Here we go again: Hi all. Most of you already know about my problems (well, my computers problems ;-) ), since weve been discussing on the forum. Hughesjr recommended me to post here, so lets see, I have my faith on you I have a dedicated server with RH9 that I upgraded to CentOS 3.4 . SuperServer 6024H-82R and Centos 3.3

I know this is a long shot, but does anyone have any familiarity with this server? It uses the Super X6DH8-G2 motherboard. Currently, we've added an Adaptec 2120S Ultra320 RAID PCI Controller Card to get RAID 5 capability. The installation bombs and from what I can tell it looks like we're getting SCSI resets or the controller is going offline maybe. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. -- <<JAV>>

i believe a server re-install is required....ive done that before, what you did and i had to re-install....yet there might be a way to salvage it but im not exactly sure the proper way

Hi All, I wonder if someone can help. My rpm db was corrupted. So I ran rm -f __db* followed rpm rebuild db which ran OK. But I keep getting the following error. error: cannot open Packages database in /var/lib/rpm warning: kernel-source-2.4.21-20.0.1.EL.i386.rpm: V3 DSA signature: NOKEY, key ID 025e513b error: cannot open Packages database in /var/lib/rpm -- Regards JC

CentOS-4.0 (Beta) for i386 Official Release

This product supports AMD Athlon, Athlon XP, Duron, and Intel Pentium, Pentium Pro, Pentium II, Pentium III, Pentium 4 and Pentium Xeon processors. Hi, I would like to try to switch from CentOS 3.4 => CentOS 4 beta. I hava a couple of questions: -is possible to upadte/upgrade my test box from 3.4 => 4 and what are the yum.conf settings/requirements? -is it easy to update your CentOS 4 beta => CentOS 4 when the stable version comes out? Mod_Throttle for Apache 2?

We have some custom software that is put out on our 6 clustered(balanced) webservers. Every 5 minutes that software checks into our server for a new version, if there is a new version it downloads it (20MB file). This happens about 2-3 times per month. Currently there are over 10000 clients that need to download the update. Up until this past week we were able to handle the load and this is putting a serious strain on our webservers. We were hoping to throttle the amount of traffic that each of the webservers would take and the bandwidth that each client consumes. Previously I've used Mod_Throttle for Apache 1.3 on other projects, but on our new servers they are running Apache 2.
