Squirrelmail terminating web server connection..

Hi, I searched around but didn't see anyone else having this problem.. I have a newly installed server running CentOS 3.3 and using the provided RPM for Squirrelmail (ver 1.4.3a-7.EL3.centos.1).. When I try to send an email I get the following error.. "The connection to www.mydomain.com:80 has terminated unexpectedly. Some data may have been transferred" I am using a Firefox browser so the error may be worded differently in IE.. Anyone have a fix for this or any idea whats causing it?

Hello, Is anybody working on a build of the CentOS 4 Beta for x86_64? If not, are there any directions on how to build a full distribution from the available SRPMS that were used to build the i386 version? I didn't see any docs on the website. Regards, Pat

Anyone else experience any difficulty with the install routine recognizing disk 3? I'm trying to install 4-beta under vmware and have had the same problem with either mounting the ISO or burning to disk. I can mount and read no problem from my parent linux installation but the install routine under vmware is complaining that it's the wrong disk. (no other install problems under vmware until disk 3 is asked for). If no one else is experiencing any issues, then I can blame vmware and go from there. I've downloaded 2 copies of ISO disk3, exact same file size and same issue. centos3.4beta and Getting the Marvell/Syskonnect Gigabit Nic to work

My dd (sk98lin v7.09) supports 3c940 (Marvel/Syskonnect) which the stock v6.x drivers doesn't . Successfull tested on a Asus A-7N8X Deluxe with Marvell Gigabit Lan the dd is available at http://slackpkg.ath.cx/centos/disk/sk98lin/

2.4.21-27.0.1.ELsmp & megaraid2 problem

I've found a problem with CentOS 3 latest kernel (2.4.21-27.0.1.ELsmp) and megaraid2 driver. Hardware: Dell PE1600SC with CERC ATA100 RAID controller The problem is somewhat similar, but not identical as: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=123289 After updating new glibc and kernel packages the new kernel don't boot. Boot fails to mount root fs with "Cannot open root device" message. I doublechecked that /etc/modules.conf is refering to megaraid2 as it should and then recreated initrd manually, no help. Older kernel version (2.4.21-20.0.1.ELsmp) boots just fine. As RHEL3 U4 release notes states: http://www.redhat.com/docs/manuals/enterprise/RHEL-3-Manual/release-notes/a… The megaraid2 driver has been updated from v2.10.6 to 2.10.8.2-RH1 The new driver is scsi/megaraid2.o The older driver has been preserved as addon/megaraid_2106/megaraid_2106.o So I decided to try megaraid_2106, changed modules.conf, recreated initrd and... server booted with the new kernel! Could there be a problem with the latest megaraid2 driver (2.10.8.2-RH1)? Since I'm using CentOS and not RHEL, how/where I could report this problem? Best regards, ++Toni

CUPS/NFS

Is there anyway to remove CUPS and NFS on the system, I'd like to stop these services, close the ports, and uninstall the software as I don't use NFS for anything on my system, and for sure don't use printing on the server. CentOS floppy / FTP install

Hi, it is possible to install CentOS via a boot floppy and continue and FTP installation ? I have done that with other linux ditros and BSD but I can't find a CentOS 3 floppy setup image.

Problems migrating from WBEL

Hi folks: I've recently migrated one of my production servers (bad Jason!) from WBEL to CentOS 3.3 using Donavan's instructions in the FAQ (http://www.centos.org/modules/smartfaq/faq.php?faqid=19) While it was as painless as the document suggests, I've run into problems with postgrey (a postfix greylisting daemon) on my server. Whenever I try to start postgrey, I get the following error (trimmed from maillog): ERROR: can't create DB environment: No such file or directory A little research led me to find the error was caused by a call to BerkeleyDB::Env->new() in postgrey. I can recreate it in a simple Perl one-liner: perl -e 'use BerkeleyDB; my $db = BerkeleyDB::Env->new() or die "blah";' This leads me to believe that something is wrong with db4, so I upgraded (--force) to the CentOS db4 package. Unfortunately, this had no effect. Speaking with Dag in IRC a couple nights back, he believes my only recourse may be to "pin" my apt sources and attempt to upgrade all of my WBEL-based packages to their CentOS counterparts. I would really like to avoid this; if necessary, I think I'd prefer to try and upgrade from the 3.3 ISO. Anyone have any thoughts or suggestions on this?
