Mix/match C8 crypto policies

Is it possible to mix and match crypto policies using approved tools in CentOS 8? Our environment requires a LEGACY setting for OpenSSL so we can maintain connections with our LDAP servers (which we cannot update at this time), but I'd like especially the OpenSSH settings to use the DEFAULT policy (and maybe even FUTURE on a test host or two). I think it's possible to manually repoint the symbolic links in /etc/crypto-policies/back-ends to achieve that result, and I'll set up puppet rules if that's the only way to do so, but I'd prefer to use a more canonical approach if one exists. -- Paul Heinlein heinlein(a)madboa.com 45°38' N, 122°6' W

samba with gluster almost non-usable

hi guys, anybody runs samba-4.9.1-6.el7.x86_64 with glusterfs-6.5-1.el7.x86_64 shares? Operations the Windows clients perform are incredibly slow. To create a new file(via right-click in Windows) take more then dozen of seconds, sometimes fails, the same with renaming files, deleting, etc. L.

Missing per-Filesys--Df in CentOS-8

Where to report (possible) bugs? Redhat? Bugzilla?

Hi I want to know whether this is a bug and report it but I do not know where to report it. Upstream? Background: It seems upon booting there is a problem where the ifup-route file is called before the actual interface is up. I put some "logger -t ifup-route.jobst ... " messages into the "/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifup-route" and those messages show up BEFORE the interface is up: Oct 7 10:21:28 ifup-route.jobst: Called with eth: eth_1 (eth_1) Oct 7 10:21:28 network: Bringing up interface eth_1: SIOCADDRT: Network is unreachable Oct 7 10:21:28 network: SIOCADDRT: Network is unreachable Oct 7 10:21:28 network: SIOCADDRT: Network is unreachable Oct 7 10:21:28 network: [ OK ] The file /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/route-eth_1 contains: -host XXX.YYY.ZZZ.1 gw AAA.BBB.CCC.DDD -host XXX.YYY.ZZZ.3 gw AAA.BBB.CCC.DDD -host XXX.YYY.ZZZ.4 gw AAA.BBB.CCC.DDD Eth1 is part of the AAA.BBB.CCC.DDD network. If I put the routing rules into "run-at-boot" file that requires networking being UP, there are NO problems adding the routes. -- Jobst Schmalenbach Be gentle with the earth.

CentOS 8 and UPS Autoshutdown

What is the recommended method for getting UPS monitoring and autoshutdown in CentOS 8? EPEL has nut, but I get errors on missing dependencies when trying to install it. I can add details if needed or helpful. I have looked for apcupsd, but have not found a package for CentOS 8. Suggestions? Cheers, Ian

CentOS 8 network-scripts

I have need to use the old network-scripts and not NetworkManager. I did yum install network-scripts, I have ifcfg-eth0 set for ONBOOT=yes but it is not starting on boot. What have I missed ? Jerry
