any one has successfully joined a Windows 7 workstation to a samba (3.0.33) domain on CentOS 5.8? I am wondering if I need to install a newer version (from sernet by example) or if I can keep the old one and try harder...
you need Samba version 3.2.12 or later. I don't know if CentOS did some backporting in 3.0. We use the packages from sernet which work fine.
You need two registry settings else you won"t be able to join workstations to your domain. See http://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Windows7
