I have a system that was originally installed with RHEL 3 x86_64, and I've since 'updated' it to CentOS 3 via installing yum and centos-release, then running a yum update. is there any way I can force -all- installed packages to be replaced with their centos analogs just to be sure its all consistent?

If I use "system-config-display" or "system-config-display --reconfig" although I get a message that I need to log out of GNOME, to have the new file written, for new Display Resolution, logging out or restarting the box does not result in the new settings for the Display taking hold. Sometimes, the number of colors is updated, but *never* the Resolution. Below is my xorg.conf file. What do I need to include in xorg.conf for the resolution to be 1280 x 1024 instead of the current 1600 x 1200? Display is a Dell M991 and the Video Card is shown as Nvidia NV11 (GeForce2 MX/MX400). CentOS 5.2 (32 bit) fully updated. Dear All, I have a Centos 5.2 server used as a squid proxy server for quite sometime and was workin fine after a power failure the system refused to boot i jus see the grub boot load screen n then hangs so using the space bar n with the arrow keys i selected my earlier kernel and it booted fine i think that the latest kernel file i have that isvmlinuz-2.6.18-92.1.17.el5xen is corrupted. how could i restore it back will yum upgrade solve the problem appreciate ur help regards fabian -- This message has been scanned for viruses and dangerous content by MailScanner, and is believed to be clean.

Port Forwarding

I'm having trouble getting port forwarding working on my one box. I have 2 incoming internet connections. I have 2 servers on these connections. pubinternet privinternet eth0:x.x.x.x eth0:y.y.y.y eth1:10.10.10.1 eth1:10.10.10.4 I need to be able to port forward traffic from y.y.y.y to the box on 10.10.10.1. I have my firewall configured (I use gshield) but 10.10.10.1 does not seem to answer when I try and test. I use gshield all the time for other servers with only 1 connection, and it works awesome. I can't seem to get it to forward traffic from y.y.y.y to 10.10.10.1. 10.10.10.1 and 10.10.10.4 are connected together with a switch, and I am able to telnet to 10.10.10.1 from 10.10.10.4 on port 25. Is there some step with networking that I am missing in getting this to work? Thanks. -- -=/>Thom

Intel DG33BU motherboard

Hi I've installed CentOS 5.2 (i386) in a computer with a DG33BU motherboard ... When I installed it it crashed because of ACPI issues. Searching Google I found that I need to turn ACPI off in order to successfully install CentOS, which I did. After a while I noticed that because of ACPI is off the Linux kernel finds, initializes and uses only 1 CPU core in the Q6600 quad core CPU that is installed in this computer :-( How can I force it to find, initialize and use all the 4 cores in the computer even if ACPI is off? -- TIA Paolo

Automounter issue

Anyone seen this before? I have a number of file systems nfs mounted onto clients running various versions of CentOS (and Upstream), although mostly they are v5.x flavors. =20 The server is a Network Appliance filer. I've had to toss out dozens of various BackUPS units, mostly in the 450-600VA range... They act like they have a dead/weak battery, so I replace the battery with a brand new one, and the unit is dead. They are typically 2-3 years old at this point, so hardly worth bothering with.

Redistributing CentOS

Hey Listees, Just a quick question. I hope this isn't received incorrectly by everyone as I do mean the best for the CentOS project; I am wondering if it would be frowned upon to upload CentOS to my RapidShare account. I understand I can freely distribute CentOS but to what extent? In its simplest form I only really want to upload CentOS 5.2 to my RapidShare account for speed. I had to download it twice this weekend at two difference remote sites and sometimes the mirror was a bit slow. Generally they are quite fast but I mean with RapidShare I can get 50Mbps compared to normal 6-10Mbps from some mirrors. I understand it depends on the line I am downloading from and the load on the mirror etc but because fools like myself and many others have paid RapidShare accounts we can download things super quick with a vary reliable supplier. I am wondering why I can't find CentOS on there already as that was the first place I looked hoping I could download the DVD install straight from there in 20 minutes? Is it because this is either frowned upon or just straight up wrong? Does anyone have any suggestions about the right way to go with this? Thanks for reading people. I'm trying to use procmail and I'm having trouble getting it to set some headers. I have one mailing list that sets Newsgroups: in the header and I want to remove it. Dear All, I have a Centos 5.2 server used as a squid proxy server for quite sometime and was workin fine after a power failure the system refused to boot i jus see the grub boot load screen n then hangs so using the space bar n with the arrow keys i selected my earlier kernel and it booted fine i think that the latest kernel file i have that isvmlinuz-2.6.18-92.1.17.el5xen is corrupted. how could i restore it back will yum upgrade solve the problem appreciate ur help regards fabian -- This message has been scanned for viruses and dangerous content by MailScanner, and is believed to be clean.

Hey folks ! I am facing the following problems with internet on my acer aspire 2920 laptop running centos 5.2 ; whenever I launch mozilla firefox 3 beta 5 it takes at least one and a half hours just to load the homepage http://www.google.com/ig which in my windows partition takes just under 1 second and also my internet connection is a speedy 256 kbps / up to 2 mbps on BSNL in india .... Quickbooks and Samba and Oplocks... OH MY

It is widely known that Quickbooks has a horrible storage engine, "requires" Windows to host multiuser access, etc. However, I've successfully been storing QuickBooks files on Samba shares at a handful of locations with no real issues other than slight performance degradation. However, a somewhat recent thread here mentioned the proper use of oplock'ing in the Samba configuration to considerably increase performance/reliability. Could someone please share any hints/tips on configuring Samba for optimum use with QuickBooks? I have one server in particular that appears to be suffering performance problems with QuickBooks but runs lightning fast with all other applications. Emergency rescue help needed

Since repeated power cuts last week I've been a bit worried about the state of my server. Today it spontaneously rebooted - but failed to complete. Now it isn't recognising me as a user, by the look of it, so I've got some questions before I do something that might make things worse. I can boot as root, and it appears that all my files are present. System-config-user sees me as user 500, which is correct, so it must be my kde login that is trashed. Foolishly, I didn't install a second desktop system, so I can't deal with things there. While waiting for a reply I'm going to try to get essential files from my home directory onto an external disk (I did a huge backup yesterday of data files). I assume that the hdd is failing - but I haven't seen any messages from smartmontools. Is there any way I can check that? If it is I don't want to waste time trying to repair it. This is the information I gathered from /var/log/messages: shows a host of setroubleshoot messages, culminating in SELinux is preventing dovecot (dovecot_t) "append" to /var/log/mail/mail.info (sendmail_log_t). For complete SELinux messages run..... then syslogd 1.4.1:restart no reason given. Everything then continues as normal until suddenly EXT3-fs error (device sda7): ext3_lookup: unlinked inode 638978 in dir #638977. Lots of 'Last message repeated' messages, and eventualy it shut down. I did allow fsk to run when I restarted the box. That doesn't seem a lot to go on. Any advice? Thanks Anne

Hello! I like using Seamonkey; I have v1.1.13 on Centos. It works with flash-plugin-10.0.12.36-release.i386.rpm. On my home computer, I have Fedora Core 9; Seamonkey + flash-plugin used to work with the same version combination above. Unfortunately, I updated Seamonkey to v1.1.15, and every time I go to a site (ex. http://www.wtopnews.com/ ) that's a flash user, Seamonkey crashes. I'd use flashblock but attempts to download it ccomplain of a missing install script. I've tried the latest flash plugin and it crashes Seamonkey. I can use the latest flash plugin with firefox, however. Its been at least a month like that. So -- has anyone gotten 1.1.15 Seamonkey working with the latest flash plugin on Centos? fcgi/suexec problem

I have a number of vhosts configured with SuexecUserGroup to run the scripts with limited privileges and the dept. web-site on one of them. The problem is the webmaster can't read online context help which comes with the cms the site is using. Most help files (>2K) have *.php.html extension. *.php and *.html scripts both work as I suspect they should, but when it comes to *.php.html suexec starts complaining (most regular files are 0660 and the webmaster is a member of the group): directory is writable by others file is writable by others file has no execute permission and finally after fixing all the above /var/log/httpd/suexec.log: uid: (10003/web6_www) gid: (10006/10006) cmd: *.php.html /var/www/web6/log/error.log: Premature end of script headers: *.php.html Anybody has a clue how to fix this either in vhost config or any other way around? hi, My volume group is vg. Inside that i have around 10 lvm partitions (each of 100GB). When I try to remove partitions using lvremove /dev/vg/lvm1 It acts like the machine freezes and after a long time the lvremove process gets killed saying "Killed" Whats wrong here. I don't see anything interesting in /var/log/message Thanks Paras.

