Hi All
I have a server out there running centos 7.
I installed fetchmail to monitor an email inbox - has worked for years.
Microsoft deprecated basic authentication so fetchmail is not working any
more.
Anyone else run into this ?
fetchmail 6 does not support oauth.
Any thoughts on how to update - get this working again ?
its nearly impossible to change the OS - as the box is not local to me.
Thanks!
Jerry
Hi,
I am running GitLab SCM on CentOS Linux release 7.9.2009 (Core) and this
service is monitored by Nagios for host and service checks. Are there any
security monitoring tools to scan and monitor continuously the CentOS Linux
release 7.9.2009 (Core) system and trigger alerts via email or slack if
the tool reports any vulnerabilities?
Thanks in advance.
Best Regards,
Kaushal
Thanks Kenneth for your response and much appreciated. !!!

Hi,
Is there a way to check which process consumed network throughput, memory,
cpu load, cpu usage, disk io on CentOS Linux release 7.9.2009 (Core) on a
specific date on Sept 28, 2022?
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
Is there a way to backup KVM Guest VM running CentOS Linux release 7.9.2009
(Core) OS in kvmguestosimage.ova or kvmguestosimage.vmdk format as I am
trying to restore it in AWS by referring to
https://aws.amazon.com/ec2/vm-import/ article as per the below supported
file format.
[1] Open Virtualization Archive (OVA)
[2] Virtual Machine Disk (VMDK)
[3] Virtual Hard Disk (VHD/VHDX)
[4] raw
Also any method to take full and incremental backup of KVM Guest VM.
Any help will be highly appreciated. I look forward to hearing from you.
Thanks in Advance.
Best Regards,
Kaushal
Hi,
Is
https://sigs.centos.org/kmods/
a part of RHEL 9?
If yes, what is the repository name?
If not, when can we expect it to be included?
Thanks

Dear CentOS,
Regarding the Docker images on
https://quay.io/repository/centos/centos?tab=tags&tag=stream8:
What are the plans or expectations about the tags uploaded there and the
ISOs published to https://www.centos.org/download/ (or rather the mirrors)?
For example: From a mirror for Centos 8 Stream the current ISO is
"CentOS-Stream-8-x86_64-20220915-dvd1.iso" (dated 5 days ago).
And in the docker repo the current one has a LAST MODIFIED time of 10 hours
ago.
Would it be possible to consider labeling the docker images to match the
ISO that they correspond to (if they do correspond to some ISO)?
For example have a "quay.io/centos/centos/stream8:20220915" image?

Carel

Hi folks,
Are there any Oracle Linux users here? What are you doing with EPEL? Do
you use Fedora EPEL, or Oracle EPEL? What are your reasons for using one
or the other?
I am aware that these two repos are quite similar, but not identical.

Anand
Hello All,
RHEL9 deprecated version 1 x86_64 cpus. My old testbench HP workstation
has such a version 1 cpu. I've tested install of Rocky Linux 9 and
CentOS9Stream but no go upon reboot after install -- kernel panic.
Is there a way to recompile the kernel to handle the legacy cpu after
install -- via some other live cd, perhaps?
Due to the fact I can't reboot after install, I'm not able to build a
kernel using the following:
https://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/Custom_Kernel
Sidenote: I'd also like to include support for btrfs too, but first things
first.
Thank you.
