XFS on Centos 6.2 ?

Hi, I need of to mount an XFS partition on Centos 6.2 .. but I cant find the kernel module.. it that true the xfs is available only under x86_64 ? -- Linux Server, Microsoft Windows 2003/2008 Server, Exchange 2007 http://predellino.blogspot.com/

fail2ban and httpd

Shrew Soft VPN Client for CentOS 6

Hi All - Where I work uses the Shrew Soft VPN client to access remote resources. I have found pre-built rpms for EL5, various versions of Fedora, and appropriate packages for non-rpm based distros but no rpm for EL6. I have downloaded the source from Shrew Soft and built "my own" which built and installed with no errors but then didn't work. I'm finally taking the lack of pre-built rpms for EL6 as a clue that there is some sort of inherent problem getting this VPN client working under EL6. Is there a problem with Shrew Soft and EL6? If so, are there any work-arounds? Background: I also have the Shrew Soft VPN client (rpm installed) for FC16 running on my FC16 box on the same network as my EL6 box so I have a known working configuration and know that there are no firewall issues. This same configuration and user connects under EL6 (confirmed on the VPN server) but is unusable (e.g., I can't ping known systems). Thanks, Dave

CentOS-5.7 rpmdevtools-6.8-1 Following installation of rpmdevtools when I run rpmdev-setuptree as root, then root has a directory rpmbuild created in its home directory. Hi all, I wanted to schedule some rsync backups and found that CentOS is by default using anacron. I'm mostly used with the historical cron, but let's follow the progress :-) - I made a shell script in /etc/cron.daily/dobackup - I made it 755, root.root. - In /etc/anacrontab, START_HOURS_RANGE=21-23 (I kept the other lines unchanged) - When I manually run /etc/cron.daily/dobackup, it runs quietly (no errors) Where should I check if the task scheduler is setup correctly (logs)? Must I reload a service (BTW, is it "crond" yet?) after editing /etc/anacrontab? How to tell that it may launch between 21:00 and 5:00? - START_HOURS_RANGE=21-05? - START_HOURS_RANGE=21-23,00-05? - ... -- RMA.

Video corruption bug in stellarium

Just installed stellarium-0.10.2-1.el6.rf(i686) last night with the Add/Remove Software tool. I'm getting video corruption and this message in the terminal: StelAppGraphicsScene: drawBackground needs a QGLWidget to be set as viewport on the graphics view A bit of Google work turned up this on the Ubuntu forum: "The new version of Stellarium 0.10.3 resolves my display problems. It's not yet available in the standard repos but is in Scott Howard's PPA (https://launchpad.net/~showard314/+archive/ppa)" "Latest update of LL (official repositories) brought 10.3 of Stellarium and the problem is finally gone :D" "Yup 0.10.3 in the repos, but there's a newer version 0.10.4 which is to be made available by the developer which resolves some bugs." I'm not sure which CentOS repository the stellarium rpm is in but I do know that it's out of date. Who's cage should I rattle to get the repo up to speed? Throws Out Immediately After Login

Hi geeks, i am stuck in a situation and cant login. I am using elastix for my office and i have installed it only a few days back... i updated yum but now when i try to login, it throws me out immediately to login prompt again. any help please? Regards, Mustafa Zargar

Data consumption (external connections only)

There's a whole herd of ways to count and track the amount of data that goes through a given network port. However, I'm looking for a user-friendly (and pretty, if possible) monitor or counter program with the following features: 1. Grand total amount of data in and out since last counter reset. 2. Resettable counters both manual (reset it when you want to) or timed (reset this thing monthly or weekly, etc.) 3. Breakdown of external and internal traffic volume, by gateway if possible. Basically, I'm looking for a report with fields or a graph similar to this Total data transferred since the last reset: Total data sent: Total data received: Total data sent through external gateway 192.168.0.1: Total data received through external gateway 192.168.0.1: And so on if the computer has sent data through other gateways if there are several on a network. I've found all kinds of counters but none that seem to break out internal traffic from the external traffic by gateway.