I believe that system-config-display works OK on my box (Dell Dimension 2400 with integrated Intel everything on the mobo), but that's my old box (now daughters) and it has an Nvidia video card, which I suspect is not supported well by system-config-display. question on /etc/defaults

My colleague, doing the HIPL development, principally uses ubuntu and although he is now building the Fedora/Centos rpms for me, he leaves much of the testing to me..... Anyway for any kernel prior to 2.6.27, I have to run the hip code in userspace, not kernel space. This is due to the ESP BEET patch. There is a specific hipd for userspace, but the hipfw requires a different option. For a while, everytime I would get a new rpm, I would have to modify /etc/init.d/hipfw to add this to OPTIONS. Then we added support for /etc/defaults/hipfw to have the OPTIONS. Worked just fine in ubuntu so he released it. And things stopped working for me in Centos. After some fiddling, I finally figured out that /etc/defaults/hipfw was NOT being processed for its one line: OPTIONS= This is exactly the same line that is in the /etc/init.d/hipfw, but with the added value. Does anyone have experience with /etc/defaults and perhaps shed light on what might not be working?

mod_bandwidth

Is there a compiled mod_bandwidth rpm in CentOS or EPEL? I can't seem to find it, what name does it use if there is one? Basically all I need to do is find a way to severely throttle apache for testing an upload progress bar - my bandwidth on my lan is too fast, the progress bar either only gets one update or none by the time the files are uploaded (5 8 megapixel jpegs) - even when I use my laptop over wireless - so I need to limit the bandwidth apache accepts severely to simulate real world conditions. I assume mod_bandwidth can limit the post bandwidth as well (what apache eats)?

can't install rrdtool, problems with dependancies

Hi all, I have tried to install rrdtool manually, but have noticed that I need perl-rrdtool as well for it to work, and I have approached this the wrong way. So, instead of installing rpmforge first, I have downloaded the rrdtool from sourceforge and installed it the old-fashioned way, totally forgot about rpmforge. So, now I want to remove it, and install it via rpmforge in order to get perl-rrdtool installed as well. i am new to the x86 64 bit centos versions. ive always used the 32 bit version on industrial type HP hardware for those of you that are running x86 64 bit centos, other than specific hardware issues, are you finding that 5.x centos is better than 4.x centos for x86 64 bit processing? does it matter in the amd vrs intel hardware differences what you choose to use for centos version? other things to make note of? if i need to be more specific in the general-ness of the approach, please let me know. thanks in advance for feedback. - rh

hdc: no DRQ after issuing MULTWRITE

I have 3 OQOs with Centos and I frequently get the following error messages: Jan 28 13:18:07 oqo3 kernel: hdc: status timeout: status=0xd0 { Busy } Jan 28 13:18:07 oqo3 kernel: ide: failed opcode was: unknown Jan 28 13:18:07 oqo3 kernel: hdc: no DRQ after issuing MULTWRITE Jan 28 13:18:07 oqo3 kernel: ide1: reset: success I have Fedora 10 on a fourth unit and it NEVER gets this message. I should point out that originally I had Centos on this unit as well and it got these errors, so this seems to be something that Centos is having problems with that has been 'fixed' by FC10. Any idea what can be done? They seem to be more nuance that not, but if I am in init 3 mode and in VI and get one of these messages in the middle of editing some file, well, I typically :q! out and start over.....

Knoppix won't let me write to emergency drive

I appear to have lost the whole of my home directory on my centos server (which includes all my mail saved from the last 7 years). Although I have recent backups of most data I would like to copy important files from /etc, and, if possible, /var/logs so that I can try to find out what went wrong. However, knoppix refuses to let me write to either my usb hdd or usb pendrive. Does anyone know how to persuade it? Thanks Anne

More than 2TB RAID...

Hi, I just received a new server (HP DL180G5) with 12x 1TB HDs and I bumped into fdisks 2TB limits... Since this is an entry level server, I can't use the classic HP bootable utilities to create smaller volumes et can only create a big RAID6. I found out that: using parted, labelling it gpt and creating the partitions would do the trick. But, what about grub? I read that it does not support gpt... Or is there another way to do it? By example, do you think I could boot on a live CentOS, install HP RAID tools on it (is it possible?) and then create volumes...? Thx, JD

SELinux - null security context

Due to the nature of mailing list software for public discussion groups, there aren't that many security measures which can be taken to check which mails are supposed to get through and which mails aren't. Total safety can only be had by a moderation of all lists - and that is not where we want to go. The spammer today faked the identity of a CentOS core developer and thus got through on all mailing lists. That these mails also got through the moderated centos-announce list was an oversight in the configuration of that list which has been fixed now. The CentOS team does not condone such behaviour and does not wish to support any political agenda through the mailing lists of the Project - in case you had wondered. Regards, Ralph Angenendt

