tripwire support

Me again... I looked for tripwire rpms and came up blank on your mirrors. I was able to find them at a rpmfind site (for both el3 and el4), but it would be nice to have it included in the extras area. Any chance of this happening anytime soon? Thanks in advance Brad

Cyrus firstname.lastname@domain

I'm converting an environment from mandrake to centos, and always try to use the applications standard on the distribution. This means a switch from courier to cyrus. A bit of reading uncovered a potential problem - the site uses firstname.lastname@domain, and I have come across references that Cyrus does not support this. I couldn't find this limitation in the Cyrus documentation. Is it true? regards Dave www.hornfordassociates.com

Moving from whitebox 4.2 to centos

I've been following the faq for moving from whitebox to centos (which admittedly is for release 3, but using the equivalent release 4 files) and keep getting stuck when installing the centos-release-4-2.1 rpm which says it should replace whitebox-release4.2 However this is not happening, giving me the following rpm -Uvh http://mirror.centos.org/centos/4/os/i386/CentOS/RPMS/centos-release-4-2.1.… Retrieving http://mirror.centos.org/centos/4/os/i386/CentOS/RPMS/centos-release-4-2.1.… error: Failed dependencies: /etc/whitebox-release is needed by (installed) initscripts-7.93.11.EL-1.WB1.i386 Any help would be greatly appreciated. dags repo after 4.2 update

Is anyone else having probs with dags repo after 4.2 update? # yum update Setting up Update Process Setting up repositories http://apt.sw.be/redhat/el4/en/i386/dag/repodata/repomd.xml: [Errno 4] IOError: <urlopen error (101, 'Network is unreachable')> Trying other mirror. Smtp mail server

Hi. I need advice for a mail sever for linux. I only interested in smtp and smtp secure service. I need the ability to resend the incorrects mails that have incorrect address or that couldn't be sended beacause there wasn't internet connection. blocking outgoing ports with iptables

Hi, I'm using the generic system-config-securitylevel-tui program on a remote server to configure my firewall. So far it's been fairly decent, allowing me to open up ports and whatnot. But I want to start blocking a couple of outgoing ports on my machine. I want to lock it down so the only traffic going in our out of my machine is stuff that I specify. Is there a way to do this with the system-config-securitylevel program? If not, what do you recommend I use to configure the firewall? thanks, ajay

Broken up2date & install from CD ?

I've run into some problems I can't explain. I tried to install the mysql package from the 4.1 CD's and the installer just sat there telling me to insert the CD into the drive and click OK. I did that, and it just blinked once, then returned to the same thing.. hit the OK button, etc., etc., again and again. Wound up having to yum install the mysql package which went OK afik. Now, trying to run up2date for the latest updates, and its hung on fetching the obsoletes list for channel centos4-addons. Will not go any further. I had to remove DAG from the repos, as every time I tried to fetch something, it bombed out, so don't know if its my problem or somewhere else. Hints?? Sam -- Snowman

AIC7901 RAID320 with CENTOS4 not recognized

An INTEL Server motherboard model SE7501BR2 with an onboard Adaptec AIC7901 controller (with HostRAID) is not being recognized by CENTOS 4. The AIC79xx driver loads correctly, however it does not "see" the fact that I used the HostRAID onboard software to create a RAID 1 set. I went to the INTEL site and only found a driver for RHEL 3.0 and I was unable to find a driver on the adaptec site. The CENTOS4 installer gives me the option to create partitions, raids, etc. This is not what we want since creating a RAID by software it's supposed to be more slow that doing it hardware based right? Does the CENTOS4 support the AIC7901 with HostRAID or not?
