If Windows is what you are trying to run, doing that on KVM works fine and the VMs are (usually :D) able to run as is when upgrading. to other versions.
the goal would have been, to have a Linux as my desktop instead of Windows one day ... my virtual machines are not just Windows, also some ancient things ...