ftp and iptables

Hi - I have a ftp server running version 2.0.7 of vsftpd on a CentSO 5.2 server using iptables behind a Linksys router. The setup works for UNIX machines on either side of the Linksys router. For the Windows machines it only works if they're behind the Linksys router - ftp does NOT work if they're outside the Linksys router. I'd like to solve two problems: (1) make ftp work for Windows clients outside the Linksys router and then ideally, if possible, (2) have ftp work for both active and passive connections and restrict those connections to use ports between 40000 to 60000 The ports 20,21 and 40000 to 60000 on the Linksys router are open, and vsftp is configured with the following options pasv_min_port=40000 pasv_max_port=60000 pasv_address=xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx connect_from_port_20=NO The ftp entry automatically generated the system in /etc/sysconfig/iptables is -A RH-Firewall-1-INPUT -m state --state NEW -m tcp -p tcp --dport 21 -j ACCEPT and to IPTABLES_MODULES entry in /etc/sysconfig/iptabes-config I've added ip_conntrack_ftp Enclosed are my iptables and vsftp.conf files (which might not make it to the list.) Regarding item (2), I would guess I would have to add the following entries: Active: --------- -A RH-Firewall-1-INPUT -m state --state NEW -m tcp -p tcp --dport 20 --sport 40000:60000 -j ACCEPT -A OUTPUT -p tcp -m tcp --sport 20 --dport 40000:60000 -j ACCEPT Passive: ---------- -A RH-Firewall-1-INPUT -m state --state NEW -m tcp -p tcp --dport 40000:60000 --sport 40000:60000 -j ACCEPT -A OUTPUT -p tcp -m tcp --sport 40000:60000 --dport 40000:60000 -j ACCEPT Adding these entries doesn't noticeably impact the vsftpd, i.e., the connections from the UNIX or Windows behaves identically - I just doubt if they're correct. For Whom the Gaza Bell Tolls -- Part 1 By Edmund Connelly for The Occidental Observer January 16, 2008 �The Israelis can kill whomever they want whenever they want.� --Paul Craig Roberts I sometimes think that it�s pointless for Americans to talk much about recent events in Gaza because we know how it will play out � America will do absolutely nothing to interfere with the ongoing massacre. British journalist Robert Fisk reminds us of the drill: So once again, Israel has opened the gates of hell to the Palestinians. Forty civilian refugees dead in a United Nations school, three more in another. Not bad for a night's work in Gaza by the army that believes in "purity of arms." But why should we be surprised? Have we forgotten the 17,500 dead � almost all civilians, most of them children and women � in Israel's 1982 invasion of Lebanon; the 1,700 Palestinian civilian dead in the Sabra-Chatila massacre; the 1996 Qana massacre of 106 Lebanese civilian refugees, more than half of them children, at a UN base; the massacre of the Marwahin refugees who were ordered from their homes by the Israelis in 2006 then slaughtered by an Israeli helicopter crew; the 1,000 dead of that same 2006 bombardment and Lebanese invasion, almost all of them civilians? This time around, Israel shows not the slightest compunction about brazenly massacring an imprisoned population in front of the world. But why should they? They know no real opposition will arise from power centers anywhere on earth. And they continue to have America � Republicans, Democrats, Christian Zionists and almost everybody else � in their thrall. In large part, this is due to what Israel Shamir wrote with respect to Jewish financial mischief: �The rich Jews buy media so it will cover up their (and their brethren's) misdeeds.� James Petras also weighed in on Israel�s ongoing war against the Palestinians, writing, �Israel�s sustained and comprehensive bombing campaign of every aspect of governance, civic institutions and society is directed toward destroying civilized life in Gaza.� Echoing Shamir, Petras noted that Israel�s attempt to �purge Palestine of its Arab population� continues without apology because �The Israeli totalitarian leaders knew with confidence that they could act and they could kill with impunity, locally and before the entire world, because of the influence of the US Zionist Power Configuration in and over the US White House and Congress.� Another voice that showed exasperation with Israel�s actions was that of Taki Theodoracopulos, who wrote, �Israel can now safely be called the Bernie Madoff of countries, as it has lied to the world about its intentions, stolen Palestinian lands continuously since 1948, and managed to do all this with American tax payer�s money.� Perhaps no one, however, is more morally outraged than former Reagan administration official Paul Craig Roberts, who wrote on VDARE: Caterpillar Tractor makes a special bulldozer for Israel that is designed to knock down Palestinian homes and to uproot their orchards. In 2003 an American protester, Rachel Corrie, stood in front of one of these Caterpillars and was run over and crushed. Nothing happened. The Israelis can kill whomever they want whenever they want. They have been doing so for 60 years, and they show no sign of stopping. Roberts continued, �While the rest of the world condemns Israel�s inhumanity, the US Congress � I should say the US Knesset � rushed to endorse the Israeli slaughter of the Palestinians in Gaza.� How pervasive was this endorsement? �The US Senate endorsed Israel�s massacre of Palestinians with a vote of 100-0. The US House of Representatives voted 430-5 to endorse Israel�s massacre of Palestinians. . . .� (See here for further details.) Readers who have followed Roberts in the post-9-11 period know that he has been a persistent critic of Israel�s influence over President Bush and the Congress. He has not changed his position with respect to Gaza either: �The US Congress was proud to show that it is Israel�s puppet even when it comes to murdering women and children. The President of the United States was proud to block effective action by the UN Security Council by ordering the Secretary of State to abstain.� Two days later, Roberts added to his critique, displaying how fully Bush is a puppet to an Israeli master: "Early Friday morning the secretary of state was considering bringing the cease-fire resolution to a UN [Security Council] vote and we didn�t want her to vote for it," Olmert said. "I said �get President Bush on the phone.� They tried and told me he was in the middle of a lecture in Philadelphia. I said �I�m not interested, I need to speak to him now.� He got down from the podium, went out and took the phone call." Roberts then turned to a friend�s comments to summarize this exchange: "Let me see if I understand this," wrote a friend in response to news reports that Israeli Prime Minister Olmert ordered President Bush from the podium where he was giving a speech to receive Israel�s instructions about how the United States had to vote on the UN resolution. "On September 11th, President Bush is interrupted while reading a story to school children and told the World Trade Center had been hit � and he went on reading. Now, Olmert calls about a UN resolution when Bush is giving a speech and Bush leaves the stage to take the call. There exists no greater example of a master-servant relationship." Aptly, Roberts concluded, �In his final press conference, President Bush, deluded to the very end, said that the whole world respects America. In fact, when the world looks at America, what it sees is an Israeli colony.� And the behavior of America�s master is none too pleasant, as retired U.S. Air Force Lieutenant Colonel Karen Kwiatkowski recently made clear: One needs only to look at the death toll (one-sided), the difference in military capacities between Israel and Gaza (shocking) and the kind of arsenals employed by both sides to determine what is happening. We�ve seen it on the elementary school playground, but this version is played out with incredible destructive force, no supervision, no brave friends, and no justice. Not only is incredible destructive force in view for the whole world, a bizarre Israeli response to the slaughter has surfaced: It is the "ultimate spectator sport," in the words of a London Times reporter. As a front-page article in the Wall Street Journal also described, from hilltops overlooking Gaza, Israelis would come with lawn chairs and picnics lunches to watch the one-sided death circus that is Gaza. Israelis �have made the trek, they say, to witness firsthand a military operation�so far, widely popular inside Israel�against Hamas, the militant group that controls the Gaza Strip. Over the weekend, four teenagers sat on a hill near Mr. Danino's, oohing and aahing at the airstrikes. Nadav Zebari, who studies Torah in Jerusalem, was eating a cheese sandwich and sipping a Diet Coke.� Levinson took quotes from observers: "I've never watched a war before," one said. Meanwhile, a group of Israeli police officers took turns snapping pictures of one another with smoking Gaza as a backdrop. "I want to feel a part of the war," was one comment. �On another hilltop overlooking Gaza,� Levinson continued, �Sandra Koubi, a 43-year-old philosophy student, says seeing the violence up close �is a kind of catharsis for me, to get rid of all the anxiety we have inside us after years of rocket fire� from Hamas.� Perhaps most pointedly comes the testimony of one Jocelyn Znaty, �a stout 60-year-old nurse for Magen David Adom, the Israeli counterpart of the Red Cross,� who could �hardly contain her glee at the site of exploding mortars below in Gaza.� "Look at that," she shouts, clapping her hands as four artillery rounds pound the territory in quick succession. "Bravo! Bravo!" . . . I am sorry, but I am happy." Pavel Wolberg/European Pressphoto Agency Orthodox Jews watched smoke rise over the northern Gaza Strip Tuesday. Roberts, like Taki and others, put much of the blame for such a spectacle clearly on the shoulders of the American public. �What is happening to the Palestinians herded into the Gaza Ghetto is happening because of American money and weapons. It is just as much an attack by the United States as an attack by Israel. The US government is complicit in the war crimes.� Repeating charges he has made consistently for years, Roberts laments the fact that "�Our� president was a puppet for a cabal led by Dick Cheney and a handful of Jewish neoconservatives, who took control of the Pentagon, the State Department, the National Security Council, the CIA, and �Homeland Security.� From these power positions, the neocon cabal used lies and deception to invade Afghanistan and Iraq, pointless wars that have cost Americans $3 trillion, while millions of Americans lose their jobs, their pensions, and their access to health care.� While Roberts et al. may be right that each and every American taxpayer bears some responsibility for the carnage in Gaza, the fact is that most Americans are tired of violence in the far-away Middle East. Besides, the economy is in the tank, the NFL playoffs are in progress, and the kids have to go back to school. Everyday life takes priority for most Americans. Unfortunately, such short-sightedness will not do, for the pitiful denizens of Gaza are not the last targets of the Israeli army or the worldwide network of Diaspora Jews. The dispossession of the Palestinians since 1948 is but a dress rehearsal for more ambitious dispossessions of non-Jews throughout the world. Do I exaggerate? I believe that we have to take Israel Shamir seriously when he writes in Cabbala of Power. �Palestine is not the ultimate goal of the Jews; the world is. Palestine is just the place for the world state headquarters.� Shamir has made a fascinating study of the two thousand-year struggle between Jews and non-Jews, particularly Christians. His arguments are far too subtle to summarize here, so interested parties should consult the above-mentioned book as well as his more recent work, Masters of Discourse. I will simply cherry pick some of his more striking ideas. Shamir � an immigrant from Russia to Israel � holds a low opinion of his fellow Jews in the Holy Land. �Israelis are the riffraff of World Jewry, sent to conquer the land for the NWO HQ.� This process is revealed in a parable of the "Messiah's Donkey" often used by religious Jews. This is a story in which disposable secular Jews (the donkey) are used by religious Jews to attain religious, messianic goals. �In plain words, spirit always wins over matter; the way of the Messiah of Spirit is to use the Donkey of Matter.� �The Jews� � Shamir makes a distinction between organized Jewry and individual Jews � �intend to turn Jerusalem into the supreme capital of the world, and its rebuilt temple into the focal point of the Spirit on Earth.� Should they succeed, unspeakable despair will follow. �Christianity will die, the spirit will depart from the nations in our part of the world, and our present dubious democracy will be supplanted by a vast theocratic state. . . . De-spiritualized and uprooted, homeless and lonely, yesterday�s Masters of the World [non-Jews] will become slaves in all but name.� Shamir sees a two-pronged approach to this quest for world domination, Zionism and Mammonite Liberalism. �While Zionism establishes the basis for the NWO HQ, the Mammonite Liberalism establishes the world-wide slavery. Kevin MacDonald �We had no idea that we were about to trade places with the Black man.� Edgar Steele In Part One of this essay, I argued that it was nearsighted to view the Israeli slaughter of Palestinians in Gaza as an isolated event. Rather, I suggested, the Jews were intent on eventual world domination. Most certainly this is true with respect to Jewish power over white Christians. To bolster that claim, I pointed to Wilmot Robertson�s observation in his book The Dispossessed Majority that in the 1960s and 70s white American Christians �had become a people of little or no account in their own country.� I then pointed to a theological explanation for this dispossession, turning to the views of Israel Shamir, who wrote, �Christianity will die, the spirit will depart from the nations in our part of the world, and our present dubious democracy will be supplanted by a vast theocratic state. . . . De-spiritualized and uprooted, homeless and lonely, yesterday�s Masters of the World [non-Jews] will become slaves in all but name.