It's not enough traffic to really cause any notice except for the fact that it is a very regular pattern and it started abruptly at midnight Sunday. This server is used for mail (Courier-MTA), and DNS (Bind). I cannot find anything unusual in either of those logs. I tried grepping through my firewall logs, but have been unable to find anything useful there either. I don't see any cron jobs that would generate network traffic. how to inject a kmod driver from elrepo into kickstart

Hi All, I have a marvel chipset for my wired laptop connection. It uses the kmod-sk98lin-10.93.3.3-1.el6.elrepo.x86_64.rpm driver at elrepo. I would like to use this driver to activate the wired connection to kickstart my laptop as I have pxe booting set upon my home network. Could anyone please enlighten me as to how to get the drivers/firmware from this package loaded on my laqptop so I can use kickstart to load the OS, please? Automated LSI card management.

Hello, I am trying to come up with a way to auto add new servers deployed with LSI raid cards to the MegaRaid Software management server. From the gui, it looks like I can add them by IP manually, or have the control server scan for hosts with the MegaRaid client software, which only works if the host is on the same network. Sorry... Try with some tool to see what type of traffic. (Munin,cacti,ganglia, etc) Is in your lan? I'm running postfix + dovecot on my CentOS server, together with amavisd, clamd and spamassassin, following the instructions in <http://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/postfix>. As far as I can see it is all working, but I must admit I'm not clear exactly what path an incoming email travels along. I asked this question before, and someone suggested a document I should read, but unfortunately I've mislaid the note I made at the time. kvm: vm root fs becomes ro

I've a the following happen a couple times now, and my internet searches are failing to locate an answer to the problem. We've got a few servers that primarily house VMs using KVM. They've got E-3 cpus and 32 GB RAM, and they run stock CentOS 6.4, fully patched (not yet migrated to 6.5). The VM disk images are housed on an NFS server. None of the VMs is particularly resource-hungry. They run a variety of Linux distros: CentOS 5/6, Debian 6/7. I'll start to see the VMs fail to write files to their local filesytems. No machine in the chain has rebooted or been updated in any significant way, but the root filesystem is off-limits. (This will happen on just one of our servers; the other VM platforms run without issue.) In /var/log/messages, I'll see the following entry for each impacted VM: <date> <host> kernel: kvm: <pid>: cpu0 disabled perfctr wrmsr: 0xc1 data 0xabcd In /var/log/libvirt/qemu/<vm-name>.log, I'll see block I/O error in device 'drive-virtio-disk0': Stale file handle (116) Oddly, the underlying host might be running, say, five VMs, but only four of them will get the log messages, and show the read-only symptoms, while the fifth just keeps chugging along. Googling suggests that the "disabled perfctr wrmsr" message is harmless, but my experience suggests otherwise. Any hints, workarounds, or relevent information is very welcome. Hey, Johnny et al, Thanks for the hard work, and quick followup to upstream. What's especially nice for us, and for other folks using CentOS at US federal gov't agencies, is that finally, the stock ssh-agent works seamlessly with pkcs11 and PIV/CAC cards, which is being required across the board. We'd been building our own openssh pieces... (and it was my manager that pushed that enhancement through a RH request <g>) mark

Where to put the kernel driver for a Fibre Channel HBA card.

CentOS 6.4 (amd64) stock kernel. HBA FC Accusys ACS 63200NT I built the driver from source, insmod activates the device and I can see the 24 TB storage volume via 'parted --list' I have created a XFS files system and mounted it under /srv/ Where do I need to install the driver in /lib/modules/ ... directory tree so that it is loaded automatically when the system boots? Problem upgrading from CentOS 6.4 to 6.5

Hello everyone, I had an issue with one of three servers upgrading from 6.4 to 6.5. It did not have the CR repo enabled. It failed dueing install, but I didn't catch the error (bad, bad, I know). OK, so it told me to run yum-complete transaction.
