NOTE: This message was intended to go to centos-devel and centos-announce
on 11-Feb-2021 but it only made it to centos-devel. Thanks to folks on IRC
for mentioning that this never made it to the proper announcement channels.
Hi folks,
CentOS Stream container images are now readily available!
podman pull quay.io/centos/centos:stream
OR
podman pull quay.io/centos/centos:stream8
## Tags?
We expect the 'stream' tag to automatically move forward to new Streams as
they come on board. This means when CentOS Stream 9 becomes the Live Stream,
quay.io/centos/centos:stream will have 9 based content.
The 'stream8' tag can be used while Stream 8 is Live, and during the overlap
period between Stream 8 and Stream 9.
A 'stream9' tag will be created at the appropriate time to serve the same
purpose.
You can browse through all of the tags for the CentOS repository here:
https://quay.io/repository/centos/centos?tab=tags
## Next Steps
- We are still in discussions on how to push these properly to Dockerhub.
Since
CentOS is an Official Image, there are some extra requirements here that
we're working through.
If you have questions you can find us on the centos-devel mailing list
(centos-devel(a)centos.org) or in #centos-stream on Freenode
Cheers!

Dear Experts,
We are using RHEL8-based distros and CentOS 8 Stream. For specific
applications, some Tex-package are absolutely required.
It turned out that these packages are not shipped with the available
tex-packages in RHEL8 and CentOS8 Stream, e.g. texlive-pgfplots
We know that there are some workarounds at this point.
Concerning all these options, is there an option that should be
considered to be more or less reliable compared to the others?
Which procedure would you prefer?
Thank you …
[View More]very much for your help.
Regards,
Felix

Hi all,
I'm still trying to find solutions to replace some aging EL6 and EL7 systems.
This time I'm looking at email. Postfix and Cyrus-IMAPd are not a problem
and also additional things like DKIM are fine. However, I'm wondering what
to use to replace good old squirrelmail with.
We had a heavily patched squirrelmail with lots of nice things like
avelsieve plugin. Since squirrelmail is dead and unable to run on newer
PHP, I'd like to use some other tool instead.
I was looking at Roundcube …
[View More]but it seems difficult on EL8 because a lot of
PHP stuff is missing and not available as RPMs. I guess the same is true
for the python things needed for Mailpile. In the end my list only
contains Cypht, Rainloop and Afterlogic Webmail lite.
Is there anybody running webmail on EL8? Can you make a recommendation on
a certain tool?
Thanks,
Simon
