Apache 2.2 itk - 404 not found

Hi all, Freshly installed apache 2.2 with httpd-itk (from epel). When I try to access apache's document root from a browser on local network, it always serve me the Apache welcome page, even if I have a index.html and a phpinfo.php file in the /var/www/html folder. If point the browser specifically to http://server/index.html, I get a '404 Not found error'. I'm running CentOS 6.6 x86_64. I've been googling this for a couple of days and found nothing. ntpdate odd behavior

I noticed this morning that my ntp time was not correct on machines. So I manually ran "ntpdate time.apple.com" on my clients, I got 7 May 08:46:43 ntpdate[10550]: no server suitable for synchronization found then I ran "ntpdate -d time.apple.com" and it worked . filter offset: -163.446 -163.446 -163.446 -163.447 0.000000 0.000000 0.000000 0.000000 delay 0.20570, dispersion 0.00049 offset -163.447341 7 May 08:46:25 ntpdate[10519]: step time server 17.253.2.243 offset -163.447144 sec then I ran "ntpdate time.apple.com" again and got the above error again. Any idea what that is about? Why is ntpdate giving the error? This is on centos 6.6 x86_64 and same result on 3 machines. Thanks, jerry

VirtIO drivers and CentOS 5.4(Final)

Hi All My guest is a CentOS 5.4 VM: [root@localhost ~]# uname -a Linux localhost 2.6.18-164.el5 #1 SMP Thu Sep 3 03:28:30 EDT 2009 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux [root@localhost ~]# cat /etc/*release CentOS release 5.4 (Final) I wanted to know if the virtio drivers on this guest are stable. The reason for asking this question is that i found this link: http://wiki.libvirt.org/page/Virtio which states that in order to use the virtio drivers i need to be using the kernel >=2.6.25 , but i am using the kernel version 2.6.18 in my guest VM. I am actually able to use the virtio drivers in my VM even with this kernel version and hence i wanted to know if they are stable to be used. Did red hat backport these drivers to CentOS 5.4 ? If yes , Can you please point me to any bug to track this backport activity or any announcement of this backport task ? I need that to show to my team so that we can release note this information as part of releasing our product. Appreciate your help in this regard. Thanks Jatin

Cannot remount drive after lost iSCSI connection

Hi all, We've having an issue at the moment where an iSCSI connection was temporarily lost on a few VMs running CentOS 6 on ESXi. The problem is, now that the iSCSI connection has returned, we are not able to remount the drive. At first the drive is read-only, so I tried '*mount -o remount,rw*' which didn't work (still read-only), so then I tried a '*umount*' (which worked), but now I get the following error when trying to mount it again: root@server [~]# mount /backup/ mount: /dev/sdb1 already mounted or /backup busy root@server [~]# mount /dev/sdb1 mount: /dev/sdb1 already mounted or /backup busy I have also tried '*echo "- - -" > /sys/class/scsi_host/host1/scan*' and checked to see if any processes were using /dev/sdb1 or /backup using ' *fuser*' and '*lsof*'. I know a reboot will solve it, but I'm trying to avoid that as best I can, so I'm wondering if anyone else has any other ideas? The front page of centos.org refers to "CentOS 7 (1503)". I thought that the final decision was to call it "CentOS 7.1 (1503)", so that people wouldn't be confused when comparing the upstream and CentOS versions? While we're at it, if I click on "Documentation" it doesn't show any docs for CentOS 6 or CentOS 7. I know why, but it really ought to be explained. -- greg

Hello All, can someone help me install Kompozer on Centos7? I can't find it on any of the repo, en when using it from tar.gz file, I get an libgtk error. Or, failing that, is any of the other wyswyg html editors easy to install on Centos7? greetings, Johan

Issue getting Gnome display manager on Centos 6 to Xming on Win7

Greetings - My objective is to get a full Gnome GUI console display to show in an Xming window on my Win7 box. I do a similar thing with my Raspberry Pi so that it operates headless with just the power and network cord attached. My CentOS 6 box and the Win7 box are on the same network within my office LAN behind a good firewall. For various reasons that I won't go into I am unable to combine them into a single box using KVM, so I would at least like to be able to display my CentOS Gnome GUI within an Xming window on my Win7 box. And I like the way that Xming works, so I would rather not switch to something like X2Go as I wasn't too keen on it when I last tried it. I have done plenty of research on the web that describes how to do this, but I must be missing something. I have the following things configured on the CentOS 6 box. /etc/gdm/custom.conf file [security] DisallowTCP=false AllowRemoteRoot=true [xdmcp] Enable=true /etc/ssh/sshd_config X11Forwarding yes X11DisplayOffset 10 X11UseLocalHost yes I start Xming on the Win7 box with the basic parameters. Xming.exe :0 -resize -clipboard (one window is default) Putty has X11 Forwarding enabled. After logging into the CentOS box via Putty I can invoke a single program, such as Gedit and it will display on the Xming window, but I can not seem to get the entire Gnome GUI display manager. On my Raspberry Pi, once logged in through Putty I just type "startlxde" at the command prompt to get the entire display. But the Pi is a Debian based system running a different display manager, so I don't know what would be comparable for CentOS 6, and whether additional configuration is needed. I have tried all the basic troubleshooting actions. I have disabled the firewalls on both the CentOS 6 and Win7 boxes, and I have changed SELinux to permissive mode. None of these changes made any difference, I could still display Gedit but not the entire Gnome GUI display manager. So I figure there must be something else I need to do that I am not finding in all my Google searches. Can someone clue me in please. Thanks. Jeff Boyce Meridian Environmental