� For those not disposed to a divine view of this kulturkampf between Jews and whites, Shamir�s theological views can be piggy-backed onto secular arguments such as Robertson�s. Rather than using Robertson�s arguments, however, I prefer to turn to an intriguing essay that appeared in a book edited by the late Sam Francis. Titled �Race and Religion: A Catholic View,� the essay was written by New Yorker Richard Faussette. Though Faussette situates his arguments in the Old Testament, his analysis is a sociological one in the mold of evolutionary psychologist Kevin MacDonald�s theory on group evolutionary strategies. Faussette�s analysis goes back to biblical times when Jews of that era implemented a system of niche recovery to compensate for their partial displacement by the Assyrians. Faussette sees this system as being anachronistically employed to this day: Our enemies are not Assyrians. They are the agents of the global economy; ethnic elites (their borders are where their people are) colluding with our own managerial elites. Mesmerized by the prospect of fantastic incomes, they are centralizing the world�s economy and abandoning local loyalties for a �citizenship� of the world. Unable to conquer us militarily, they have succeeded in engaging our armed forces around the world as they repopulate our urban centers and our law enforcement agencies with an alien elite and an alien underclass rigorously conditioned by the media. If you conceived of this as today�s multiculturalism, which Faussette portrays as a new Babel and a recipe for disaster, you would not be wrong. But, should we surrender to this program, we will suffer what Moses prophesized: �You will become a horror, a byword, an object lesson to all the peoples amongst whom the Lord disperses you.� Though some see the system of importing foreign populations as a lapse in judgment, Faussette claims that �the system is not broken. It has been re-engineered by private interests and liberal ideologues, lobbying our elected representatives to increase the flow of cheap labor and anything else they can profitably get over the border.� If this system is not broken, who built it and for what purposes? In essence, the goal is to displace white Americans with non-whites, and in particular white elites with Jews. Shamir also observed this: �The Jews compete with the native elites of the Gentile society for the right to exploit the Gentile worker and peasant.� Outcompete is the more appropriate word, for Shamir found that in 17th-century Ukraine Jewish masters were far more efficient, �extracting from the natives SIX times more taxes and dues per person than a gentile landlord did.� In this struggle with non-Jewish leaders, Jews can either massacre or expel their rivals, as they did in Russia during the Revolution. Shamir quotes Solzhenitsyn as follows: [During the Bolshevik Revolution] executed army officers were Russians, the noblemen, priests, monks, deputies were Russians. . . . In 1920s, the pre-revolutionary engineers and scientists were exiled or killed. They were Russians, while their place was taken by Jews. The best Russian Psychiatric institute in Moscow, its Russian members were arrested or exiled, while their place was taken by the Jews. Important Jewish doctors blocked the advancement of Russian medical scientists. The best intellectual and artistic elites of Russian people were killed, while the Jews grew and flourished in these (deadly for Russians) years. While much of this has gone down the memory hole, an excellent confirmation of the above can be found in Yuri Slezkine�s expos�, The Jewish Century. Kevin MacDonald later isolated the anti-Christian eliminationist focus of the Bolshevik attack, which can be found in his review of Slezkine called �Stalin�s Willing Executioners?� (See here and here.) Chillingly, Slezkine quotes Leonard Schapiro�s comment that �anyone who had the misfortune to fall into the hands of the Cheka stood a very good chance of finding himself confronted with and possibly shot by a Jewish investigator.� The Black Book of Communism estimates that up to twenty million Soviet citizens were murdered during the period of Jewish dominance in the early decades of the USSR. This is why Slezkine originally coined the phrase �Stalin�s willing executioners.� So what does this have to do with America today? A lot, as both Faussette and MacDonald note. For the Jews� ancient displacement strategy is as effective as ever, as Jewish ethnic activist Earl Raab made clear: The Census bureau has just reported that about half of the American population will soon be non-white or non-European. And they will all be American citizens. We have tipped beyond the point where a Nazi-Aryan party will be able to prevail in this country. We [Jews] have been nourishing the American climate of opposition to bigotry for about half a century. That climate has not yet been perfected, but the heterogeneous nature of our population tends to make it irreversible � and makes our constitutional constraints against bigotry more practical than ever. Because the West could not yet be conquered militarily, the Assyrian strategy of capturing and removing the native population, which demoralized the people and prevented organized resistance, was untenable. The tactic then became the importation of foreign elements �to devalue our niches, fragment our communities and place us under foreign administration. The result is the same.� In other words, as Faussette writes, �the Jews will recover their niches in the lost nation of Israel which will be a Jewish land under Jewish rule (homogeneous and religiously unified), but the host nations where Jews settle in Diaspora are condemned to a fractious and imposed proto-Assyrian cultural pluralism (heterogeneous with no dominant religious influence) that ensures Jewish hegemony in Diaspora.� Often cloaked as �anti-racism,� this program of dispossession applies equally to America and Palestine. �Anti-racism,� Shamir writes, �is a denial of the autochthon's [native�s] right to decide his fate; a tool to separate Man from his native landscape. This concept de-legitimizes objections to swamping a land with a flood of immigrants and ruining the society's fabric.� Again, because Jews in America are incapable of defeating or removing us militarily � unlike their ability in the Middle East � they resort to ideological attacks, an important one being the imposition of their new religion, the Holocaust Narrative. �Whoever accepts the Holocaust as the most important historical event,� Shamir quotes one thinker as saying, �is able to carry out the civil war against the traditionalist majority and becomes a member of the in-group for the globalists.� Shamir adds how the Holocaust �also has a theological value as this event is offered to supplant the Crucifixion for believers.� Certainly any Christian even half aware of culture and law in the last half century must admit a growing emphasis on Jewish suffering and the guilt of the Christian West. There is a reason for this, as Shamir explains: Slave cults are growing now among the Europeans, and the cult of the Holocaust is one of them. Theologically, this cult is an adaptation of the Jewish spiritual rule for Christian minds, as it replaces Christ with Israel, Golgotha [Calvary] with Auschwitz, and the Resurrection with the creation of the Jewish state. People who argue with the dogma of Holocaust are met with treatment the heretics were given in the days of yore. They are excommunicated and excluded from society. Given the vast power of modern media, Jews have naturally turned to it as a means of control. The fracturing of native populations through use of the media is central to this. Faussette makes this point with respect to the indigenous white population�s loss of the media: If the majority of European American Christians held the most lucrative niches in American society, the media would be unable to depict us as a cruel and �intolerant� majority whose niches rightfully belong to the victims of �white hatred and oppression.� The very fact that the media vilification of the European American Christian majority goes on apace is proof positive that people who identify with us and have a concern for our welfare are no longer in the ascendancy. There may be many more of us, it is true, but we no longer occupy the elite niches in which power is centralized. Even our ability to depict a positive image of ourselves to our own populations and to the peoples of the world has been wrested from us by the hands of powerful and persistent detractors. Examples of vilification of white men and elevation of Jews and other minorities are far too numerous to mention. The list of Holocaust and anti-Nazi films alone is massive. Add to that the rise of African American movie stars such as Morgan Freeman, Denzel Washington, and Will Smith, most of whose movies fit the numinous Negro narrative, and you will have some idea of the visual power arrayed against whites. Faussette makes this clear: It is not enough to say that the broadcast media are powerful. They create a separate and caustic virtual reality, then broadcast that ideologically driven reality into the homes of millions of people and dare to suggest that their horrific depiction of us is an accurate reflection of who we really are, what we really do and what our history has really been. We are so saturated with the propaganda many of us can no longer tell the difference between ideology and reality, nor are we the only ones upon whom this burden of a separate �reality� has been imposed. By the time an alien crosses our porous borders he has been conditioned by the international media to believe that the indigenous �white people� are recent interlopers on their own land; noxious bigots who stole the land from the noble people who were here before them. Millions of people are fed these overt and subliminal messages every day via continuous media broadcasts. The parallels with the propaganda techniques of the Communist Soviet Union, particularly in the early days, are manifest, as Faussette explains: �Demonizing an indigenous majority population to turn competing minority populations against them is a genocidal tactic with recent historical precedent.� Like the �former classes� slated for elimination in Russia, the American majority is now the targeted class. The use of terror was prescribed then and is again being used, though �many of us seem oblivious to what is going on here and now.� The terror comes through the educational and media propagation of the notion that indigenous white Christians are the villain class. Or, if one prefers Jewish intellectual Susan Sontag�s version, �The white race is the cancer of human history.� Operating under the pretext that they are fighting for universal civil rights, Jewish activists, in a sense become the current equivalent of the Jews in Russia who were �Stalin�s willing executioners.� An integral part of this terror involves ritual public humiliation, another key aspect of the media�s strategy to demoralize the American majority. First and foremost is the public dissemination of the message that whites are �powerless to deflect the media barrage of humiliation and vilification of our race, our various ethnicities, our Christian religion and the nation�s history.� Whites must now live quietly with the knowledge that infamies committed against them warrant no notice in the public eye, while any assault by an individual white on a designated minority group will result in ritual condemnation of not only the assailant but the broader majority culture as well. Thus, it was never just �in the air� that the media, schools and legal system would take the turn they did in the 1960s against the American majority. Rather, it is another Jewish movement, as Kevin MacDonald made clear recently in a column on this site: For nearly 100 years whites have been subjected to a culture of critique emanating from the most prestigious academic and media institutions. . . . But that implies that the submerged white identity of the white working class and the lack of cultural confidence exhibited by the rest of white America are imposed from outside. Although there may well be characteristics of whites that facilitate this process, this suppression of white identity and interests is certainly not the natural outcome of modernization or any other force internal to whites as a people. In my opinion, they are the result of the successful erection of a culture of critique in the West dominated by Jewish intellectual and political movements. . . . The difference from the Soviet Union may well be that in white-minority America it will not be workers and Israelites who are favored, but non-whites and Israelites. Whites may dream that they are entering the post-racial utopia imagined by their erstwhile intellectual superiors. But it is quite possible that they are entering into a racial dystopia of unimaginable cruelty in which whites will be systematically excluded in favor of the new elites recruited from the soon-to-be majority. It's happened before. Faussette draws the same dark conclusion: Consider for a moment the campaign of demonization of the European American Christian majority and its culture that we see in the media, academia and legislated from the bench. What if this campaign mirroring the public vilification employed by ardent and merciless communist regimes is completely successful here in North America, not now perhaps, but in a generation or two, something for our grandchildren to inherit? Imagine an economic downturn of blackouts, food shortages and riots in which all law enforcement niches are filled by media-molded unassimilated immigrants and indigenous psychologically prepared minorities; law enforcement personnel conditioned to believe that the people they�re sworn to protect are noxious bigots who deserve the violence they suffer. Make no mistake, we white Christians in America are being as effectively removed from our lands as are the Palestinians from theirs now. While our disappearance is far less immediate and painful, the end result is the same. Indeed, if we white Americans were thinking correctly, we would be in the streets chanting �We are all Palestinians now!� Instead we are treated to nonsense in the opposite direction, as goyim show fealty to the Jews by proclaiming solidarity. One need only skim news channels to find this. For instance, our media masters are again trying to divert our attention from Gaza by screaming over the appearance of mere graffiti on a few synagogue walls. (Never mind that in many of these cases � in which, by the way, no harm comes to any Jew � a Jew is found to have perpetrated the act.) Yet with respect to the burning bodies of Palestinian women and children, our media is subdued. Shamir correctly interprets this posture: �The quietude of the West should frighten us well beyond the Middle Eastern context, as it possibly means our civilization is dead. . . . It implies that the Europeans and Americans have lost the sacral core, and our profaned civilization is doomed to extinction, unless we�ll turn away from the edge of the abyss.� Is there a solution? James Petras suggests that �Until we neutralize the pervasive power of the Zionist Power Configuration in all of its manifestations � in American public and civic life � and its deep penetration of American legislative and executive offices, we will fall short of preventing Israel from receiving the arms, funding and political backing to sustain its wars of ethnic extermination.