugin

I am trying to play with webrtc and gstreamer. libnice - nicesrc/nicesink elements (this is the only build-time dependency) - openssl - dtlsdec/dtlsenc elements - libsrtp2 - srtpdec/srtpenc elements - usrsctp - sctpdec/sctpenc elements (only required if you use data channels). These are dependencies (apparently). The first two I have. How do I get the last two or anyone got webrtc working with CentOS 8 ? Thanks all. Jerry

Generating X configuration files

I'm trying to make my computer work with a Fedora 32 live DVD. Video issues make it either crap out or only give me 640x480. Grrrr. Centos 7 is running just fine. I think I could make it go by booting to runlevel 3 and running startx manually. For that to work, I think I need to pass startx the right configuration file. To me, 'tain't obvious what to put in that file. systemd environment var composed of vars

Is it somehow possible to use composed ENV vars in a systemd unit file? Simple example, env file has ADDRESS=foo PORT=bar LISTEN=${ADDRESS}:${PORT} putting ${ADDRESS}:${PORT} directly in the unit file works, $LISTEN not. Does systemd supports such var substitution? -- Leon

Hey! I have a strange condition in one of the servers that I don't where to start looking. I login to the server via SSH (cant doit any other way) and anything that I type is slow HTTP sessions timeout waiting for screen redraw. So, the server is acting "slow". server is bare metal. no virtual services. no alarms in the disk raid note: server was restarted because of power failure.
