firefox-1.5.0.2-2.1.c4.centos.i386.rpm in testing -error message

firefox-1.5.0.2-2.1.c4.centos.i386.rpm in the testing repo produces this error when running it as non-rrot and also as root Firefox could not install this item because "install.rdf" (provided by the item) is not well formed or does not exist. Please contact the author about this problem. How to reproduce this message :- 1. download and upgrade firefox-1.5.0.2-2.1.c4.centos.i386.rpm from the testing repo 2. erase the previous firefox 1.5.0.1 from centosplus and install the new one. RPM for postgresql 8-* for CentOS4?

Hi All, is there an RPM for 4-1 for postgresql? I did a yum, and the latest is only 7-4 Installing: postgresql-server i386 7.4.8-1.RHEL4.1 base 3.0 M and I need at least 8-* Any ideas where to find an RPM for CentOS4-1? Cheers. Mark Sargent.

Hello, we are trying to get a QLogic 4050C flying on CentOS 4.3 in an Opteron system ... So far I was able to download and install the drivers from QL's website. I can also successfully connect to my remote iscsi device now, but as soon as I access it (e.g. formating the device) the connections "hangs" and does not recover until I hardly reboot the machine. Is anyone else experiencing problems with QLogic iSCSI cards? Is anyone happy with them on CentOS? ;) Thanks for your comments, -- Stephan A. How To Approach a Re-install Questions

Hi All, I've just had to relocate and am using a new installation of Linux. I wasn't able to clone the previous machine's drive, so copied the directories to our server via FTP, but, I am wondering how best to approach this as I've never done this before. I'm interested in preserving all home stuff as well as apps I previously installed, but wonder whether just copying from old to new installation will work. It's the same OS and version. Will I run across lots of roblems with this? Should I just re-install everything,and save myself any issues? Curious. What are your thoughts on this? Cheers. Mark Sargent

Hobbit install requirements

I'm attempting to install Hobbit 4.2.1 on CentOS 4.3. When attempting to "configure -server", I get: : : Checking for RRDtool ... RRDtool include- or library-files not found. Upgrade of Centos 4.1 with 4.2 ISO disc

Can I upgrade my Centos 4.1 system with the 4.2 ISO install disc? If so, how do I do it? It seams to want to do a full (i.e. format, wipe out old) install over everything. I do not want to lose my various configurations (e.g. kppp, kde desktop settings, etc) that I have already set up under 4.1.