� Agreed. But effecting this change will be a monumental task. One of the first steps is to recognize that your fate as a white American may quickly become as perilous as that of the Palestinians caged into Gaza. Next, follow the advice of Kevin MacDonald from the column just noted: Whites need to tell their family and their friends that they have an identity as a white person and believe that whites have legitimate interests as white people. They must accept the consequences when they are harassed, fired from their jobs, or put in prison for such beliefs. They must run for political office as openly pro-white. . . . No revolution was ever accomplished without some martyrs. The revolution that restores the legitimacy of white identity and the legitimacy of white interests will be no exception. Now replay in your own mind the recent scenes of unopposed slaughter and destruction in Gaza. Then imagine that it is you and your family caged and massacred like that. Will this thought experiment prompt you to at least acknowledge your identity and interests as a white American? It should. For Whom the Gaza Bell Tolls -- Part 1 By Edmund Connelly for The Occidental Observer January 16, 2008 �The Israelis can kill whomever they want whenever they want.� --Paul Craig Roberts I sometimes think that it�s pointless for Americans to talk much about recent events in Gaza because we know how it will play out � America will do absolutely nothing to interfere with the ongoing massacre. British journalist Robert Fisk reminds us of the drill: So once again, Israel has opened the gates of hell to the Palestinians. Forty civilian refugees dead in a United Nations school, three more in another. Not bad for a night's work in Gaza by the army that believes in "purity of arms." But why should we be surprised? Have we forgotten the 17,500 dead � almost all civilians, most of them children and women � in Israel's 1982 invasion of Lebanon; the 1,700 Palestinian civilian dead in the Sabra-Chatila massacre; the 1996 Qana massacre of 106 Lebanese civilian refugees, more than half of them children, at a UN base; the massacre of the Marwahin refugees who were ordered from their homes by the Israelis in 2006 then slaughtered by an Israeli helicopter crew; the 1,000 dead of that same 2006 bombardment and Lebanese invasion, almost all of them civilians? This time around, Israel shows not the slightest compunction about brazenly massacring an imprisoned population in front of the world. But why should they? They know no real opposition will arise from power centers anywhere on earth. And they continue to have America � Republicans, Democrats, Christian Zionists and almost everybody else � in their thrall. In large part, this is due to what Israel Shamir wrote with respect to Jewish financial mischief: �The rich Jews buy media so it will cover up their (and their brethren's) misdeeds.� James Petras also weighed in on Israel�s ongoing war against the Palestinians, writing, �Israel�s sustained and comprehensive bombing campaign of every aspect of governance, civic institutions and society is directed toward destroying civilized life in Gaza.� Echoing Shamir, Petras noted that Israel�s attempt to �purge Palestine of its Arab population� continues without apology because �The Israeli totalitarian leaders knew with confidence that they could act and they could kill with impunity, locally and before the entire world, because of the influence of the US Zionist Power Configuration in and over the US White House and Congress.� Another voice that showed exasperation with Israel�s actions was that of Taki Theodoracopulos, who wrote, �Israel can now safely be called the Bernie Madoff of countries, as it has lied to the world about its intentions, stolen Palestinian lands continuously since 1948, and managed to do all this with American tax payer�s money.� Perhaps no one, however, is more morally outraged than former Reagan administration official Paul Craig Roberts, who wrote on VDARE: Caterpillar Tractor makes a special bulldozer for Israel that is designed to knock down Palestinian homes and to uproot their orchards. In 2003 an American protester, Rachel Corrie, stood in front of one of these Caterpillars and was run over and crushed. Nothing happened. The Israelis can kill whomever they want whenever they want. They have been doing so for 60 years, and they show no sign of stopping. Roberts continued, �While the rest of the world condemns Israel�s inhumanity, the US Congress � I should say the US Knesset � rushed to endorse the Israeli slaughter of the Palestinians in Gaza.� How pervasive was this endorsement? �The US Senate endorsed Israel�s massacre of Palestinians with a vote of 100-0. The US House of Representatives voted 430-5 to endorse Israel�s massacre of Palestinians. . . .� (See here for further details.) Readers who have followed Roberts in the post-9-11 period know that he has been a persistent critic of Israel�s influence over President Bush and the Congress. He has not changed his position with respect to Gaza either: �The US Congress was proud to show that it is Israel�s puppet even when it comes to murdering women and children. The President of the United States was proud to block effective action by the UN Security Council by ordering the Secretary of State to abstain.� Two days later, Roberts added to his critique, displaying how fully Bush is a puppet to an Israeli master: "Early Friday morning the secretary of state was considering bringing the cease-fire resolution to a UN [Security Council] vote and we didn�t want her to vote for it," Olmert said. "I said �get President Bush on the phone.� They tried and told me he was in the middle of a lecture in Philadelphia. I said �I�m not interested, I need to speak to him now.� He got down from the podium, went out and took the phone call." Roberts then turned to a friend�s comments to summarize this exchange: "Let me see if I understand this," wrote a friend in response to news reports that Israeli Prime Minister Olmert ordered President Bush from the podium where he was giving a speech to receive Israel�s instructions about how the United States had to vote on the UN resolution. "On September 11th, President Bush is interrupted while reading a story to school children and told the World Trade Center had been hit � and he went on reading. Now, Olmert calls about a UN resolution when Bush is giving a speech and Bush leaves the stage to take the call. There exists no greater example of a master-servant relationship." Aptly, Roberts concluded, �In his final press conference, President Bush, deluded to the very end, said that the whole world respects America. In fact, when the world looks at America, what it sees is an Israeli colony.� And the behavior of America�s master is none too pleasant, as retired U.S. Air Force Lieutenant Colonel Karen Kwiatkowski recently made clear: One needs only to look at the death toll (one-sided), the difference in military capacities between Israel and Gaza (shocking) and the kind of arsenals employed by both sides to determine what is happening. We�ve seen it on the elementary school playground, but this version is played out with incredible destructive force, no supervision, no brave friends, and no justice. Not only is incredible destructive force in view for the whole world, a bizarre Israeli response to the slaughter has surfaced: It is the "ultimate spectator sport," in the words of a London Times reporter. As a front-page article in the Wall Street Journal also described, from hilltops overlooking Gaza, Israelis would come with lawn chairs and picnics lunches to watch the one-sided death circus that is Gaza. Israelis �have made the trek, they say, to witness firsthand a military operation�so far, widely popular inside Israel�against Hamas, the militant group that controls the Gaza Strip. Over the weekend, four teenagers sat on a hill near Mr. Danino's, oohing and aahing at the airstrikes. Nadav Zebari, who studies Torah in Jerusalem, was eating a cheese sandwich and sipping a Diet Coke.� Levinson took quotes from observers: "I've never watched a war before," one said. Meanwhile, a group of Israeli police officers took turns snapping pictures of one another with smoking Gaza as a backdrop. "I want to feel a part of the war," was one comment. �On another hilltop overlooking Gaza,� Levinson continued, �Sandra Koubi, a 43-year-old philosophy student, says seeing the violence up close �is a kind of catharsis for me, to get rid of all the anxiety we have inside us after years of rocket fire� from Hamas.� Perhaps most pointedly comes the testimony of one Jocelyn Znaty, �a stout 60-year-old nurse for Magen David Adom, the Israeli counterpart of the Red Cross,� who could �hardly contain her glee at the site of exploding mortars below in Gaza.� "Look at that," she shouts, clapping her hands as four artillery rounds pound the territory in quick succession. "Bravo! Bravo!" . . . I am sorry, but I am happy." Pavel Wolberg/European Pressphoto Agency Orthodox Jews watched smoke rise over the northern Gaza Strip Tuesday. Roberts, like Taki and others, put much of the blame for such a spectacle clearly on the shoulders of the American public. �What is happening to the Palestinians herded into the Gaza Ghetto is happening because of American money and weapons. It is just as much an attack by the United States as an attack by Israel. The US government is complicit in the war crimes.� Repeating charges he has made consistently for years, Roberts laments the fact that "�Our� president was a puppet for a cabal led by Dick Cheney and a handful of Jewish neoconservatives, who took control of the Pentagon, the State Department, the National Security Council, the CIA, and �Homeland Security.� From these power positions, the neocon cabal used lies and deception to invade Afghanistan and Iraq, pointless wars that have cost Americans $3 trillion, while millions of Americans lose their jobs, their pensions, and their access to health care.� While Roberts et al. may be right that each and every American taxpayer bears some responsibility for the carnage in Gaza, the fact is that most Americans are tired of violence in the far-away Middle East. Besides, the economy is in the tank, the NFL playoffs are in progress, and the kids have to go back to school. Everyday life takes priority for most Americans. Unfortunately, such short-sightedness will not do, for the pitiful denizens of Gaza are not the last targets of the Israeli army or the worldwide network of Diaspora Jews. The dispossession of the Palestinians since 1948 is but a dress rehearsal for more ambitious dispossessions of non-Jews throughout the world. Do I exaggerate? I believe that we have to take Israel Shamir seriously when he writes in Cabbala of Power. �Palestine is not the ultimate goal of the Jews; the world is. Palestine is just the place for the world state headquarters.� Shamir has made a fascinating study of the two thousand-year struggle between Jews and non-Jews, particularly Christians. His arguments are far too subtle to summarize here, so interested parties should consult the above-mentioned book as well as his more recent work, Masters of Discourse. I will simply cherry pick some of his more striking ideas. Shamir � an immigrant from Russia to Israel � holds a low opinion of his fellow Jews in the Holy Land. �Israelis are the riffraff of World Jewry, sent to conquer the land for the NWO HQ.� This process is revealed in a parable of the "Messiah's Donkey" often used by religious Jews. Rather than using Robertson�s arguments, however, I prefer to turn to an intriguing essay that appeared in a book edited by the late Sam Francis. Titled �Race and Religion: A Catholic View,� the essay was written by New Yorker Richard Faussette. Though Faussette situates his arguments in the Old Testament, his analysis is a sociological one in the mold of evolutionary psychologist Kevin MacDonald�s theory on group evolutionary strategies. Faussette�s analysis goes back to biblical times when Jews of that era implemented a system of niche recovery to compensate for their partial displacement by the Assyrians. Faussette sees this system as being anachronistically employed to this day: Our enemies are not Assyrians. They are the agents of the global economy; ethnic elites (their borders are where their people are) colluding with our own managerial elites. Mesmerized by the prospect of fantastic incomes, they are centralizing the world�s economy and abandoning local loyalties for a �citizenship� of the world. Unable to conquer us militarily, they have succeeded in engaging our armed forces around the world as they repopulate our urban centers and our law enforcement agencies with an alien elite and an alien underclass rigorously conditioned by the media. If you conceived of this as today�s multiculturalism, which Faussette portrays as a new Babel and a recipe for disaster, you would not be wrong. But, should we surrender to this program, we will suffer what Moses prophesized: �You will become a horror, a byword, an object lesson to all the peoples amongst whom the Lord disperses you.� Though some see the system of importing foreign populations as a lapse in judgment, Faussette claims that �the system is not broken. It has been re-engineered by private interests and liberal ideologues, lobbying our elected representatives to increase the flow of cheap labor and anything else they can profitably get over the border.� If this system is not broken, who built it and for what purposes? In essence, the goal is to displace white Americans with non-whites, and in particular white elites with Jews. Shamir also observed this: �The Jews compete with the native elites of the Gentile society for the right to exploit the Gentile worker and peasant.� Outcompete is the more appropriate word, for Shamir found that in 17th-century Ukraine Jewish masters were far more efficient, �extracting from the natives SIX times more taxes and dues per person than a gentile landlord did.� In this struggle with non-Jewish leaders, Jews can either massacre or expel their rivals, as they did in Russia during the Revolution. Shamir quotes Solzhenitsyn as follows: [During the Bolshevik Revolution] executed army officers were Russians, the noblemen, priests, monks, deputies were Russians. . . . In 1920s, the pre-revolutionary engineers and scientists were exiled or killed. They were Russians, while their place was taken by Jews. The best Russian Psychiatric institute in Moscow, its Russian members were arrested or exiled, while their place was taken by the Jews. Important Jewish doctors blocked the advancement of Russian medical scientists. The best intellectual and artistic elites of Russian people were killed, while the Jews grew and flourished in these (deadly for Russians) years. While much of this has gone down the memory hole, an excellent confirmation of the above can be found in Yuri Slezkine�s expos�, The Jewish Century. Kevin MacDonald later isolated the anti-Christian eliminationist focus of the Bolshevik attack, which can be found in his review of Slezkine called �Stalin�s Willing Executioners?