These files are included in both my /etc/named.conf and /usr/share/doc/bind-x.x.x/named.conf.default which I probably used as a template years ago. I'm no dns expert but you'd probably need these files when accessing root servers directly without use of forwarders. I'm also using ddns and have my zone files in /var/named/chroot/var/named/dynamic. Selinux is enabled and I don't see any additional bind-related rules in my local policy or /etc/selinux/targeted/contexts/files/file_contexts.local.

test builds on mesa

Hello Guys... weird network error

a previously rock solid reliable server of mine crashed last night, the server was still running but eth0, a Intel 82574L using the e1000e driver, went down. The server has a Supermicro X8DTE-F (dual Xeon X5650, yada yada). server is a drbd master, so that was the first thing to notice network issues. Just a couple days ago I ran yum update to the latest, I do this about once a month. /var/log/messages logged... (prior to this was nothing but normal smbd complaining about CUPS not configured). CentOS 6 as DNS-Server

Kernel version in CentOS 7 pxeboot images

I have a number of machines which PXE boot using the images provided by CentOS here: http://mirror.centos.org/centos/7/os/x86_64/images/pxeboot/ That gives the machines kernel 3.10.0-327.el7.x86_64. I would like to move to a newer kernel as I'm seeing a serious I/O problem which I suspect is a kernel bug. I thought that would be as easy as grabbing the files from here: http://mirror.centos.org/centos/7.2.1511/os/x86_64/images/pxeboot/ ... but that's not the case, those are the same exact files as the earlier ones. These machines always PXE boot, they have no OS installed to their local disk. Instead their root filesystem is on an NFS server. So this is not PXE+kickstart or other provisioning system, just PXE then mount an NFS export for its root filesystem. So, how would one go about creating a new vmlinuz and initrd.img the same way that the ones shown above were built, except with a newer kernel? CentOS 7.2 Installation - Anaconda Installer Security Policy Configuration

The Anaconda installer now provides a "Security Policy", although selecting any of the available profiles does not seem to have much effect on the overall installation. Has anyone here had any success with using the kickstart file that is installed when "Pre-release Draft STIG for CentOS Linux 7 Server" profile is selected? The upstream vendor's security guide doesn't seem to offer much guidance. All accounts of trials and tribulations are appreciated. My goal is to install/verify (or as close as I can get to it) a STIG compliant CentOS 7.2 distribution. Thanks! Michael Duvall

C6 Firefox 45.1 segmentation faults

on updated C6 x86_64 Firefox ESR 45.1.0 is seg faulting on various sites, mainly media sites. Tried uninstalling flash-plugin 11.2.202.616 but problem persists. Work around: installed Seamonkey from epel repo Anyone else experiencing unstable behaviour of FF 45.1 on C6?
