Yes, absolutely. I know it's appealing to install an OS you know and love, but the tweaks that the RasPi Foundation have put into the Raspbian kernel and utilities make it a no brainer. I run Fedora on my own desktops, CentOS everywhere at work, but I still use Raspbian on the Pi's.
