Hello scty library, I had huge problems with NVIDIA cards on Linux. The screen would go blank as soon as X tried to load. I only tried using the driver that came with CentOS. After lots of parts swapping, I found that the monitor (obviously) and (even) the motherboard make a difference. > If so what did you do about it. Finally, I gave up on NVIDIA cards -- I got a Voodoo Banshee card and things have been easy since. When I load the latest driver from Nvidia in CentOS-3 the logon screen turn light gray and I can't log in. Has anyone else had this problem? If so what did you do about it. Upgrading fom Fedora Core 1 to Centos - Reiserfs?

Hi, I want to 'upgrade' from fedora core 1 to centos 3.1, but all of my partitions are reiserfs. The anaconda installer does not give the option to use reiserfs in the disk partitioning portion, is there any way to change this? or should i use a different method to upgrade? Tim.

Yum update fails with GPG key

I'm getting ready to upgrade to Centos-3.1, but I have a database application that is having difficulty. It needs the libstdc++ libraries. When I run it, it generates the following message: error while loading shared libraries: libstdc++-libc6.1-1.so.2: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory Well, this error doesn't look so bad, as long as I can run Yum on it and get the libraries. Unfortunately, the Yum install fails with a bad GPG key. I've done this Yum install on Centos-2 (for the same library), so I'm not sure why I'm seeing a failure. yum was unable to find and install netatalk, so i used RH9 package. It successfully installed, but didn't started. Dmesg showed me that some module is missing. I pressume I will need to compile new kernel, right ? Best Regards Kuba

When I try : yum -y update I get the error: Error: Could not find the GPG Key necessary to validate pkg /var/cache/yum/update/packages/php-mysql-4.3.2-11.ent.i386.rpm Error: You may want to run yum clean or remove the file: /var/cache/yum/update/packages/php-mysql-4.3.2-11.ent.i386.rpm Error: You may also check that you have the correct GPG keys installed This has not happened to me on other distributions. Hi all, Just a quick question regarding yum update. Is it possible to configure yum to use one of the mirror site instead of mirror.centos.org ?