� (See here and here.) Chillingly, Slezkine quotes Leonard Schapiro�s comment that �anyone who had the misfortune to fall into the hands of the Cheka stood a very good chance of finding himself confronted with and possibly shot by a Jewish investigator.� The Black Book of Communism estimates that up to twenty million Soviet citizens were murdered during the period of Jewish dominance in the early decades of the USSR. This is why Slezkine originally coined the phrase �Stalin�s willing executioners.� So what does this have to do with America today? A lot, as both Faussette and MacDonald note. For the Jews� ancient displacement strategy is as effective as ever, as Jewish ethnic activist Earl Raab made clear: The Census bureau has just reported that about half of the American population will soon be non-white or non-European. And they will all be American citizens. We have tipped beyond the point where a Nazi-Aryan party will be able to prevail in this country. We [Jews] have been nourishing the American climate of opposition to bigotry for about half a century. That climate has not yet been perfected, but the heterogeneous nature of our population tends to make it irreversible � and makes our constitutional constraints against bigotry more practical than ever. Because the West could not yet be conquered militarily, the Assyrian strategy of capturing and removing the native population, which demoralized the people and prevented organized resistance, was untenable. The tactic then became the importation of foreign elements �to devalue our niches, fragment our communities and place us under foreign administration. The result is the same.� In other words, as Faussette writes, �the Jews will recover their niches in the lost nation of Israel which will be a Jewish land under Jewish rule (homogeneous and religiously unified), but the host nations where Jews settle in Diaspora are condemned to a fractious and imposed proto-Assyrian cultural pluralism (heterogeneous with no dominant religious influence) that ensures Jewish hegemony in Diaspora.� Often cloaked as �anti-racism,� this program of dispossession applies equally to America and Palestine. �Anti-racism,� Shamir writes, �is a denial of the autochthon's [native�s] right to decide his fate; a tool to separate Man from his native landscape. This concept de-legitimizes objections to swamping a land with a flood of immigrants and ruining the society's fabric.� Again, because Jews in America are incapable of defeating or removing us militarily � unlike their ability in the Middle East � they resort to ideological attacks, an important one being the imposition of their new religion, the Holocaust Narrative. �Whoever accepts the Holocaust as the most important historical event,� Shamir quotes one thinker as saying, �is able to carry out the civil war against the traditionalist majority and becomes a member of the in-group for the globalists.� Shamir adds how the Holocaust �also has a theological value as this event is offered to supplant the Crucifixion for believers.� Certainly any Christian even half aware of culture and law in the last half century must admit a growing emphasis on Jewish suffering and the guilt of the Christian West. There is a reason for this, as Shamir explains: Slave cults are growing now among the Europeans, and the cult of the Holocaust is one of them. Theologically, this cult is an adaptation of the Jewish spiritual rule for Christian minds, as it replaces Christ with Israel, Golgotha [Calvary] with Auschwitz, and the Resurrection with the creation of the Jewish state. People who argue with the dogma of Holocaust are met with treatment the heretics were given in the days of yore. They are excommunicated and excluded from society. Given the vast power of modern media, Jews have naturally turned to it as a means of control. The fracturing of native populations through use of the media is central to this. Faussette makes this point with respect to the indigenous white population�s loss of the media: If the majority of European American Christians held the most lucrative niches in American society, the media would be unable to depict us as a cruel and �intolerant� majority whose niches rightfully belong to the victims of �white hatred and oppression.� The very fact that the media vilification of the European American Christian majority goes on apace is proof positive that people who identify with us and have a concern for our welfare are no longer in the ascendancy. There may be many more of us, it is true, but we no longer occupy the elite niches in which power is centralized. Even our ability to depict a positive image of ourselves to our own populations and to the peoples of the world has been wrested from us by the hands of powerful and persistent detractors. Examples of vilification of white men and elevation of Jews and other minorities are far too numerous to mention. The list of Holocaust and anti-Nazi films alone is massive. Add to that the rise of African American movie stars such as Morgan Freeman, Denzel Washington, and Will Smith, most of whose movies fit the numinous Negro narrative, and you will have some idea of the visual power arrayed against whites. Faussette makes this clear: It is not enough to say that the broadcast media are powerful. They create a separate and caustic virtual reality, then broadcast that ideologically driven reality into the homes of millions of people and dare to suggest that their horrific depiction of us is an accurate reflection of who we really are, what we really do and what our history has really been. We are so saturated with the propaganda many of us can no longer tell the difference between ideology and reality, nor are we the only ones upon whom this burden of a separate �reality� has been imposed. By the time an alien crosses our porous borders he has been conditioned by the international media to believe that the indigenous �white people� are recent interlopers on their own land; noxious bigots who stole the land from the noble people who were here before them. Millions of people are fed these overt and subliminal messages every day via continuous media broadcasts. The parallels with the propaganda techniques of the Communist Soviet Union, particularly in the early days, are manifest, as Faussette explains: �Demonizing an indigenous majority population to turn competing minority populations against them is a genocidal tactic with recent historical precedent.� Like the �former classes� slated for elimination in Russia, the American majority is now the targeted class. The use of terror was prescribed then and is again being used, though �many of us seem oblivious to what is going on here and now.� The terror comes through the educational and media propagation of the notion that indigenous white Christians are the villain class. Or, if one prefers Jewish intellectual Susan Sontag�s version, �The white race is the cancer of human history.� Operating under the pretext that they are fighting for universal civil rights, Jewish activists, in a sense become the current equivalent of the Jews in Russia who were �Stalin�s willing executioners.� An integral part of this terror involves ritual public humiliation, another key aspect of the media�s strategy to demoralize the American majority. First and foremost is the public dissemination of the message that whites are �powerless to deflect the media barrage of humiliation and vilification of our race, our various ethnicities, our Christian religion and the nation�s history.� Whites must now live quietly with the knowledge that infamies committed against them warrant no notice in the public eye, while any assault by an individual white on a designated minority group will result in ritual condemnation of not only the assailant but the broader majority culture as well. Thus, it was never just �in the air� that the media, schools and legal system would take the turn they did in the 1960s against the American majority. Rather, it is another Jewish movement, as Kevin MacDonald made clear recently in a column on this site: For nearly 100 years whites have been subjected to a culture of critique emanating from the most prestigious academic and media institutions. . . . But that implies that the submerged white identity of the white working class and the lack of cultural confidence exhibited by the rest of white America are imposed from outside. Although there may well be characteristics of whites that facilitate this process, this suppression of white identity and interests is certainly not the natural outcome of modernization or any other force internal to whites as a people. In my opinion, they are the result of the successful erection of a culture of critique in the West dominated by Jewish intellectual and political movements. . . . The difference from the Soviet Union may well be that in white-minority America it will not be workers and Israelites who are favored, but non-whites and Israelites. Whites may dream that they are entering the post-racial utopia imagined by their erstwhile intellectual superiors. But it is quite possible that they are entering into a racial dystopia of unimaginable cruelty in which whites will be systematically excluded in favor of the new elites recruited from the soon-to-be majority. It's happened before. Faussette draws the same dark conclusion: Consider for a moment the campaign of demonization of the European American Christian majority and its culture that we see in the media, academia and legislated from the bench. What if this campaign mirroring the public vilification employed by ardent and merciless communist regimes is completely successful here in North America, not now perhaps, but in a generation or two, something for our grandchildren to inherit? Imagine an economic downturn of blackouts, food shortages and riots in which all law enforcement niches are filled by media-molded unassimilated immigrants and indigenous psychologically prepared minorities; law enforcement personnel conditioned to believe that the people they�re sworn to protect are noxious bigots who deserve the violence they suffer. Make no mistake, we white Christians in America are being as effectively removed from our lands as are the Palestinians from theirs now. While our disappearance is far less immediate and painful, the end result is the same. Indeed, if we white Americans were thinking correctly, we would be in the streets chanting �We are all Palestinians now!� Instead we are treated to nonsense in the opposite direction, as goyim show fealty to the Jews by proclaiming solidarity. One need only skim news channels to find this. For instance, our media masters are again trying to divert our attention from Gaza by screaming over the appearance of mere graffiti on a few synagogue walls. (Never mind that in many of these cases � in which, by the way, no harm comes to any Jew � a Jew is found to have perpetrated the act.) Yet with respect to the burning bodies of Palestinian women and children, our media is subdued. Shamir correctly interprets this posture: �The quietude of the West should frighten us well beyond the Middle Eastern context, as it possibly means our civilization is dead. . . . It implies that the Europeans and Americans have lost the sacral core, and our profaned civilization is doomed to extinction, unless we�ll turn away from the edge of the abyss.� Is there a solution? James Petras suggests that �Until we neutralize the pervasive power of the Zionist Power Configuration in all of its manifestations � in American public and civic life � and its deep penetration of American legislative and executive offices, we will fall short of preventing Israel from receiving the arms, funding and political backing to sustain its wars of ethnic extermination.� Agreed. But effecting this change will be a monumental task. One of the first steps is to recognize that your fate as a white American may quickly become as perilous as that of the Palestinians caged into Gaza. Next, follow the advice of Kevin MacDonald from the column just noted: Whites need to tell their family and their friends that they have an identity as a white person and believe that whites have legitimate interests as white people. They must accept the consequences when they are harassed, fired from their jobs, or put in prison for such beliefs. They must run for political office as openly pro-white. . . . No revolution was ever accomplished without some martyrs. The revolution that restores the legitimacy of white identity and the legitimacy of white interests will be no exception. Now replay in your own mind the recent scenes of unopposed slaughter and destruction in Gaza. Then imagine that it is you and your family caged and massacred like that. Will this thought experiment prompt you to at least acknowledge your identity and interests as a white American? It should. I have a CentOS box that acts as a packet filter/firewall with iptables but the box itself isn't able to reach internet : here why : Internet ----- public IP|ISP router|private IP ----- private IP + public IP/32 + public IP subnet/29|my CentOS fw|private network/dmz As you can see my provider gave us a /29 public ip subnet but behind a private IP subnet (192.168.X.X/24 - used for the routing between the ISP router and the fw) I've configured my iptables/routing correctly and machines from the DMZ have no problems reaching the external world (use of SNAT in the nat table of course). The problem is that the firewall itself can't access the public network because of his private ip 192.168.X.X used for the routing between ISP router and itself. I also received a /32 public ip for the fw itself and i've added to the ethx:1 alias . Problem is that kernel always decide that (because of default gw being on the private ip 192.168.X.X) he has to use the 192.168.X.X ip address as outbond interface. So every packet leaving (so i'm talking about OUTPUT table and not about FORWARD nor nat table) the fw comes from a 192.168.X.X ip and so never comes back (which is normal). Question is : how can i "mangle" output packets to appear coming from public ip and not from 192.168.X.X ? For example , at the application layer, i can produce icmp packets with `ping -I my.public.ip/32 remote.host.on.internet` that come back but of course nothing with a traditionnal `ping remote.host.on.internet` I've had a look at arptables and tested ` arptables -A OUT -s 192.168.X.X ! -d 192.168.X.0/24 -o eth3 -j mangle --mangle-ip-s my.public.ip` but that doesn't seem to do the trick .. How to add network driver for network installation

