Moving from Fedora core 1 to CentOS

Hi All, I know you can migrate from RH9 to CentOS but what I was wondering was if anyone has migrated from Fedora core 1 to Centos. If not, I'll moving everything, email, apache, samba, etc.. to a new CentOS machine and do a fresh install of CentOS on the current Fedora Core 1 machine. Just looking for a easier way of getting off Fedora. Thanks, John

Upgrade from RH-9 to CentOS-3.1, any issues?

Greetings, I've got 4 Redhat-9 servers in a production environment and I don't feel like moving to RHEL. So I'm testing CentOS-3.1 now. So far so good. I'd like to get these servers moved over in the next month or so to a better "supported" OS. Are there any issues I should be aware of in upgrades these RH-9 boxes? Should I be able to just stick in the Centos-3.1 CDROM and choose upgrade? Thanks, Michael

NIC detection by anaconda

Hello all, I'm not able to install CentOS in a motherboard with a onboard 3Com gigabit nic (3c904/Syskonnect). Although there's a device driver for the Syskonnect (sk98lin) in the linux kernel, the installation program is asking for this interface module. I tried to create a device disk, but without success. Maybe I'm missing some information about the modules detection by the installation. How could I check the modules in the iso image ? or how could I insert a new module in the iso image ? Anyone could gime me some help on this problem ? TIA, Lauro Whately.

Differences CentOS 3.1 and RedHat 9

Hello everybody, I would like to port a larger package to CentOS 3.1. The package has been designed for RedHat 9. Does anybody know the differences? Can anybody give me a pointer to a list of differences? This could save me a lot of work. Thanks in advance Chris

MD5Sum for CentOS-3.1 DVD iso?

Hi everyone, I have a DVD which installs everything just like the 3 cds does, appears to be okay. Haven't tested it much though. Maybe BitTorrent takes care of checking the hash, but it would be nice to confirm after a download is done. Here's what I get as the hash for this file. kernel panic

dear sir; i am using centos 3.1 on a test server . i install oracle 10g and it works fine . but after installing a patch for oracle i have the following error : error while loading shared library /etc/libwait.so can't open shared file and after rebooting i have the same error plus " kernel panic " so is there any thing that i can do to get my system working ? and from where can i get the aproperate oracle patchs for centos ? thanks in advance . khaled
