Linux printing server?

BMC IPMI configuration on centos 5.4 64 BIT Server

Hi all, I am implementing two node cluster , but the hardware they given me contains only the Base Board Management controller (BMC) . Also I HEARD SOME BMC wont support power fencing, how can i check my There is no management port like HP ILO or Dell DRAC for cluster fencing . This hardware belongs to the vendor HCL. For BMC Configuration they are providing the exe setup file for windows to configure IPMI ip,usernmae and password but there is no setup tools for centos 5. So i want help from some one in configuring the IPMI from Operating system level from OpenIpmi tools. if some one provide me the step by step instruction or how to in configuring the IPMI to use fence_ipmi on centos 5.4 x86_64 hardware . Really its very urgent i have to handover the server in next 12 hours. Hello, Anyone knows a repository with apache + mod_ssl + openssl + (other openssl programs) with SNI support. I have tried someone but obtain brutal production server crash, because (now!!! Define an alias with an embeded awk command error ?

Hi, guys: I'm trying to define an alias in .cshrc with the embeded awk command, like this : alias checketh0 "ip add ls eth0 |awk '/inet/{print $2}' |sed -n '1p' " Then i run "source ~/.cshrc" and run "checketh0" command in the terminal , but the result is the following : " inet 192.168.18.18/24 brd 192.168.18.255 scope global eth0" but i want this result : 192.168.18.18/24 How do I do it ? Any help will be highly appreciated. Thanks for you help ~

iptables bugs going untended?

Hi, I submitted a bug report, 0004193 and did a forum post: http://centos.org/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=24748&forum=42 regarding a bug / problem I keep coming up against with CentOS 5.x's kernel. I've done a load of searching on the subject but can't see any references on any CentOS list or mantis, so I'm trying to follow up and see if anyone can work on it, though there are references to it occurring in other distributions/kernels, though I'm yet to see a reference to a solution though it logically must exist. This problem is way beyond my expertise. Unfortunately I've not seen any response at all with the bug submission, and checking over mantis it would appear not much is done regarding iptables, there are a number of bug reports that are sitting in a new state (http://bugs.centos.org/search.php?project_id=0&search=iptables&sticky_issue…) having been automatically assigned to kbsingh(a)karan.org. Is there any chance someone can help me progress with this bug at all? I really do want to avoid compiling iptables and ipset and using them on the servers not out of inability or laziness, but from the patching, security and server consistency perspective (one of the bonus points of using distributions like CentOS) Paul

Is parralel processing automatically done on multi-core CPU's?

Hi, I just noticed this article, http://www.howtoforge.net/fully-utilizing-your-x-core-cpu which uses http://code.google.com/p/ppss/ for parralel processing. So, can anyone tell me if parralel processing happens automatically on CentOS, or would I need to use this script as well? Video driver for ThinkPad T61 laptop?

Hi. Any suggestions how I can get a video driver for my ThinkPad T61 laptop? I've got CentOS 5.4 on it but Xorg crashes when I try to change resolution, and Xorg.log has: (WW) intel: No matching Device section for instance (BusID PCI:0:2:1) found (--) PCI:*(0:2:0) Intel Corporation unknown chipset (0x2a02) rev 12, Mem @ 0xf8100000/20, 0xe0000000/28, I/O @ 0x1800/3 (--) PCI: (0:2:1) Intel Corporation unknown chipset (0x2a03) rev 12, Mem @ 0xf8200000/20 I didn't find one on the vendor's website. After an update to 5.4, squid seems to no longer let you override Cache-Control: no-cache headers in a refresh pattern so I need to go back to an older version. But I've forgotten where the archive of old rpms lives... -- Les Mikesell lesmikesell(a)gmail.com

Intrusion Detection

Hello all, I have been exploring the various intrusion detection systems available for the Linux platform and was wondering what ones you all would recommend? I have used AIDE before and while it is extremely easy to setup, it does not support the ability to send alerts as files are changed (allows one to be aware of an intrusion almost immediately).
