That is why I mentioned the need to install the w32codec package.
Are you using Firefox ? If yes, check "about:plugin" to see if the plugins are being detected.

mplayer, mplayerplug and w32codec are the packages you need.
Also, you should be able to install realplayer for some extra work.
That should take care of all your needs.
You will need Dag's repository for mplayer and mplayerplug, and w32codec is a nosrc.rpm package, so you will need to read the README file to get the source yourself, and then rebuild the package (or simply install the codecs manually).
