webcam program for continuous recording.

greetings, i have run into same problem as a friend who bought a logitech c310 webcam. he told me about them being on sale, so i decided to buy one also. the 2 webcam programs that i have installed from repos are 'camorama' and 'cheese'. both work well for single photos, but i can not get 'cheese' to make smooth, continuous video recording. what is recorded is a jerky motion for a few seconds, pause, short record, pause, repeatedly. sometimes, nothing is recorded. i have run several web searches on 'cheese', and tried various solutions, to various similar problems, but have not found any to cure problem i am having. system is an hp x86_64 w/ 2.8GiB memory KDE 4.3.4 ]$ cat /etc/centos-release CentOS release 6.5 (Final) ]$ uname -a 2.6.32-431.29.2.el6.x86_64 #1 SMP Tue Sep 9 21:36:05 UTC 2014 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux ]$ cheese --version Cheese 2.28.1 i need to make a video for legal purposes this weekend, so any and all suggestions and recommendations greatly appreciated. tia. -- peace out. in a world with out fences, who needs gates. tc.hago. g .

gpg can't decrypt message

Hey guys, Having a little gpg issue I was wondering if someone could help me with. A friend of mine sent me an encrypted message. So I searched online and found a a set of keys that correspond with his email address. And imported them. [CentOS7] where does cyrus-sasl-sql come from?

Hi folks, I've just realized that the following package is included in centos7 base, but it's not included in stock EL7. Any ideas why this is? Firefox fonts

I recently installed some courier fonts. I'm not sure whether Firefox will use them. They are not showing up on Firefoxes font chooser. Do I need to restart Firefox for them to show up? How do I discover what font Firefox actually uses for something? I've found Inspect Element, but I'm pretty sure Firefox is substituting. How do I discover what was substituted? Even if the request was awkwardly put and apparently presumptive one must consider that English may not be their native tongue; and that social mores and customs respecting forms of address vary considerably by country. I find it best to give people the benefit of the doubt. "power outage"-save / like embedded systems

I would like to setup a small system based on CentOS6 "power outage"-save as possible. The hardware will be switch off by pulling the plug. To accomplishing this goal, I would mounting some fs parts readonly (e.g. /usr) and thinking about tmpfs for volatile parts (e.g. lock, run under var). Additionally "optimize" some vm.dirty_* kernel- and fs/ext4 parameters. /persistent would be used with jffs2 on a CF card. So far the theory. Does anyone have some experience with such type of systems? Any pointer to pitfalls are welcome. -- Thanks LF

DKIM mails from this mailing lists

Hi, I've got some problem receiving mails from this list. Now and then the mails received from this list have an invalid dkim header. Therefore they are rejected by my MTA. This causes me missing same mails and from time to time I get some mail saying: Your membership in the mailing list CentOS has been disabled due to excessive bounces. What is going wromg here? Can the Mailing List Software be optimized to handle DKIM properly? Thanks Markus Steinborn
