regarding vpn server for 1500 clients

Hi list, I have to build vpn server for 1500 clients. No encryption necessary. can anyone please recommend me vpn server. I do not have experience on vpn. I have tested openvpn on my test setup, & its working fine. I want to check if there any other vpn server available. I have not checked but can pptp vpn be usefull? My requirement is to connect 1500 clients on vpn server. Need frontend to manage vpn clients. Regards Dhaval

Raid1 --> Raid5

Hi ALL, I recently withed from CentOS 3 X server to CentOS 4.5. It works fine other than printers. there are many printers connected to it. We have configured the commnad printconf queue type is Networked UNIX (LPD) Some times, we will be able to print , But, some times, We will NOT be able to print. We can ping its ip address. Even, when we can't print, We can ping its ip address. When we check logs , we see something like this. [Job 888] Unable to connect to printer; will retry in 30 seconds...: Connection timed out Then, What we do is , We go to application, system setting, printing and when we get the window, We click apply button, Then, again, We will be able to print. Could u pls let me know why? But, When We used CentOS 3X, it worked fine. MCP51 sound card can be recognized but can't work

Hi all, I recently install CentOS 5.2 on my Asus Z99M laptop, everything seem to works fine but there is some problem with the sound card. The system can recognized the hardware and I can even run the Realplayer for linux without any error messages, but it can't make any sound, or even noise. I have googled a lot but still can't get it work. Will anyone please guide me to solve this problem, step by step or just give me some reference. I will provide any information needed. Many thanks! http://lists.centos.org/pipermail/centos/2008-January/050910.html googling i found some hints related to ubuntu to change some hibernation option in /etc/default/acpi-support but is there some file like that in CentOS 5.2 because when i do "sudo find / -name acpi-support" and supplying my normal user password it does not return anything.

reloading a new kernel

Hi - is it possible to load a SMP version of a kernel on a system running a single CPU version of the kernel without a reboot? For instance, a quad CPU system was accidentally booted as 2.6.9-78.0.5.EL but we need to load 2.6.9-78.0.5.ELsmp instead. Any help would be appreciated. -- Article. VI. how to install yum by apt

Hi all! Becaule i heard that the apt was great,i wanted to try it.And when i tried to update my system,the yum faid,i installed the apt which came from dag repo by yum. After that i did:sudo apt-get update and sudo apt-get upgrade.There are some problem and i did as apt suggested:sudo apt-get --fix-broken install.Then apt said should remove 11 softwares insclude yum.I thougt even i removed the yum,i could installed it by apt again,so i removed them. After that i found i could not use apt smooth,there were many problem,so i want to install yum again.But apt couldn't find the yum package.
