OT: mysterious traffic

Hi all, I have few sites which interconnected using a dedicated link. During these few weeks I've found that there are some mysterious traffic pass over my router with constant amount of bandwidth all over the time. I can know this because after working hours, only few applications are running and it did not generate this kind of traffic. Anyone can advice how to detect what kind of traffic that consumes those bandwith? I suspecting its a virus or something else because half of our clients are still using windows. TIA. -- --beast

dhcp errors in logs

help compiling bluetooth package

Hi, I am trying to compile ( the small package ) http://bluetooth-alsa.sourforge.net the bluetooth package does not compile on centos 4.2 but does other distros. Chris, I have a compaq AMD r4000 x86_64. grabbing the latest kernel and compiling it fixed my clock skew. I have not had any slow disk issues. again the kernel may help doing the command: killall -SIGUSR1 cpuspeed makes the CPU run faster. Hope that helps. Jerry

Looking for server recommendations

We're going to replace an older Solaris7/Netbackup/TapeRobot server with a new Centos box using backup-to-disk-to-tape (probably using Arkeia). The specs are up in the air, but generally: - CentOS/RHEL friendly (3Ware SATA? SCSI?) - 2U/3U/4U-ish form factor - hotswap RAID5 - dual PS, hotswap a plus - USB2.0 port(s) (*) To give you an idea of where I'm starting to look, take a gander at this page: http://www.serversdirect.com/system_dept.asp?dept_id=SD-043 Obviously we'd like to keep the price low, but realize that a major cost will be the 400GB drives. We may only start with 4 or 5 of them and add more as time goes (LVM), depends on how the costs break down. We've even looked at a Dell 2850 as an option, fyi. Anyone have some good ideas?
