Perl DBM problem...

Kinda CentOS related so bear with me. :) We have little legacy perl app on an old RH 7.3 box I'm trying to migrate over to a CentOS 4 system. Some information the app uses is in Berkley DB format [root@korma data]# file *.db applic.db: Berkeley DB (Hash, version 5, native byte-order) cables.db: Berkeley DB (Hash, version 5, native byte-order) connector.db: Berkeley DB (Hash, version 5, native byte-order) equipment.db: Berkeley DB (Hash, version 5, native byte-order) hood.db: Berkeley DB (Hash, version 5, native byte-order) interface.db: Berkeley DB (Hash, version 5, native byte-order) wire.db: Berkeley DB (Hash, version 5, native byte-order) If I run the following Perl test script ... #!/usr/bin/perl # # if ($ARGV[0] eq "") { print "\n * * give me a DBM file name to dump (no DBM extension) * *\n"; exit; } dbmopen (%dumpfile, $ARGV[0], 0400) || die "Can't open DB file!" ; foreach $line (sort keys %dumpfile) { print <<END1; $line - $dumpfile{$line} END1 } dbmclose (%dumpfile); Running that against any of the BDB files on the old RH 7.3 system dumps the file's data successfully. Copy everything over to the CentOS system [root@willspc data]# file *.db applic.db: Berkeley DB (Hash, version 5, native byte-order) cables.db: Berkeley DB (Hash, version 5, native byte-order) connector.db: Berkeley DB (Hash, version 5, native byte-order) equipment.db: Berkeley DB (Hash, version 5, native byte-order) hood.db: Berkeley DB (Hash, version 5, native byte-order) interface.db: Berkeley DB (Hash, version 5, native byte-order) wire.db: Berkeley DB (Hash, version 5, native byte-order) Run the script again, e.g... [root@willspc data]# ./dump.pl cables [root@willspc data]# file cables* cables: Berkeley DB (Hash, version 7, native byte-order) cables.db: Berkeley DB (Hash, version 5, native byte-order) And it dumps a new BDB with version 7, no other output. Stracing the process shows it's using DB_File.pm I'm a bit stumped as to what to try next. Will.

CentOS 4.2 x86_64 - ipvsadm

Hi Anyone know of there is an rpm available for this? Trying to build a loadbalancer from the LVS project for a webserver farm and struggling with ipvsadm <http://www.linuxvirtualserver.org/software/kernel-2.6/ipvsadm-1.24-6.src.rpm> on 4.2 thanks

ERROR Module IPTABLES P2P ->ipt_p2p.ko with CENTOS4.2

Dear Friends, I compiled with secessfull module P2P to iptables on CENTOS 4.2, but after the Centos load ipt_p2p.ko the kernel PANIC. Below I show follow steps for compile. # tar -zxpvf iptables-p2p-0.3.0a.tar.gz # rpm -ivh iptables-1.2.11-3.1.RHEL4.scr.rpm # cp -a /usr/src/iptables/include/* /usr/include # cp /usr/src/iptables-p2p-0.3.0a/common/* /usr/include Before compilation I had to correct sources a little. In kernel/main.c we change: #ifdef CONFIG_MODVERSIONS #include <kernel/modversions.h> #endif to: #ifdef CONFIG_MODVERSIONS #include <config/modversions.h> #endif # make Copy it (for kernel 2.6): # cp kernel/ipt_p2p.ko /lib/modules/`uname -r`/kernel/net/ipv4/netfilter/ # depmod -a # modprobe ipt_p2p <- after load, Kernel PANIC Thanks Adriano

Entry server hardware

Hello, I would like some advice on a SATA RAID controller that is able to work in a 32 bit/33mhz PCI slot. I have been looking for a while but all I can find is 64 bit cards that cost over $300. I just need it to mirror 2 drives, and of course work in Centos 4.2. I am not looking for RAID 5 or anything like that. All the cards I find that would do this are fakeraid. Also, has anyone used the SATA Iomega Rev drive in Centos 4.2? Mine does not show up but it works on a default load of Suse 9.3...? Any help would be great.

Adding HP7310 networked printing support

I have an HP7310 network attached. Looks like it uses port 9100 I want to print to it. And from my Asterisk at home server. I see that I do not have the "Printing Support" group installed. I guess this would be the first set. Then I see http://hpinkjet.sourceforge.net/hplip_readme.html Is this driver included in the Centos repos? There are a number of caveats. Of course, for me, the biggest is need to do a make. I bet the AAH build doesn't have what that will take!

I am having a mail server problem where the mail to one domain is being sent to the wrong server. When I use "dig masonc.com mx", I get ;; ANSWER SECTION: masonc.com. 86400 IN MX 5 mail.masonc.com. ;; AUTHORITY SECTION: masonc.com. 86400 IN NS ns1.picadoo.com. masonc.com. 86400 IN NS ns2.picadoo.com. ;; ADDITIONAL SECTION: mail.masonc.com. 86400 IN A 207.44.194.3 However, when I send a mail to anyone(a)masonc.com, the mail service (postfix) on this server tries to deliver to server7.picadoo.com, another of my servers but not the mail server for the domain. Feb 11 10:50:17 server postfix/smtp[16053]: EB01D6280C6: to=<anyone(a)masonc.com>, relay=server7.picadoo.com[64.246.62.9], delay=8, status=sent (250 2.0.0 k1BEoDM9015689 Message accepted for delivery) I would like to examine the responses from named in the logs, not just the queries, but I cannot find a way to log them. Caching DNS question

I have caching-nameserver-7.3-3 installed on a Centos 4.2 system. The named.conf file which comes with the install has the following options: options { directory "/var/named"; dump-file "/var/named/data/cache_dump.db"; statistics-file "/var/named/data/named_stats.txt"; <comments snipped> }; However, when I look in /var/named/data there is nothing there and for that matter I can't find the dump-file or statistics-file anywhere on the hard drive. I didn't think there was any post install config for caching-nameserver-7.3-3. Is there something I am missing regarding the basic caching-nameserver install that I don't see a dump-file and/or statistics-file? -- Paul (ganci(a)nurdog.com)

Hiya, just trying to install a game (warsow).
