xfs and centosplus kernel

I read that XFS has problems with 4K Stack size for Linux on 32-bit systems. How did we address this in the centosplus kernel? Since what release of CentOS was this problem resolved? Is there a quick way to know what size the Linux stack is configured to be in a system's that's running? Thanks for your help.

Setting clock rate on CentOS kernel

Last evening I updated my Cent 5 server to 5.1. All went flawlessly, and it rebooted with the new kernel just fine. How do I set the clock rate on the new kernel? According to documentation it can be done, but everything I read is rather vague. Check out section 3 at the URL below: http://wiki.centos.org/Manuals/ReleaseNotes/CentOS5.1/ I'm using a 32 bit server installation (no graphical stuff) on a Dell Poweredge 2650. I'd like to compare performance of a 100 Hz kernel against a 1KHz kernel. It reads like it's simple enough to set the divider if I just knew where to set it. -- Ben

Apache Authorization Access Control - location of htpasswd in Centos 5.1?

Hi, I’m trying to set up a private family web site for genealogy, and want to set up Apache Authorization access control for this site, and once the user has logged in has access to the entire site. I’ve been reading the info at http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.2/howto/auth.html to learn how to do this. I’m just planning on passing out the same username and password to all family members and allow everyone in the family to use the same username and password, to keep things simple. The server is running Centos 5.1. The first problem I am running into – I’m trying to use the htpasswd utility that came with Apache 2.2 to create a password file. The default location according to above URL is in /usr/local/apache2/bin/htpasswd but apparently it’s not located there in my install. I tried creating a password file by executing htpasswd -c /passwd/passwords famsite but apparently htpasswd is not in my path, I’m getting the “cannot create file /passwd/passwords famsite” error. Anyone know where the default location of htpasswd is on a centos 5.1 install? NFS, acls, proto, and "kernel: svc: unknown version"

Hi all, 1) My NFS3 clients don't display or obey existing non-POSIX ACLs on files of NFS3-mounted exports. 2) setfacl on the client throws error and fails : # setfacl -m u:stowler:rw testfile.text setfacl: testfile.text: Operation not supported 3) at time of client mount the server's /var/log/messages shows "kernel: svc: unknown version (3)". Any thoughts greatly appreciated. Will be happy to provide more configs in addition to below. Hi I'm getting a 500 error when I try to install anything with yum, is this normal? I personnaly like the combination: Postfix, Mailscanner, Group-Office. Group-office has the functionality i need (email, calendar, calendar sharing, tasks, filemanager, addressbooks, projectmanager etc... Yet is quite simple to setup and use... In the professional version there is also a synchronisation option to sync with outlook... I don't think it's the path of htpasswd that's the problem but here it is anyway: /usr/bin/htpasswd. The problem is more likely that the directory you're trying to create the password file in with the command "htpasswd -c /passwd/passwords famsite" doesn't exist.
