samba joining an ads domain

To squelch the questions (related to the changing content on www.centos.org) I decided this needs to be published. The CentOS Team has been contacted by representatives of Red Hat's hired legal team regarding the use of Red Hat Trademarks on www.centos.org. (Full Email follows.) While the CentOS team feels we are using Red Hat's marks in a fair and legal manner, we have no choice but to eliminate the majority of the Red Hat marks that are being used on www.centos.org. So over the next few days, we will be cleansing the CentOS website of Red Hat marks and/or possible marks. If you encounter any errors please take a moment to point then out via a comment here or catch donavan in #centos-web on irc.freenode.net. At this point and going forward the CentOS project is not in any jeopardy. We have a strong group of committed developers and are growing like crazy. I have 2 servers: On both, I did yum update. One upgraded the kernel, the other didn't. Why? TIA, Dave Augustus

Dag, I think you are taking what RedHat Legal says too literally. Yes, they SAY this is about confusion, but I do not think it is really about confusion. Hi, First some general explanations about what this will be. There is this 's390(x)' in the Subject: and that will mean it's bi-arch annouce conserning both - s390 and s390x. If there is for example only 's390', it's about 31bit version only. centos upgrade fm 3.3 to 3.4

hi, 'dag' thanks for the help. i've been able to download all the headers. now i'm in a dilemma. i'm usig an i686 arch. i see that that centos 3.4 is for i386. can i still upgrade to 3.4 or do i've to wait till i get an upgrade for i686. regards. chaitanya. __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? upgradation to centos 3.4

hi, i'm new to linux. right now i'm using centos 3.3. i want to upgrade to centos 3.4. i haven't used yum before. i have to go through a proxy to access the internet. so i thought it isn't able to access the proxy. after some searching on the net i could set the http proxy in the /etc/profile file. i used the following lines in the file(with the actual ip address and port ofcourse). set "http://my.domain.name:port/" export proxy_http="http://my.domain.name:port/" when i became the super user and tried the command 'yum install centos-yumcache', i got the messages attached below. [root@achala etc]# yum install centos-yumcache Gathering header information file(s) from server(s) Server: CentOS-3.3 - Addons retrygrab() failed for: http://mirror.centos.org/centos/3.3/addons/i386/headers/header.info Executing failover method failover: out of servers to try Error getting file http://mirror.centos.org/centos/3.3/addons/i386/headers/header.info [Errno 4] IOError: <urlopen error > there was some info on the centos site that when u first run yum a lot of headers would be downloaded. i think i don't have any downloaders with me. one more thing that i did with the yum.conf file was that i changed all the "centos-3"'s to "centos" in all the paths. can someone help me with this situation. thanks for any help. regards. chaitanya. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
