Yum issues with EPEL

Folks After years of working just-fine, I have an automated script that manages yum for me at initial install time. Sometime within the last 48 hours, I get the error message http://mirror.nexcess.net/epel/6/x86_64/repodata/repomd.xml: [Errno -1] repomd.xml does not match metalink for epel Trying other mirror. And this message repeats through all the mirrors, causing the load of the repomd to fail, and then the yum to fail. The resultant system becomes unusable because I need stuff from epel. I find it difficult to believe that ALL mirrors are bad, unless it's the base epel system that's failed. Does anyone have some clue? Clueless David in San Francisco

C7: EPEL conflicts with Base and ElRepo?

Hi everyone, This just came to my attention --- I have CentOS 7 installed on one machine, and have configured elrepo and epel as additional repositories. When I turned on the yum-priorities package (and set up priorities in the order base&updates < elrepo < epel), it turns out that there are 65 conflicting packages between base and epel, and additional 5 between elrepo and epel (there are no conflicts between base and elrepo, as expected). As far as I understand, this shouldn't happen. Does anyone know which packages are conflicting, and why? I have searched the entire system using 'find /etc -type f | xargs grep -in skype' and 'find /home -type f | xargs grep -in skype' and found nothing beyond what was previously reported here. I have since removed the software via 'yum history rollback'. And it will not be returning. kvm_intel: disagrees about version of symbol struct_module

nfs-server.service start delayed 60 seconds asking for password?

Hi, when I start nfs-server.service it takes 60 seconds until the nfsd finally is up. Looking at the process list I see a process 'systemd-tty-ask-password-agent' running which goes away after the 60 seconds the startup requires. Does anyone have an idea what the reason could be for this and how I can get rid of this delay? Regards, Dennis

greetings, i want to sync my desktop home directory to my laptop home directory. i am using KDE for desktop. a problem that i foresee is the different screens between the 2. i synced using; rsync -a -u -v -e ssh /home/geo geo@192.168.1.5:/home/geo.new with intent of in laptop's /home; mv geo geo.org mv geo.new geo what files and directories in 'org' directory need to be copied to the 'new' directory so that i will maintain screen setup in laptop? thanks in advance. -- peace out. -- If Bill Gates got a dime for every time Windows crashes... ...oh, wait.
