Intel NUC haswell-ULT

I have one of those new little NUC's and installed Centos 7.1 on it. lspci shows 00:00.0 Host bridge: Intel Corporation Haswell-ULT DRAM Controller (rev 09) 00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Haswell-ULT Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 09) 00:03.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation Haswell-ULT HD Audio Controller (rev 09) 00:14.0 USB controller: Intel Corporation 8 Series USB xHCI HC (rev 04) 00:16.0 Communication controller: Intel Corporation 8 Series HECI #0 (rev 04) 00:19.0 Ethernet controller: Intel Corporation Ethernet Connection I218-V (rev 04) 00:1b.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation 8 Series HD Audio Controller (rev 04) 00:1d.0 USB controller: Intel Corporation 8 Series USB EHCI #1 (rev 04) 00:1f.0 ISA bridge: Intel Corporation 8 Series LPC Controller (rev 04) 00:1f.2 SATA controller: Intel Corporation 8 Series SATA Controller 1 [AHCI mode] (rev 04) 00:1f.3 SMBus: Intel Corporation 8 Series SMBus Controller (rev 04) Everything is working - except a reboot. Its gets stuck. I also tried just doing "init 3" and that locked it up also. So may be a graphics thing. Anyone know of a resolution? Jerry

Hello All, can someone help me install Kompozer on Centos7? I can't find it on any of the repo, en when using it from tar.gz file, I get an libgtk error. Or, failing that, is any of the other wyswyg html editors easy to install on Centos7? greetings, Johan

Issue getting Gnome display manager on Centos 6 to Xming on Win7

Greetings - My objective is to get a full Gnome GUI console display to show in an Xming window on my Win7 box. I do a similar thing with my Raspberry Pi so that it operates headless with just the power and network cord attached. My CentOS 6 box and the Win7 box are on the same network within my office LAN behind a good firewall. For various reasons that I won't go into I am unable to combine them into a single box using KVM, so I would at least like to be able to display my CentOS Gnome GUI within an Xming window on my Win7 box. And I like the way that Xming works, so I would rather not switch to something like X2Go as I wasn't too keen on it when I last tried it. I have done plenty of research on the web that describes how to do this, but I must be missing something. I have the following things configured on the CentOS 6 box. /etc/gdm/custom.conf file [security] DisallowTCP=false AllowRemoteRoot=true [xdmcp] Enable=true /etc/ssh/sshd_config X11Forwarding yes X11DisplayOffset 10 X11UseLocalHost yes I start Xming on the Win7 box with the basic parameters. Xming.exe :0 -resize -clipboard (one window is default) Putty has X11 Forwarding enabled. After logging into the CentOS box via Putty I can invoke a single program, such as Gedit and it will display on the Xming window, but I can not seem to get the entire Gnome GUI display manager. On my Raspberry Pi, once logged in through Putty I just type "startlxde" at the command prompt to get the entire display. But the Pi is a Debian based system running a different display manager, so I don't know what would be comparable for CentOS 6, and whether additional configuration is needed. I have tried all the basic troubleshooting actions. I have disabled the firewalls on both the CentOS 6 and Win7 boxes, and I have changed SELinux to permissive mode. None of these changes made any difference, I could still display Gedit but not the entire Gnome GUI display manager. So I figure there must be something else I need to do that I am not finding in all my Google searches. Can someone clue me in please. Thanks. Jeff Boyce Meridian Environmental

CentOS 7, NFS 4, and a non ext4 fs (like zfs)

Hello, we want to migrate to CentOS 7(.1) , Server, Client etc ... Right now we need to suspend that because we have some serious issues with NFS4 shared ZFS ( kernel module - zfs on linux project ) Volumes and CentOS 7 clients. Our current server are CentOS6.5, if we share a zfs volume and do the following on this share: client A reads/access file "z.txt". Now client B replaces (copy, move, unlink+link ) files "z.txt" with a new different version and now client A reads/access the file "z.txt" ( and only the file - do not do anything which does a "stat" on the file e.g. "cat z.txt") the old version/content is read. As long as you do something that issues a "stat" for the file/dir. This is really a problem because a soon you are not browsing through the dirs e.g. updating some scripts or anything automated the changes are not recognized by the client. This does not happen with a ext4 share. This also happen with a centos7.0 NFS Server and ZFS/XFS. We permute pretty much every nfs mount/share option - it always happens. Nothing does help. This does not happen with a Centos7.1 server and a centos7.1 client and xfs (NFS4.1). Of course it works with our current client server Version: Ubuntu 12.04 / CentOS 6.5. It really does not seem to be a zfs issue - it does look more like a nfs problem with certain filessystems. I asked this already on the zfs mailing list. So is there something I can do? Is the problem known? Is there a workaround , patch or fix? I am still unsure if I missed something completely because the problem is just so serious... When I am removing files or copying files and getting prompted to overwrite or am I sure... I get these odd characters rm: remove regular file âfileâ? What is that from? my TERM is xterm as I am "ssh'ed" into a machine. Thanks, Jerry

question about unhide / transitory process

Hello, running unhide ( unhide-20130526-1.el7.x86_64 ) on CentOS 7 i get sometimes messages like: Found HIDDEN PID: 30784 Cmdline: "<none>" Executable: "<no link>" "<none> ... maybe a transitory process" On a second unhide run immediately after it, the process seems to have vanished. Also, i do not see anything about it in /proc, and rkhunter and chkrootkit do _not_ detect it. How can i debug or do some further tests? I want to make sure that this is a false positive and not a rootkit. Thanky a lot in advance, ulrich
