System specifications Linux hostname 2.6.18-194.11.1.el5 #1 SMP Tue Aug 10 19:09:06 EDT 2010 i686 athlon i386 GNU/Linux CentOS-5.5 PHP 5.2.13 OpenSSL-0.9.8e According to the manual for PHP a function of PHP with SSL configured is http://php.net/manual/en/function.openssl-get-cipher-methods.php <http://php.net/manual/en/function.openssl-get-cipher-methods.php> which is returning an error. PHP Fatal error: Call to undefined function openssl_get_cipher_methods() According to phpinfo() it is installed and working properly. ... './configure' ... '--with-openssl' ... ... Loaded Modules ... mod_ssl ... ... openssl OpenSSL support enabled OpenSSL Version OpenSSL 0.9.8e-fips-rhel5 01 Jul 2008 Should I report this as a bug? Perhaps its available in the i386 distribution?

OT: sendmail access

Hi all, I know, its normally a sendmail question (sendmail mailing list). But I don't want to subscribe me for this only one question. I hope, here are also many sendmail freaks ;-) many Thanks. Now my problem. We are running sendmail-8.13.8-8.el5 on a CentOS release 5.5 (Final) Box. We have to setup relaying for a person, which is connected to the internet with a dailup connection. So every x days the IP and the hostname will change. Is there a solution how to set up /etc/mail/access to relay there Emails permanent (maybe: FQDN from the 'mail from' domain, which is permantly - <ourdomain>.at?) Configure our access file with wildcards (IP: xxx.xxx.) is to insecure for us. At the moment, after there IP was changed, I also have to change the access file. Or is there another way to fix my problem. pop3 before smtp (our client fetches there emails with POP3s) isn't an option for us. many, many thanks Richard

Traffic shaping on CentOS

I've been trying to do traffic shaping on one of my public servers and after reading up, it seems like the way to do so is via tc/htb. However, most of the documentation seems at least half a decade old with nothing new recently. Furthermore, trying to get documentation on tc filters turned up a blank. man tc refers to a tc-filters (8) but trying to man that gives a no such page/section error. Googling on this seems to imply that the documentation was never created. The author also seems to have stop updating his blog/company site since 2007 based on the last login date on netherlabs.nl So I'm wondering is tc the current and recommended method for traffic shaping on CentOS or is there some newer method that has superceded it?

We have some ORACLE PGA problem and ORACLE document say we can serup lockmem(Max lock memory) to higher value. $ulimit -a time(cpu-seconds) unlimited file(blocks) unlimited coredump(blocks) 0 data(kbytes) unlimited stack(kbytes) 10240 lockedmem(kbytes) 3145728 memory(kbytes) unlimited nofiles(descriptors) 65536 processes 2047 Can anyone tell me how to set lockedmem to higher value on CENTOS 5.4? Interpreting logwatch

Every few days I see in the logwatch on my Centos-5.5 web-server what seems like a rather feeble break-in attempt. Eg today I see --------------------------- 403 Forbidden /phpMyAdmin/scripts/setup.php: 2 Time(s) /phpmyadmin/scripts/setup.php: 2 Time(s) 404 Not Found /PMA2005/scripts/setup.php: 1 Time(s) /TRAD_files/datestamp.js: 1 Time(s) ... --------------------------- followed by dozens of similar lines. As far as I can see, the IP of the person making the attempt (if there was an attempt) is not given. I'm not at all sure what if anything I should do about this. In fact, I'm not clear how one should deal with logwatch entries in general.
