Centos 8: Multiple bugs with email/calendar

Hi there! I recently installed centos 8 on my laptop. I have the following problems 1. I tried the use the default evolution 3.28. The problem with 3.28 is that when i try to create an event i get the error "Failed to create an event in the calendar “CalDAV : Calendar”" "Cannot create calendar object: Failed to put data: HTTP error code 400 (Bad Request)" 2.I tried installing evolution from flatpak 3.34 Calendar works fine! BUT cant use my yubikey to read my encrypted emails :-( For some reason flatpak seems unable to work with smartcards. Had the same issue with keepassxc and yubikey 3.My third attempt was to use thunderbird from flatpak. I installed thunderbird through flatpak to see if i could overcome the flatpak yubikey problem. Thunderbird starts but then crushes with the following message "flatpak run org.mozilla.Thunderbird Gtk-Message: 09:15:00.372: Failed to load module "pk-gtk-module" Gtk-Message: 09:15:00.372: Failed to load module "canberra-gtk-module" Gtk-Message: 09:15:00.372: Failed to load module "pk-gtk-module" Gtk-Message: 09:15:00.372: Failed to load module "canberra-gtk-module" " I would prefer to use evolution than thunderbird. Any ideas how to solve the calendar or flatpak and yubikey problem? Thanks in advance!!!

SquidGuard update in EPEL

Hi, The SquidGuard URL redirector has recently been updated in EPEL, and I'm a bit puzzled. I'm still using SquidGuard on a few local proxy servers running CentOS 7, because it's a nifty piece of software for filtering web traffic. The project's home page has remained unchanged for more than ten years: * http://www.squidguard.org/ It looks like the project has been dormant or dead for quite some time. I've been looking for a replacement for SquidGuard, but haven't been lucky yet. Anyone else has more information on SquidGuard, or suggestions for a replacement? VirtualBox extensions and the new kernel

I've been running Centos for different purposes in a VirtualBox environment for quite long now. But the newest kernels miss something so I can get the VirtualBox Extensions linked in. I can see in the virtualbox log file that I shall run maken oldconfig and make, but I get these errors: # make oldconfig && make prepare scripts/kconfig/conf --oldconfig Kconfig # # configuration written to .config # scripts/kconfig/conf --silentoldconfig Kconfig make[1]: *** No rule to make target `arch/x86/syscalls/syscall_32.tbl', needed by `arch/x86/syscalls/../include/generated/uapi/asm/unistd_32.h'. Stop. make: *** [archheaders] Error 2 Probably it is something that I misses, but what, I cannot figure out. How do you install libreoffice. yum install libreoffice did not do it, doing a search on "centos 8 install libreoffice" did not provide anything. Thanks Jerry

CentOS 8 broken mdadm Raid10

Hello, On my system with a Intel SCU Controller and a Raid 10 System it is not possible to install this Raid10. I have tested this with a CentOS 7 and Opensuse all found my Raid but with CentOS 8 this is broken? I found on start the Installation a Error from mdadm that ist all. Missing repodata/ for CentOS 8 on

Hi folks, I've noted that the CentOS 8 debuginfo repo lacks the repodata/ directory: http://debuginfo.centos.org/8/x86_64/ Did the maintainers forget to upload it? It does have all the .rpm files under the Packages/ sub-directory though: http://debuginfo.centos.org/8/x86_64/Packages/ And no repodata/ there either. Also, I've noted the 8-stream/ directory which is empty. Is it something we are supposed to use too? Thanks for your help! Best, Yichun

AnyConnect on C8??

the AnyConnect vpn doesn't appear to be available on C8.