Hi, Is someone has an experience for adding a network driver when starting a network installation. My network internal card is : Intel 82567M Gigabit (laptop HP 8530w) This card is not recognized by my system : CentOS 5.2 x86_64 (kernel 2.6.9-92) How to add correctly this driver for a network installation ? I can add the Intel driver e1000e-0.5.11.2 after the installation and the network card works fine, but I need to do network installation, and this card need to be recognized before starting. Any help will be very appreciated. Hey Listee's! I'm not that up on CentOS so I'd be curious to know if it is possible to upgrade CentOS 5.2 to 5.3 without reinstalling? Perhaps via Yum? Or can you get update RPMs? print from emacs?

I just noticed this problem in Centos 5.2. WHile editing a file in Emacs, one can print with the Postscript Print option from the pull down menu. However, the ordinary "print" option from the pull down menu, and the "printer icon" in the toolbar, cause nothing to happen. This is a new feature/bug for me. Can you explain? pj -- Paul E. Bit of an emergency as I'm told this laptop has to leave here in 15 minutes, I've gone ahead and configured, made, installed PHP 5.2 but an httpd restart still only sees the old PHP 5.0.4, I think there's a fairly simple way to get it to find the 5.2 version I've just installed but can't think what. Any help gratefully received! thanks

Backup methods for an Oracle DB

Hi, I've been testing different methods and I'd like to have some advice. I want to perform a cold backup once a week on the Oracle DB, and put it on tape. I'm using EMC Networker for backup software, and I am not too at ease with the fact of doing eveything with Networker, because if there is a problem with the backup, the Oracle DB might not come up after the backup run. So I thought of using disk-based backup. I've tried scp'ing the files directly to my backup server, but the operation is too long (120 min). I tried generating a tar.gz directly to my backup server via SSH. A decent 40 minutes, using mgzip (multi-thread gzip), 70 Gigs. 120 minutes for a tar.bz2, using pbzip2 (parralel bzip2) (54 Gigs). A tar sent directly to my backup server is quite huge (318 Gigs). It is then taken to tape on the regular nightly backup. My concerns are: - Time needed to perform backup (downtime). - Time needed to do a recovery. For the backup, sending a tar.gz directly to the backup server seems to be the best option. However, since I want to minimize the time needed to perform a recovery, I'd like to have raw files on tape, not in a tarball and not compressed (the tape is compressing anyway). Up to now, I've been quite disappointed by the speed at which my backup server can decompress and untar, and this server has quite good hardware. When I use iostat -x, I find that the %util of the device is averaging 80%. Here is the hardware involved: Oracle Server: HP Proliant 380DL + MSA70 16 GB ram 2 x Quad-core Xeons E5345 2.33 Ghz 9 RAID 10 volumes on 32 72G, 15K rpm SAS disks 1X Smart Array P400 w/512 MB BBU 1X Smart Array P800 w/512 MB BBU Database Server HP Proliant 360DL 2 x Quad-core Xeons E5345 2.33 Ghz 1 RAID 5 volume on 6 146 GB, 10K rpm SAS disks 1X Smart Array P400 w/512 MB BBU Any help or suggestions welcome. I have a bind server running that cannot resolve www.atbfinancialonline.com. I turned on "debug 10" in the named.conf and start up dig on it, but dig just times out, what else can I do to see why exactly it won't resolve this? Thanks! jlc

Daemon is configured perfectly, there is no problem - if iptables is off connection is smoothly established, but when iptables is on, connection in FTP client ends on command LIST without response. Ldap login

Hello List, I have installed Centos Directory Server to be able to authenticate with ldap on the other servers in the system, the directory server seems to be working fine, but when I configure a test server to authenticate up against this server then it says that there is no such user, I have made sure that the config is correct on the client /etc/ldap.conf is there also the /etc/openldap/ldap.conf is there and both is configured correctly, i have tried to telnet from the client to the server on port 389 and that also works. Hi, I need a script which makes the package compação rpm's through two text files ... Since a file is the output of the command *rpm-qa > pkg.out * And the second file is a list of several packages rpm's, multiple versions and architectures. My idea is to compare a package *x* file pkg.out with several packages *y* of the file update.out and know whether a package and has a larger version of the package *x* installed and with that I return I have a package to be updated. Does anyone can help me do this comparison? OBS.: The servers do not have access to internet. Completeley disabling SELinux?

