Natulius CD burner does not accept my 700Mb CD-R disks

When I try to burn anything to cd, I get a message to insert a CD large enough for my file (normally an ISO image). Doesn't matter if the iso image is a 600Mb Centos ISO or a 48Mb DSL ISO. Same warning. My CD-Rs are Memorex 700MB/80min 52x disks that work just fine on XP systems. So what am I missing configuration-wise?

Nothing. I move the cd (oh and this is one taken from my disk supply last summer) and put it into the IDE cdrom reader and that little icon came up on the top system tray in Gnome telling me that I might want to mount the cdrom by left clicking on the icon. Once mounted, I get a CD icon on the desktop and this lets me open nautilus to the CD. And nothing like this happened with the external CDRW drive. Opening a terminal window and issuing mount, I see the /dev/hdc is on /media/060622_2133 type iso9660 Now lets test all this on the external again... so I insert the CD and again the light is flashing red. mkdir /media/cdrw mount -t iso9660 /dev/scd0 /media/cdrw and get the response: mount: No medium found I am going to dig out my portable CDRW from my notebook backpack (for my real work notebook that I am typing from now, not my 'corp' notebook!).

Dear All, I have configured Cluster Suite with 2 servers Server 1 : 192.168.13.110 IP Address and hostname is primary Server 2 : 192.168.13.179 IP Address and hostname is secondary Floating : 192.168.13.83 IP Address (Assumed by currently active server) I have configured Ethernet Channel Bonding in Each Cluster Nodes and Channel Bonding Configuration Details are 1) Created bonding devices in "/etc/modprobe.conf" file alias bond0 bonding options bonding miimon=100 mode=1 2) Edit the "/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0 and ifcfg-eth1" configuration DEVICE=eth0 USERCTL= no ONBOOT=yes MASTER=bond0 SLAVE=yes BOOTPROTO=none DEVICE=eth1 USERCTL= no ONBOOT=yes MASTER=bond0 SLAVE=yes BOOTPROTO=none 3) Created a network script for the bonding device is "/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-bond0" DEVICE=bond0 USERCTL=no ONBOOT=yes NETMASK=255.255.255.0 GATEWAY=192.168.13.1 IPADDR=192.168.13.110 4) Reboot the system for the changes to take effect. But after Ethernet Channel Bonding cluster services are active on both the nodes I need to solve the following issue and services are run only active node. Prelink: Something's happening here

Can anybody explain to me what's going on here? This is a CentOS 4 i386 system. I have *alot* of files on this system with this issue - I discovered this while debugging a problem with MailScanner. And, why do I see similar behavior on another system that's freshly built? "yum --security" and staying with 5.0

Hello, So I've watched a few threads about the new 5.0 vs. 5.1 upgrade and have a couple of (hopefully) practical questions about this: Context - I'd like to stick to 5.0 at least for a while until the dust around 5.1 settles down (and I'm back from holidays). As an example - In Debian, as long as I stick to "stable" I can be sure that the only updates I receive there are for heavily tested very important bugs and security issues, so I should generally apply them. 1. If I read the FAQ correctly, in order to force yum to stay with 5.0 should I just manually edit /etc/redhat-release from: CentOS release 5 (Final) to: CentOS release 5.0 (Final) (i.e. add ".0" to the version)? If not then what should I do? 2. I am hoping that yum-security will allow me to stick to the latest security updates for 5.0 without forcing me to upgrade to 5.1 until the dust settles down. Am I correct that this is possible with yum-security and the repositories provided by CentOS? Will "yum update --security" update packages with later versions only if those versions fix security issues? Are security updates maintained for 5.0? Here is what I get right now on one of my systems (without doing the change I asked about in (1)): # yum --security list updates Loading "security" plugin Loading "installonlyn" plugin Setting up repositories base 100% |=========================| 1.1 kB 00:00 updates 100% |=========================| 951 B 00:00 addons 100% |=========================| 951 B 00:00 extras 100% |=========================| 1.1 kB 00:00 Reading repository metadata in from local files Limiting package lists to security relevant ones No packages needed, for security, 196 available If I drop the "--security" flag I indeed get a list of196 packages to upgrade.
