Is it really a RTL8139?
Or it is possible that it's a RTL8100?

The reason I ask is because while the RTL8100 is supposed to
be MAC compatible with the RTL8139, I'm finding this is not
the case. E.g.,

Nope, the 8139cp didn't work at all.
The 8139too driver loads, but doesn't communicate at all.

Thanks Bryan,

I also tried going out to the realtek.com.tw web site.
They only have linux drivers showing for kernel 2.4.X

Should I try that since my kernel is 2.6.X?