Hi all, I've set SELinux to disabled using the security and firewall widget but I'm still getting a lot of messages in Logwatch.... NULL security context for user, but SELinux in permissive mode, continuing () So it looks like SELinux is still operating. Can anyone tell me how to turn it off completely? It's my development server under my desk so I reallly don't care about security. thanks

Morning, I am going to treat this as a rooted box and reinstall from scratch, but any thoughts appreciated: This is a Trixbox Server based on Centos, running kernel 2.6.18-53.1.4.el5 SMP The phone system stopped working but this was traced to a configuration error with a replacement switch (it did not get added to the vlan properly), which meant that Trixbox could not see any DNS servers and this b0rks TB. Anyway, during debugging I went to reboot the server and got the following: /dev/kmem missing IDT table read failed I have run rkhunter, which turns up nothing If have forced a filesystem check - all clean I have checked the logs and history file and cannot see anything The server is behind a hardware firewall and the only ports open are those needed for RTP, IAX2 and SIP - there is no other public access and no user accounts. Having fixed the vlan issue, Asterisk is running fine. I re-created /dev/kmem, but it's missing at subsequent reboots. I have Googled many references to the IDT table problem being associated with the SuckIT rootkit, but I can find no evidence that it's installed. OK, bearing in mind that I will go ahead and reinstall the server (no biggie as I have Trixbox config backups and installing TB is not a big task), I just wanted to check whether there were any IDT table issues that may *NOT* be rootkit related and if there are any simple fixes I can try on the box while it's isolated on the bench? In the other direction, has anyone seen this type of behaviour with any rootkit that is not detected by rkhunter and doesn't leave any obvious footprints? Anything to look for? Happy Monday! I hope someone familiar with the way Linux processes files can enlighten me on the following: I recently replaced an old Windows 2000 server with a new machine running CentOS 5.2. It uses Samba 3.2.7 to serve a network of Windows XP clients. We are a newspaper. We use Acrobat Distiller to batch-convert a folder of single-page PostScript files (for print) to a multipage PDF file (for electronic distribution). Running on a workstation, Distiller watches the folder on a Samba share and does the conversion, automatically creating bookmarks, indexes and other information. On the Windows server, Distiller processes the files by filename order: M09010901A001C.ps M09010901A002C.ps M09010901A003C.ps ... and so on. On the Linux server, Distiller processes the files in an order that seems arbitrary, for example: M09010901A021C.ps M09010901A005C.ps M09010901A015C.ps ... and so on. The order Distiller uses is NOT related to the time stamp of the files. I tried to copy the files to the watched folder one by one in the correct order; the result is the same. This creates the need to open the final PDF and reshuffle the pages by hand, which is very time consuming and prone to error. There is a workaround to this: use the runfilex script that comes with Acrobat: it can contain a list of files to convert, in the order you want. Unfortunately, this is not acceptable for us since the process then takes about 40 minutes (irrespective of platform or filesystem), instead of 3 or 4 minutes. My question is: how is the order of files determined by Linux when a particular order is not explicitly required by a program? I noted the following: I have 4 files in a folder: file1.ps, file2.ps, file3.ps, file4.ps. When I order them by date, they appear in Windows Explorer in, say, the following order: 3, 4, 1, 2 If I copy them to a new folder one by one in the order 1, 2, 3, 4, they will still appear in the order 3, 4, 1, 2 when ordered by date. So, what information is transported with the files that makes the Linux server present them to the world in this order? Does someone know a workaround to this situation or can someone point me to information about file ordering with Linux? By the way, I am using the EXT3 file system. I tried the same on a VFAT file system and the result is the same. It seems to be a Linux thing, not a file system thing. Thank you for your patience.

Problem detecting HP Tape Drive

Hello I do have problem using Linux with an external HP tape drive. The server platform is also an HP Server; the server is an HP ML350 G4, and the Tape drive is a HP Storage Works Ultrium 448 - 1U Rack-mountable. HP Ultrium documentation says two drivers should be automatically up, sym53c8xx for LSI SCSI interface "st" for tape and /proc/scsi/scsi should contain information about tape drive, e.g. SCSI ID. However none of them happened in my case! (document: "UP LTO Ultrium 2-3 - Unix Config Guide") The SCSI adapter is an LSI53C1030. The system has another the same adapter which is used for hard disk drives. The interesting part is, the hard disk are detected and even OS boots from them, but I can't make the tape drive work. Moreover, in system boot up, LSI SCSI BIOS displays informations saying there is a tape drive connected! Any one has same experience, suggestion, comments or clues? I think I followed the instructions in the svn book : http://svnbook.red-bean.com/en/1.5/svn.serverconfig.svnserve.html#svn.serve…, although the instructions are very sparse. I'm not quite sure hwo sasl is supposed to know to use the svn.conf file to authenticate with svnserve. I am running svnserve from xinetd. Here is my /etc/xinetd.d/svnserve.conf # default: on # Subversion server service svnserve { socket_type = stream protocol = tcp user = root wait = no disable = no server = /usr/bin/svnserve server_args = -i -r /svn port = 3690 } Not quite sure why this isn't working. cpu load monitoring

Hi, I have a server running Centos 5.2 and am implementing a GIS mapserver app. I have some sample logs from another implementation that give me an idea of bandwidth requirements but I would like to check the cpu load. I can not be at the server during the test and am interested in knowing if there is logging of cpu load available. Anyone have experience with this? Recommendations? OT: Managing change control in servers, LDAP, firewalls and switches question

Hi, being an off-topic questions with so many vendors involved I had no definitive place to go to ask but here. So maybe some of the list members have ideas in mind. Currently we manage several switches,firewalls and MS LDAP and Centos OpenLDAP installations. We are looking for a "man in the middle" or "framework" to manage change on our network devices and LDAP-based servers. So far, using Quest ActiveRoles/Intrust has filled the part of LDAP, where administrators log into ActiveRoles/Intrust system, generate changes (delete OU, users, change passwords, etc) then the request has to be approved by a staff member in Activeroles/intrust. When the approval is sent to the system, the ActiveRoles/Intrust (and not the sysadmin) logs into the LDAP systems and perform the changes. This has proven useful in tracking changes (who did what, when, who approved it). SquirrelMail Sending Under Wrong Username

CentOS team... as is already bug reported and marked solved... as we await the upstream repair for this. It was reported that this was happening on CentOS 5. You likely already know, but it also happens on CentOS 4. For those unaware. It seems that SquirrelMail has an issue which allows mail to be sent out from one user on the system and it uses the from address of another user on the system. Apparently, both users need to be logged into SM at the same time. My client reported that when he sent the affected message, he received a connection lost notice. He logged in again, stated that the email was in fact sent. The recipient of that email asked what was up with the odd from address. Looking at the headers from that message, they do in fact show adifferentusername(a)thisparticularservername.com. This is about the most embarrassing thing that's ever happened with my servers. Obviously the affected user is not feeling very secure. It does invite the recipient to reply to the wrong address which could be bad on so many levels (imagine having a few local law firms hosted on the same server?). I view this as a horrid security issue. If maybe the CentOS team might be so kind as to push the SquirrelMail update to the front when it's ready, that would be greatly appreciated. John Hinton

Hello, Was hoping someone could help me find a script for a website that increments at a specified rate over a specified period of time, something similar to the US National Debt site. I searched hotscripts but not really sure what this type script would be called. TIA PS I looked at the code for the national debt script but I can't make head or tails of it.

I am running Kernel 2.6.18-92.1.18.el5 x86_64. I need /usr/lib/libpython2.4.so.1.0 for virtualbox. I have python-2.4.3-21.el5.i386.rpm installed which is supposed to provide it. Can I just grab the rpm and take out libpython2.4.so.1.0 and just put it in /usr/lib ? Not sure how to do that. I figured a sym-link would have the app not compile correctly (if at all) with the 64-bit lib. Question on upgrading hardware

For centos 5.x Two questions regarding upgrading hardware or system. 1- If I were to shut off the server and add more ram, switch out ram, remove one of the two cpus, or replace the two cpus with bigger or smaller ones.....Would I just be able to restart the server or would I have to do something with the configuration somewhere? 2- If I built another system, slightly different motherboard but most of the rest the same as far as hardware, would taking a drive from the old system and adding it to the new system work correctly and recognize what it needs? Thanks for any advice on the upgrading.

where did all the nonfree rpms go? Nvidia? xine-lib-mp3?

I installed Centos on some machines that need long term support. I'm running up against some simple user convenience issues. How to play MP3? I've been really puzzled today that the addon rpm sites like livna, rpmforge, rpmfusion, epel, don't seem to have something like amarok-mp3 or xine-lib-mp3. What am I missing? It can be done in Ubuntu, Debian, and Fedora Linux. In the worst case scenario, what must be done? get the xine source code and build an rpm that includes the mp3 components? Do you have Nvidia cards? Then I noticed there is a new Nvidia proprietary driver on www.nvidia.org, and I can't find an rpm package for it, or for the previous 2 releases of the nvidia driver. The place to get those packages used to be rpm.livna.org, but that is now moved to rpmfusion, but on the rpmfusion site, the nonfree folders are empty. Oh, well.
